*** The Official 2014 - DLR -July Thread ***(We All Have Been There & Back Home)

I booked our condo today! I'm a hotel snob and with it being my parents, my 4 young nephews, and I, the condo was less expensive than the nicer suites (when factoring all the extras like parking, wi fi, laundry etc). Our dates are July 24-August 1. We have 4 day hoppers, but I'm still not sure which days we will go to the parks. It's starting to feel very real now! My planning was put on hold last week when my mom suffered a mild stroke. Fortunately she is recovering nicely and has been given a good prognosis. Looking forward to this trip with the grand kids helps keep her spirits up.

We.ll be there the same time as y'all and Luulu, too. Also sending well wishes for your mother Big day in planning for me. Just got off the phone with the Queen Mary, we'll be spending a night onboard. For SoCal their Mini Suites are pretty darn affordable, plus I can make it count in lieu of money towards a ghost tour. Two birds with one stone, woohoo!

Thanks to everyone for your concern for my mother. She started speech therapy today and will also have to have occupational therapy (mostly for her writing skills), but her prognosis is very good.

I ordered our PhotoPass+ yesterday and received notice today that it has shipped. I used gift cards I got with Disney movie rewards and using the Target discounts to pay for it so I saved money that way. July seems so far away right now, but I know from experience how quickly the time flies by. Last year we started planning our July 4th WDW trip in March, and I ended up scrambling toward the end.

I like to make matching shirts for at least some of the days, does anyone else make shirts? I also like to design autograph books for the kids, but it seems harder to determine what characters we will see at DLR without a Kenny the Pirate to tell me, lol.

Dh and I got engaged on his first trip to WDW in 1999. We took our 9 yo ds to WDW for the first time in 2006 with my parents, brothers and dh's parents (amazing trip!). We went to DL for the first time in 2007 when I was pregnant with our 6 yo dd. We did WDW again in 2008 and 2009. In 2010 we went back to DL. In 2011 we went to WDW again. Back to DL in 2012. This past summer (2013) we took our first Disney Cruise on the Fantasy and loved it! This summer we will be going back to DL with my parents (their first time) and my dad's cousin (her first time too). I am so excited because it will be my first time spending my birthday at a Disney park!!pixie dust:

After DL we will be heading to Yosemite for five days. This will be one of the longest vacations that we have taken. We are all so excited!!

Yes - You are definitely a Disney Family. Its nice to see & here Families getting together to experience Disney.

I have spent my last 7 birthdays at Disney... and really enjoy celebrating everyday of our vacation.. I know - its sound selfish and corny, but when I get to Disney I feel like a kid again.

I have made my kiddos shirts for every park day plus one (got a little carried away) with 2 days being matching for all of us...first time I have done anything like it you can see them in my PTR...I was hoping my photopass + would be here this weekend but we have been dealing with a major snow storm so I guess its running behind!!...wishing you mom a speedy recovery!!

Ha ha! This made me laugh, my dd 14 has told me she will not be wearing any matching shirts this year and that myself and dd 11 are 'sad' for considering it We'll see!!

One week of vaca is rough. Hope the money is good. Mr FFerret gets three weeks a year, but only every other weekend off. So, 12 days on, 2 days off. Ugh. And then works over Christmas,Thanksgiving, etc every other year. Ok, I should really stop complaining and thank the Lord for employment

Happy birthday if I don't remember later!

The studio tour is on 8/2 and is available to all D23 gold and silver members. There is an additional ticket to buy and each D23 member can bring only 1 guest. So my family of 3 has to have 2 D23 memberships (1 gold, 1 silver) in order for all of us to attend. This year, they're giving a studio tour that includes a stop at the archives building.
