The "Official" 2014 Stay/Play/Dine thread

Quick question about S/P/D with Disney Visa. We booked our trip a few months ago, used a different visa for the deposit. Applied/received the Disney Visa a few weeks ago, but now that the offer is out we have to wait until Oct. 8th (general public release date) until we can get the offer because we didn't use the Disney Visa for the deposit? Wait, what? Do we need to cancel our original booking and re-book using the Disney Visa to get the offer today? :confused3

No, just put down an extra $200 towards what you owe on the Disney Visa.

They might make you add an additional deposit of $200, they might not make you do anything at all, or you might have to cancel your original booking and re-book. Shouldn't be a problem to cancel and re-book though. :)

My info: going Feb. 4-11 2 adults 2 children (10 & 7) POR garden view with 6 day park tickets is $3,195.95. When I put that info to book without discount it came out to $4,037.30. So I'm saving $841.35.

Just changed our reservation to the Disney Visa Discount:

You can call now and apply the discount to your current reservation. The CM will just ask you to make another $200 deposit with your Disney Visa.

Woo Hoo!! I just booked and here is my deal with the Disney Visa,
Jan 21st thru the 28th,
2 adults and one 10year old,
7 nights at POFQ standard room,
7 day park hopper,
regular dining plan for $2,950.00.
I compared with regular prices on the disney site and I saved $775.00. I am more than happy with that!!

Anybody want to play around with some numbers for me? I don't have a disney visa so I am waiting for the 8th to book. I am looking at January 16-25 for two adults and one 6 yr old. CBR or POFQ with 8 day base tickets. Looking for prices for regular and deluxe dining.

Quick Service Dining Plan

Total: $1,774.48

Did you not get the QS? Wasn't sure what Basic/Regular meant.

Sorry I meant to say Basic/Regular Dining!

That is quite the difference from what I got though -- $2,252.33 vs $1,774.48 is $477.85 or $34.13 per adult per day. Hmmm I am on a mission to confirm this now!

Feb 24 till March 1 Contemporary Resort Garden wing pool view, base tickets, regular dining original price was $ 5241
new price with S/P/D is $4733
saving $508 :thumbsup2

I was told that I couldn't use the RO offer because there were no rooms left in the garden wing :confused3

I think the RO discount would have saved me more but oh well at least I saved something :) which means more spending money pixiedust:

Is there a spreadsheet or formula you are using? Our quote added $800 to our 4 night/5 day stay at BC. Granted we only had room/tickets with a 15% discount but I just figured $20 pp at $80 a day for dining and thought it would omly add $320 but then again I'm losing my 15% discount so I guess that May be the difference:confused3

Okay. I have a dilemma.

We are staying 4 nights feb27-march 3

I booked the room only disney visa promo for POR last night.

Now, I am curious if it would be worthwhile to call and check on the package deal.

We have 3 character dinners planned, so I would NOT want the quick service dining...only want regular dining plan.

Is that even included in the DV promo?

Yes, the regular dining plan is included in the SPD promo if you are staying at a moderate. It might be worth investigating. It certainly never hurts to call and check!

Did you check what it would cost to stay at one of the moderates? I haven't run the math, but since you're paying to upgrade the dining plan cost, it might be pretty close.

Question. Have always booked room only and tacked on tix and ddp. Might go with the spd next week. I know it is one nights lodging that needs paid in a ro ressie. What needs paid when I call next week? What are the terms? Tx
