The Official Clay Aiken Discussion Thread

I really wish people (press, critics, Paula, etc) would just dump this "competition". The show is OVER!!! They are both talented performers who will have wonderful careers!! They are friends!! They have different musical styles. Clay is pretty mainstream pop while Rub is a pop/blues/rap mix. They are going to appeal to different audiences.

Well said, Kimberle :D . As a fan of both, I just don't get why those groups (press, critics, Paula, etc.) don't stop with all the competion crap. Once the show is over, Clay and Ruben need to come into their own as artists. It's no longer about AI as far as I'm concerned.

Wow! I just checked to see if Long Island tickets were available (2), and they were sold out!

Maybe, they'll add more shows to new locations.

Crossing my fingers for Clay & Kelly that this will be 2004's
"HOT" tour!!!!

wow...sold out already!!! maybe they're only selling a certain number of seats for pre-sale...more may be available come saturday morning...

Ticketmaster is supposedly having an online presale on the 23rd starting at 9 a.m. until 9 p.m. for many of the venues. Check out Ticketmaster.com. Hard to say whether or not tickets will be good for a presale. Sometimes yes, sometimes no. Regular sale date is still the 24th, I think most of them go on sale at 10 a.m.

Saw Clay on Leno - so glad I was taping, I was cracking up! "You could DROWN in a GLASS of water!!!" :rotfl: :rotfl: Was also happy to hear him sing something other than Invisible for a change!

Satine,
Clay sang "The Way" on the Tonight Show last night. He was the last guest on the show, and you could tell the crowd was pumped and waiting for him to be introduced.

yesterday I got an email from RCA directing me to the CLay/Kelly site for presale tickets..March 5 was listed for the MCI Center in Washington..discussed it with husband last nite..go to the site this morning to attempt to get tickets..and there is no longer any show listed for that date or venue?..does this mean SOLD OUT already?..or are they just playing with me??
Lynn

I taped the Tonight Show...I haven't watched yet....I'm working...can't wait though. Glad to hear he sang something different this time!!

The fan club site seems to be sold out of whatever presale tickets they had.

Try Ticketmaster tomorrow at 9 a.m. for their presale...or Saturday at 10 a.m. for the regular sale.

Good luck!

i'm beginning to think that they were only selling a small amount of seats for this pre-sale...i just don't think that they would be totally sold out so quickly...as cookie mentioned earlier, they're doing a pre-sale on the 23rd, i believe...check out her post above for more info.

i set my DVR (similar to TIVO) to tape the tonight show last night...i got up to watch this morning and got all the way until he was about halfway through his song when it shut off! ACK!!!! i guess it ran over the alotted time or something. so i rushed to work and quickly downloaded it to watch...he did fantastic!! i loved the interview with jay too...very lighthearted. i about died when they showed his driver's license...that just cracked me up! if anyone missed it, you can download the interview, performance, and other misc clay related stuff from last night's show at www.airplaycentral.com . go to video and you will see several options for the show. choose one to download but PLEASE right click and choose save as. we don't want to mess with the site's bandwidth!! enjoy!!

and here's some screen caps from the show last night...

***sorry...had to delete due to imagestation rules***

You probably only set it to record until 12:30 - Leno show typically runs until at least 12:35 every night, so I set my VCR until 12:40 if I'm not watching as I record.

RE the presale tickets.

Where I live (NYC area), everyone comes. I've gone to tons of shows and am pretty good abt getting good seats. (I've gotten first row at Radio City.) So I have a pretty good "ticket nose".

Now, this is just my opinion.

I do think there is going to be a ticket shortage. They may not have released all the tickets. However, the few that remain will be "nosebleed" seats. I'm seriously thinking the ticket "brokers"/scalpers have snapped them up.

A couple of years ago, the Wiggles made their first "big" tour. This was before Playhouse Disney. They were coming to my area. I signed up for the appropriate mailing list, entered all my info so I just have to click "buy" the moment they went on sale. My area made a mistake and released the tickets 10 minutes early. I was all set up "reloading" every other second. I got 7th row seats. A couple of hours later, I tried another arena (Beacon in NYC). I was all set up, kept clicking, got "not on sale yet". The minute they actually went on sale, the only seats I got were the 2nd (top/nosebleed) balacony. (I didn't buy them, just wanted to see what I could get.) (The Wiggles added several more shows to the NYC area, 17 total and they ALL sold out. Who would have thought???? I didn't think anybody "knew" them.)

So, my indication is these shows are going to be sold out as soon as the "official" ticket release happens. (Terrific news for Clay & Kelly, not so good for the fans that won't be able to see them.)

Again, this is just **my** opinion.

Here in Raleigh the season ticket holders for the NHL team were given first chance at the tickets. Order forms had to be received by 5pm yesterday. Each account holder was allowed to order 8 tickets...same limit as general release tickets. Thank goodness I knew an acct holder and got 3 tickets....doubt I would be able to get any Saturday morning...might try though for the heck of it.

I just finished watching Clay on Leno...I had taped it last night.....he was wonderful and so funny too :D

Ed tonite..NBC at 9:00..supposed to be playing himself..but he will be singing..set your vcr's!

I would have 3 chances for tickets since Wilkes Barre, Philly and DC are all within a 2 hour drive for me. I just wish he was coming to Hershey in the new Giant Center as that is so close to me. I will have to see if someone else is willing to go with me as I don't want to drive by myself.

I love the black and white picture of Clay that is on some of your signatures. Now have it as wallpaper for my computer at work.

Have a great day everyone.

Nancy
