*** The Official 2014 - DLR -July Thread ***(We All Have Been There & Back Home)

Yay - We have officially booked our hotel! After all the hemming and hawing, we decided on the GCH. We haven't stayed since 2010. It'll be nice stay just a bit closer to the parks, than the DLH.

July 12-13 - staying nearby at a friend's house. They just moved into a new home and are in the process of building a pool. Hoping it's ready by the time we get there! They are AP holders, so we will go together on Sunday the 13th. Saturday is our travel day/non park day.

July 14-15-16 - moving to GCH. Parks days will be 14, 15. We'll depart the 16th - we usually take off in the morning, so it's unlikely we'll head the parks. But since it's our last visit as AP holders (and we have no set time to return), maybe we'll go in for one last hurrah on Wednesday morning.

:yay: I have your information updated... Wow!!! You have a real nice vacation planned. Visiting Friend's and going to Disney :thumbsup2 See Ya at Disney. We both are at the parks on the 15th... Hope to meet up with you and your family. :thumbsup2

I can believe how close we are getting now!!!!!! We still have to wait til the end of July but it getting closer and closer :goodvibes :woohoo: :cool1::cheer2:

According to the sticky thread here on the DIS (http://www.wdwinfo.com/disneyland/plan.htm#rehab), Space Mountain is scheduled to re-open on July 7. The date has already been pushed forward a few times, so keep an eye on it.

Sorry, but I don't know why it says there's no early admission for July 1. Hopefully it's just a glitch. :confused3

Where are they getting the 7th? The map says 3rd. It better not be the 7th.

Made me hungry so I am now eating a bowl of Corn Flakes and Banana's. :lmao: I have been craving Corn Flakes with Banana's - Bought a Jumbo box 4 days ago and having the time of my life eating Corn Flakes...:rotfl2:

:rotfl2:

Probably not a glitch----they usually add in the Extra Magic Hour/Magic Mornings, as the calendar progresses/adds days. It will show up eventually(hopefully)---maddening I know;)!!!

We will be staying at Best Western Park Place Inn (walking distance woohoo) from July 1- July 8. We haven't figured our plan yet, we are WDW vets so this should be quite the adventure (especially crowd wise for those days).

We are doing the Citypass for tickets so we have 3 day hoppers, but with the crowds I'm thinking we may extend that to 5. No set plans other than to probably avoid the parks on July 4th itself or go first thing in the morning.

Anyone have any suggestions as to better days for going to the parks during this chaotic time? (we do WDW during November when its slow so we may go into shock) I am such a planning freak that normally by now on a WDW trip I know which park we will be in each day... YIKES!

We are doing Universal one day too if anyone has any thoughts as to a good time to go there...

we are flying in and out of San Diego so we won't be in on the 1st until after lunch... and will not have time to go to a park unless its just for a couple hours on the 8th :)

This will be our first summer trip (we are DL vets, but haven't done a summer trip with our girls.) I'd assume that all the days around the 4th are going to be busy. Your best bet is to hit the parks early. You'll be able to hop very easily between the parks as they are only a 1-2 minute walk apart. So you do not need to be tied to one park for the entire day. You just need to plan what attractions to hit in the AM before the heavy crowd arrive.

Have you read Hydroguy's sticky DL for WDW vets?

I've emailed them. I will let you know if/when I hear anything.

Touring Plans also say the 3rd :scratchin

I'm not sure where the information for ride refurbishments/re-openings is obtained by the DIS, but I hope Space Mountain re-opens on the 3rd! My first park day is on the 4th and my last is on the 9th. I would love to have more than 2 days to ride my favorite ride in the parks. I guess we'll just have to wait and see!

I'm right there with you! Our last day is the 8th so a 7th opening on my fave ride is no bueno.

Been away for a while. It's good to see that the thread is alive and well!

Question about dining ADRs...say my first planned ADR (Goofy's Kitchen) is on 7/27. So my window for an ADR opens on 5/27, correct? :confused3

In 6 days you can make them. 5/28 according to the reservations calendar on the webpage.

Our family of 3 (DS 5) will be arriving in Anaheim late on July 19 and staying at the Fairfield Inn for our first trip to DL. 3 day park hoppers, July 20-22. Finally made ADRs today. BTRBBQ July 20 at 5:30 and Goofy's kitchen July 21 at 10:30. Still debating Fantasmic dessert and probably the Plaza Inn for the fried chicken I've heard so much about! We will go with the flow the rest of the time.
