Leaving Friday at noon, driving near GA/FL line first night...moving my DD22 home on Wednesday, (with her mound of laundry) out of town visiting my mom on Thursday (she broke her hip), today is basically my get everything together day, and my DD17 and I feel under the weather...ugh not the best way to roll into vacation, this trip is HERE ready or not...hope you guys have a wonderful time.:)

Thank you!! Hope you feel better and get everything done that you have to. We are leaving Saturday afternoon and for the first time ever attempting to drive straight through from my NJ. I'm a little nervous about it but we have 3 drivers.

Sympathy to you your dd and your mom. Safe travels on the hopefully very open road!

Good luck and with 3 drivers you should be fine as long as there's napping when not driving. Good luck.

We've driven straight through from Southern Ontario with 3 drivers (about a 23-24 hour drive) a few times. We just have one person awake with the driver while the other person has to sleep. I remember pulling over in a rest station for about 2 hours because we all wanted to sleep. It was well worth it to grab a couple of hours of napping in the car at a rest station. We've flown for the last 10 years or so, but I remember that when we did drive, there were really nice rest stations along the way to stretch your legs, use the restrooms, or rest for a bit. We really find the driving an adventure and part of the holiday ... good luck and safe travels:goodvibes

Do you get Disney nails? I'm a disney freak and always do. Not sure what to do this year though. Pinterest is bad haha

I tried to attach a pic of my nails last year for Disneyland. View attachment 183994

Your nails look fantastic! DD's and I play a ton of sports, so long nails are out for us. We often do the red nails with white Minnie Mouse dots. DD's sometimes use a Disney nail decal after mani / pedi - they stick on (then get a layer of gloss over them) and they stay on for a long time (DD's in pool a lot at Disney and they don't come off). They look similar to these ones

Sorry you two are feeling sick, hope it passes quickly for you. Quick healing for your Mom...

Thank you!! We are looking at it as the start of the adventure.

I pick up most of that stuff down there. I bring a small shopping list

I thought of doing that, and there are some things we will buy there, but we are driving down, and have an 8 passenger SUV with only 4 people going along for the ride, so there is plenty of room for us to bring stuff along. For the most part, all that we will buy there are perishables, and stuff we wouldn't want to risk having leak, so detergents, etc. Pretty much everything else we're buying ahead of time, and taking with us.

I'm getting excited now, others are on the last few days...means my departure (another driver, roughly 20hs with 3kids) is nearing.

For those who are talking about 'Disney nails' can it be done at any manicure shop? I babysit a friends daughter for a week before we leave and was planning to take her to get our nails done (my boys are at camp, and my own daughter avoids anything feminine). Only time I've had my nails done was my wedding day, so Disney nails would be fun :)
