Thanks, is the tide low at certain times of the day or is it certain seasons....or how do I know if it is a good time for us to go? Our beach day is going to be July 30th

I've only been tide pooling once on my own, so I'm far from any expert on it. Maybe someone else with more experience can chime in. However, I remember that you want to shoot for a negative tide - when the water is below sea level, so that the tide pool area is exposed.

I just did a quick search and found this schedule for the Laguna Beach area. It doesn't seem to go very far in the future, so you'll have to do a search as you get closer.

I *think* the next negative tide is on Sat June 14 at 4:59am with a -0.01m tide.

Where is all our July ppl at!! Our thread was on the second page!! I guess everyone is getting everything ready to go go go!!!!! We have 41 days until we leave MO to head to Cali!!! And my kiddos had to go to the dentist the other day my DD5 is 48 1/2 inches my DS6 is 51 inches so they can ride whatever they want....if they want to!! My DS has been really excited about the roller coaster and I didn't figure my daughter would even give it a second chance no she is saying she wants to ride it and my son wants to ride it all except for the part where it goes upside down I am getting more and more excited as each day ticks away!!

We have never been in July, so I am hoping it won't be too hot or too crowded, but I realize that probably it is going to be. We will be prepared for both just in case. I am excited to go just DH and me! DH has been out of town this whole week and will be gone again for most of next week. It is super tiring to when he is gone (I commend all the single Moms out there - it is tough!!!). I am looking forward to adult time. I am a teacher, so between the kids at school and my own 2 at home and even though the school year is over for me, I need a little break from children! I know there will be plenty of children at DL, but I don't have to keep an eye on them!

Twenty days till we leave! That's right - twenty. 20 20 20 Part of me is but part of me is also It's coming up so quickly! Ok, it's twenty days till we leave to fly to LA but it's still 23 til our first Disney day. We are so looking forward to the sun - it's getting chilly here.

I'm trying not to wish those twenty days away too quickly because my family has a jam-packed schedule til then of school things, family commitments, and other general busy-ness. It's a crazy time. My husband is already working extra hours at the office trying to get enough things done to cover for his three weeks off work.

And then there's the World Cup... It's all football, football, football at our house at the moment

I fully agree! I got it for our anniversary trip 2 years ago and it is TOTALLY worth it! Got one again for this trip. 1 character meal and 2 ride photos pay for it.

My eldest dd finished her last exam yesterday so it's a big relief now and I can get into full planning & packing mode

It's her 15th birthday tomorrow so we are having a party later and my dd's friends are staying for a sleep-over tonight

15 more days until we leave/start our vacation and 19 more days until we get to Disneyland

Yep going to DLR in July. Tropicana July 12 through the 17. Ive been a lurker on these boards for years...Maybe 6. This wonderful thread is the one that reeled me in. I've been going to DL since the early 60's. Yep old. I live about 2 1/2 hrs away from DL and am very fortunate that I can make a few trips during the year, but my annual July trip is my favorite....long days, water rides etc.... Can't wait. Every time I get ready for a Disney trip I turn into a little kid. Thank you RHMH for this wonderful thread.

I'm new to tidal pools, too. the figs I wrote down were for San Clements, CA and I don't even know how close that is to Laguna. the lowest I wrote down was 1.43" around 7am and 10:19 pm. I don't see any negative numbers in my notes so sometime I'll backtrack and see if there are any online.

Glad to have you here! It's our fam's first trip to CA. Please post some good July Dl tips if you can.
I plan to do early morns and late evenings, but will have two teens so who knows how this strategy will work
