We are needing a car from April 16th (5pm) until April 20th (5pm). We will be picking up at Disney and dropping off at Ft Myers Airport.
Everything I am finding is near $200...is that good?
It seems like people renting for a week are getting it cheaper than me for 4 days, is it a better deal to rent for a week??
Can some one help me find a good deal?
We have 2 adults and 3 kids (10, 4 and 1) so I am thinking a full size car..right? I think we could squish into one?!?!
Any help would be VERY appreciated!!!!

I'm still looking for a cheap minivan for 3/21-3/27. Right now I have a full size car for $194 inclusive (Costco coupon). Last time we traveled I managed to get a minivan for $24/day. Keep hoping I might get that lucky again!

Try Dollar with the MagicCard discount (corporate code oi1054). Base rate for the week for a minivan is $219. Comes to $289.61 with taxes.

I'm seeing some Alamo $199/wk for minivans for late March today, with no discount codes. Not sure if this extends into April, but you might want to take a look.

Alamo's still coming up the cheapest. We have 8 days in a full-size using the Costco code and double-upgrade coupon (available via e-mail to Alamo *********** members or via Entertainment book's online site) for $167.96 including all taxes and fees. I think if you can get the double-upgrade coupon and don't need a specialty (Minivan, SUV, etc.) you can get the standard or full-size cheapest that way.

Alamo has a $25 off coupon for at least a three day stay that does not require a Saturday night....AD5691JDV....try that with the Costco code.Good Luck!!!

ours 4-11/4-17 got alamo with costco ID and 25.00 of alamo coupon, came to 141.00 total for midsize, our times make it 6 days and 5 hours. So this would be a weekly rental, got another last week on Hotwire for SIL for 158 midsize, I guess I should have waited it out.

Thanks. I'm still trying different combos. Priceline has been letting me down this trip but I have hopes i'll score a last minute deal...i have a backup ressie just in case.

I swear getting the car rate is the most stressful part of the trip!

The $199/wk was posted on the Alamo site last week at this time (It was for either minivans or midsize SUV...not positive which). There was no code involved. You know how when Alamo.com shows you vehicles, they put the least expensive two "boxes" on the top? Well, they had SUV (or minivan) on top, even over economy and compact.

But, these rates (at least for my dates of 3/20-24) were only there for a day or two and Alamo's rates for my dates have since increased dramatically since the date is getting close. My $78 rental is now showing over $200 on the site.

I have seen, at times, where Alamo does some heavy discounting on the day or the day before rental. However, since the trend is going up, I seriously doubt that will happen this time. It is a fairly busy season.

So I'm thinking $582 taxes/fees included for 2 weeks (April 25 - May 9) for a Minivan is good and I probably won't find anything cheaper?

To be honest I'm tired of looking for cheaper rates..it was fun at first but now has become very time consuming!

You're welcome and glad you found this old thread, I was looking for one to post on instead of creating a new one. Yes my rate FINALLY dropped $40. I didn't think it ever would.

Same codes and paying $291 for a full size/Executive Aisle for a 2 weeks rental -- 4/24 - 5/7. This ends up being $100 a week before taxes/$145 a week total, pretty good I think. I guess we'll see you in the Aisle, we should be there around 9:30AM, most likely side A.

Well I would guess you would stick with Alamo for that rate. Did you see the code I posted on the other thread to try SUNPROMO and the $30 coupon AD2123JMC (this is for ALAMO). That is probably the best rate for a minivan I've seen lately.
