Just checked Dollar- can get full size for $230 total or mid size for $210 for 8 days. I thought those were pretty good rates w/ no codes. Rates have dropped significantly lately!! What do you think??

It may just be me that does not know this, so forgive me if you do. Dollar is misleading when it shows the price. It will say "total price*" where others will say "total base price." So jsut make sure that is the price with all the taxes.

Book it when you see it low enough that you can stomach... I am reserved at Alamo for $395 (all included) 11 days mid to late April. (Under Entertainment ID and $35.00 off Coupon). Still a little high, would love to get it lower, but I can stomach that price if needed.

Checked today, rates for those dates have gone UP, nearly $100.00. Lock it in, change it later. Best advice I have heard on this thread, so glad I took it.

Just checked this morning and my April 8th through the 17th rental is $ 190.81 through Thrifty.. I used coupon AF12B. It is down $140.00 since I originally booked it a month ago.. I doubt it will go lower than this.. You never know though...

Just used the same deal with Alamo, and got a full size for $142.41 for 4/29 - 5/3.

It does say that I may need the coupon. I know it usually says that and I have typically not been asked for one, but just in case, is there somewhere to actually get a copy of this coupon?

URGGG!!!! Just checked my reservation and noticed that I entered the dates wrong (4/26 instead of 4/29). When I tried to fix it, it wouldn't let me use the coupon as I do not have the dreaded "Saturday overnight".

So, I went to carrentalsavers and the best I could do was a premium car from Budget for a total of $194.68 for the 5 days. The premium was actually cheaper than mid size or full size. Still I was so happy about that $142 price...Will keep looking and hopefully find something cheaper as we get closer.

OTOH, I have been on hold with WDW for about 20 minutes waiting to add a room request to my ressie. Very thankful for free long distance...

The best part is we're splitting cost w/ my parents.

Awesome! We will be the parents grumbling about the standard room at the pool We have not spent much time in hotels with the kids, and no more than 1 night in a standard hotel room. However, we just cannot wait, our first time onsite!!

My Alamo 10 day rate dropped from $233 to $206 yesterday and today it dropped down to $178. This is for a full size starting 4/21 to 4/30 including all taxes and fees. I used the entertainment contract ID (others give the same discount) and coupon #AD2359FDF

No idea what is happening to Alamo? I have Alamo Minivan secured at just under $400 for 11 days from my hometown airport... today its up to nearly $1,000, with all discounts??? Guess maybe I am stuck at $400? What would cause it to go up so high, availability of cars at that airport?

We are seeing the same thing. We've always used Alamo, but haven't been able to secure a decent rate for April. We did find Dollar and Thrifty have dropped in the past week and we are booked with them.

Sometimes that seems to happen as they are making a change. Since I check rental prices several times a day, I've seen it happen before. While I prefer National and Alamo, sometimes you have to look elsewhere. I noticed that Dollar is having a minivan special for base price of $199 a week before taxes. Code 4C14M

Also Budget is having an SUV sale. I reserved a Explorer (seats 7) for base price $169 a week before taxes and coupon. D4543000 and
coupon= MUGZ029 ($30 -- comes off at the end of the rental, so not reflexed on the listed price).

I'm 6 weeks away, so still hoping to use National, but right now they are TRIPLE what I can get elsewhere. I don't mind paying a little more, but not $600 when I can get it for $200.

Give them a call. If memory serves it is also in the little "perq" book they give out or under discounts on the website.

The DVC code provides no difference in price than the AP code, the Visa code, or the Insider code (Alamo). I've tried them all and the discount is the same.

I just redid my reservation again. Now down to $155.

With Costco ID 7014627 and E-Coupon AD2359FDF for $35 off the total for a fullsize is $122.76.

UGH...for some reason my week (Apr 21-28) is still over $280 for a full size with Alamo...makes me think that week is going to be busier than I expected

So this makes no sense---if I put in April 21 - April 30th (1 week, 2 day rental) it drops to $128 instead of $280 for just the week.

Try expedia.ca and you can get a fullsize for $138.34 Dollar or $143.73 Budget inc taxes. Note Budget includes additional driver and Dollar doesn't. Even a US resident can book there and if you cancel you will get a refund within 24hrs.
