*** The Official August 2018 Thread*** - let's have some fun....

I love comparing plans. :teeth:
Here's ours:
8/14 Arrive at Dolphin around 2, dinner at CMC
8/15 DHS lunch at SCiFi dinner at 50s
8/16 Epcot AM, move over to CR CL :goodvibes dinner at Ohanas, maybe back for Illuminations
8/17 AM MK, dinner at BOG, MNSSHP
8/18 Move to AKKV, RFC possibly for snacks/dessert(Need to use up a $50 giftcard, nowhere here), dinner at TH
8/19 possibly Boma breakfast then off to airport

Love all the plans!

8/15 - Arrival evening, no plans
8/16 - MK day, Sanaa dinner
8/17 - AK day, Tusker House late breakfast
8/18 - EPCOT
8/19 - chill by the pool
8/20 - EPCOT - Coral Reef lunch
8/21 - HS
8/22 - AK
8/23 - HS
8/24 - relax, MNSSHP
8/25 - chill by the pool Raglan Road dinner
8/26 - AK
8/27 - HS Sanaa Dinner (yes, twice, it's our favorite)
8/28 - MK Skipper Canteen lunch

We have the QS free dining, so we cut back on ADRs, but doing some favs and Raglan Road will be new. We have hoppers, so the basic plan is for our mornings. We usually go back to the resort and swim and then head out in the evening. Cannot wait! 88 days.

Kids are very excited for All Star Sports, we had a chance to switch back to POP some availability for FD opened up but they want to try something new. So we will go with it.

My plans: Contemporary Tower Room - Bay Lake View, August 16-25 (79 days!!!)
I'm planning on going to MK on MNSSHP days, hoping for lower crowds. But I have to see HEA as much as possible.
I like having "whole" days at parks instead of park hopping. I also like to go in order of opening: MK, EP, HS, AK. Don't know why, but I do. :)
  • Thursday 8/16 - Arrive at hotel around 2pm, settle in and head to Magic Kingdom for HEA
  • Friday 8/17 - Magic Kingdom, lunch at Skipper Canteen, closes early for MNSSHP, Hollywood Studios EMH?
  • Saturday 8/18 - Epcot, lunch at Via Napoli
  • Sunday 8/19 - Hollywood Studios, lunch at Brown Derby
  • Monday 8/20 - Day Off - Breakfast at The Wave, late lunch at Homecomin', Disney Springs, Magic Kingdom for HEA
  • Tuesday 8/21 - Universal Studios, supper at Beaches and Cream
  • Wednesday 8/22 - Animal Kingdom, lunch at Sanaa
  • Thursday, 8/23 - Epcot, Hollywood Studios, HEA at Magic Kingdom (Hit-the-Highlights Day)
  • Friday, 8/24 - Magic Kingdom, closes for MNSSHP, supper at California Grill, Hallowishes from viewing area
  • Saturday, 8/25 - Magic Kingdom, Plaza Restaurant lunch, depart Contemporary at 4pm
Can you tell I like Magic Kingdom the best?

August 2nd-5th at Animal Kingdom Lodge for us! Planning on the following:

Aug 2nd -
Arrival day late. Straight to sleep at AKL

Aug 3rd -
7am-11am | HS. Hoping to get a SDD fastpass but will rope drop it if not
11-2:30pm | Hotel break. We have Sanaa booked for lunch and will likely get a nap in
3-9:30pm | Epcot. Via Napoli dinner followed by Illuminations
9:30 onward | Back to Hollywood Studios if we feel up for it

Aug 4th
8am-4pm | Animal Kingdom. If we're unable to get a FOP fastpass we'll rope drop it. Tiffin's for lunch.
4pm-8pm | Hotel break. Likely nap here too. We have Boma booked at 6:25
8pm-10pm | Magic Kingdom. Just going over for Happily Ever After mainly.

Aug 5th
7:45am-1pm | Magic Kingdom. We booked the Early Morning Magic package at Fantasyland so we'll ride SDMT and Peter Pan's Flight until 9am open then move over to Adventure/Frontier

Might seem like we aren't doing a ton of Magic Kingdom time but that's by design. We just went to Disneyland in April so we are much more interested in hitting Epcot, Animal Kingdom, and Toy Story Land than spending too much time at MK.

31st: leave WL and WDW and be super sad

We always plan breaks every day, we are not park commandos, especially in August heat. We plan to be laid back and make sure we are always enjoying living in the moment and not running from thing to thing.

Now to plan our FPs.... we still have a few weeks to narrow things down.

Fastpass plans too:

60+1 - SDD (hopefully! TSM if not), RnR, ToT
60+2 - FoP (Navi if not), Safari, Everest
60+3 - SM, BTMR, and either Splash or Jungle Cruise

We always make our FPs first thing in the morning and play the refresh game for our 4th, 5th, etc FPs. With only 2 of us we have a ton of same-day FP luck. We even got FoP 3 times in one day last December.

Keep looking. About two weeks ago CG had open brunch times.

We've abandoned CG Brunch and have booked GG for breakfast instead. I'm still hoping for a wine tasting cancellation on the 22nd, right now there is one spot available but I need two. It's not a deal breaker if I don't get it but I'm still hoping!

My guess is someone will cancel. Its midday and only an hour. It'll happen. pixiedust:

@shanew21 If you haven't done EMM before, you are in for a treat! We've done it twice and accomplished multiple rides on 7DMT with no waits, Pooh and Peter Pan (we love Peter Pan). The breakfast is quite nice too - in fact, we've taken a break around 8:30 for a quick juice / pastry, then done more rides and gone back in for more breakfast again (lots of great hot food), just before it closes. It's a great way to get a lot of rides in a short amount of time. Have fun!
