The Official April 2010 car rental thread

Hi there, I came across this code on Alamo's website today, contract ID SUNPROMO. Hope it might be able to help some of you.

Priceline.com

I don't know if free additional driver is important to you since normally runs $10/day extra. With Thrifty using Orlando Magic Card 004m001010 which comes with free additional driver the rate is $10.00 more or total of $194.32. This is choosing the Wild Car class and you are guaranteed a mid size vehicle or larger.

Seeing some better rates for late March with Budget ($98/wk compact with Costco codes) than was on their site just a few days ago. Not sure if they're better for April, but it would probably be worth a look.

Edited: Went back and looked with BJ's codes instead of Costco. BJ's was about twice the price!

This is a guranteed FULL size because we are Executive Aisle members:

Used $40 e-coupon ND1881JDK (pick up by the end of April 2010)

(2) Time & Distance ($142.89/Week) $285.78
Discount Coupon Accepted ($40.00)
Contract ID 5007160
Inclusive Rate Items
Guaranteed Base Rate Included
Unlimited Miles Included

Subtotal $245.78

TOTAL: $338

However, if I try for a 1 week rental (for my daughter who arrives later, the base amount doubles)
Yes, it's double for me too as is the quote from Sam's Club. I'm doing a 10 day rental. I guess I'll be holding out longer for a special.

I went back ina to add out Emerald Aisle membership to the rental I got on Sams club and it more than doubled my rate... I kept the original Sams retal agreement.

I was surprised to see how much adding the EA in made it. (It appears I don't know how to double quote.... ):rolleyes1

If you have the Entertainment book, or can get your hands on one, it may be worth your while. We registered our book online and accessed the Alamo double upgrade coupon. We then used the Walmart contract ID 430710 to get the free extra driver and used the Entertainment book's online double upgrade coupon to wind up with a Standard (same as full-size in Orlando) for 8 days (4/18-4/26) for $214.04 including all taxes and fees! I don't think you can double upgrade to a minivan, but if you only need up to a full size, I think it's worth it. That's the best price I've found. Hope that helps!

I used this coupon to drop our rate to $273 total for a week,:cool1: insurance included. My wife job has a contract # that gave us a great deal but this coupon made it better. We will have the car during Easter break.

Any idea when codes for the end of April may come out? I'm now looking for a car for my inlaws and can get a good rate like I did on the van I rented.

They are looking for MCO April 24 5:30 pm to May 6 5pm. They want a minivan or suv... (easy on Pe'pe's hip getting in and out.)

I am looking for a minivan from 4/18 to 4/27. We would love to pick up the car somewhere on WDW property and drop off at MCO. I am not finding great rates so far. anyone have any codes or ideas?

TIA

I too am still looking for any deals on Minivan's from Apr 8th to Apr 20th. Any rental agency code, coupons, etc that people have used would be appreciated.

Everything I find is still over $700 with tax.

Thanks.

I"m sure prices will come down as you get closer to April but looks like Budget is the lowest right now. Use BCD Number x474200 from travelocity and Coupon MUWZ023 for $25.00 off. The total with taxes once coupon is applied at checkout would be $551.74.

The last time we went I literally had less than 2 weeks to plan the trip (Jan 09). I pricelined a minivan for $24/day and it was accepted. LOVED that. Not having as much luck for this trip (last full week of March) but still hoping as the date gets closer.

I just used a Costco coupon to book a Budget Full Size Rental car from Sun 3/21 to Sat 3/27 for $194.94 inclusive. Unlimited mileage.

I too am looking for a minivan but I came across this on Budget's website under "specials" and thought it might help someone looking for a compact or midsize using code U245800, Budget is offering compact for 149/week and midsize for 159/week. Valid for pick ups between February 21-April 30th.

Fingers crossed some minivans specials also come out soon!

Thanks, I just booked it and hopefully I will find a even better deal. Do I need anything for this travelocity code as proof?

Thanks.

If I enter the magic card # in the corp code box and go to the next screen, there is no wild car class option for me? How did you do it?

I checked my Alamo rate today another $15 drop. $192 for a 10 day compact rental taxes included.:cool1:
