*** The Official 2014 - DLR -July Thread ***(We All Have Been There & Back Home)

I still need to get that photopass. Y'all don't let me forget!

Today I started to get Easter ready. Bought some pins online (ok. A LOT of pins online) a while back and am going to hide them in the Easter eggs this year. One teen over the weekend wanted me to know she is NOT too old for hunts.

I just went through the pins and got the ones I want to keep for myself. It's good to be the mom :)

FFerret, order your Photopass Plus!!!!!!!!

I already got mine. Do things when you think of them. That way you don't forget.

I have it in my new Overland Donner bag.

I'm on the fence about PP+.....I've never really seen a ton of PP photographers around DLR. Is it worth it? I've only seen them in a couple of areas (Sleeping Beauty Castle, Cars Land, BVS) and usually they will take a photo with your camera too. :confused3

I am wondering too though I think I'm leaning towards getting it.

With the plus you get the character meals photos and the ride photos as well :)

Hmmm...we usually don't do character meals cause my boys are kinda scared of them. They will wave from a distance, but don't like to get photos with them or anything.

I haven't bought my Photopass+ yet either but it's bookmarked in my Favourites to remind me. I haven't totally decided yet if it's worth the expense for us. I'm not sure yet about whether we will do a character meal.

And on that note, do you guys know which character meals are not breakfast? We are only there on two mornings so want to use those mornings to get into the two parks early and try to beat some of the worst of the crowds. So I'm trying to work out which character meals are lunch or dinner. Seems like it's only Ariel's Grotto for lunch, and Goofy's Kitchen and Ariel's for dinner. My son is not enthused about the idea of all those princesses so I am leaning towards dinner at Goofy's. Are there other options I'm overlooking?

I am a solo traveler. I know I can give my camera to the PP photographers but I like the ride photos and the character meal photos. If you like getting those photos it's worth it just for those. And I love the Magic photos. So it's worth it for me.

I don't think Ariel's has the princesses at dinner. It's the WOC dinner package. I'm thinking Goofy's is the only character dinner.

Too bad our dates don't overlap. I'm not a solo traveler on this trip, but would've enjoyed "ditching" the rest of my group for a meet up with another grown up, lol. Do you travel solo a lot? I used to when I worked as a flight attendant, but haven't done so in a long time. I love it because I get to do what I want when I want. And meeting people along the way is fun.

We just booked our flights and bought out PHs!! Holy mackerel...so much money. Now all we have left is ground transportation, possibly PP+, and dining reservations.

Too, bad our schedules don't match.

I do travel solo a fair amount of the time. I usually go to WDW. I'm lucky enough to have friends in Orlando that I can meet up with. And I know at least part of my July trip I will be seeing friends as well. Just don't have anything set up. Right now. The nice thing about solo is you can do your own schedule. And if I'm in an ECV, if it isn't too crowded, I'm a little faster than walkers. Have to see how the asthma and the knee interfere with my walking schedule now that the weather is decent.

I bought the PP+ for our last trip (DH & I anniversary trip). TOTALLY worth it IMHO. Especially if you do a character meal. I broke it down like this, the PP+ is $99. The character meal photo package is $35 and there are 5 rides you can get unlimited photos from those. Those are $15 each. If you get one of each that has paid for it. Then you have all the park pictures. We totally took advantage of those. Plus you get the disc of them afterwards. I played around with the pictures and got a lot of the fun banners on them before I ordered the disc. Here is an example.

For us it was a no brain-er to order again, but I can see where it might not work for some people.

:thanks: Everyone for making this thread so much fun...

Ditto!!! Everyone here is really cool!! :cool1:

I'm still debating the Photopass+. By the time our trip rolls around, it will have been 4 years since our last DLR trip. I don't remember hearing much about it back then, but it does kind of sound worth it. :scratchin

For our last two DLR trips, I have used Ridemax, and found the touring plans to be so helpful and spot on. Now that the FP end times are enforced, I'm wondering if it will be worth it for this trip. If anyone wants to share opinions, I'd love to hear your thoughts! :wave2:

I've been tossing the idea of PP+ with my fiance and we arent sure if we want to do it or not. I ordered it for our trip to WDW in september and it was worth it as he used it to his advantage.

I liked it for the ride photos, that way we could be goofy and such.
