[jealous]

RHMH, also jealous about that convertible for hollywood! I wonder what my chances of getting one with Priceline bidding...
One week of vaca is rough. Hope the money is good. Mr FFerret gets three weeks a year, but only every other weekend off. So, 12 days on, 2 days off. Ugh. And then works over Christmas,Thanksgiving, etc every other year. Ok, I should really stop complaining and thank the Lord for employment :)

Whatever DD wants, DD gets... I have been a single custodial Dad since day one and DD is so, so spoiled.

BUT !! I love every minute of it.....:cool1: Love being a Dad

My photopass + came yesterday!!!!! YAAYY!!!!! So excited....and ready for this snow and Ice to go away and summer to get here

YAAY!:cool1: I was thrilled when ours came too. I am ready for some sunshine! All this cool and wet weather is starting to get to me. ICK. I love all the pictures on the disc, they are now part of my screen saver slide show :yay:

I am trying to find *something* everyday to do toward vacation. Even if it is only dumping my change in the change jar :) I am watching a friends little guy for her to put more money toward souvenirs!

I just read that the Matterhorn is going to be down all summer for refurb. I am so bummed about this because this is our first and probably only trip to DL. I know I should be thankful that most of the other refurbs will be completed by July, but this really stinks for us. I know we will still have a great time so I need to focus on the positive and "let it go"!!

:furious: - DD is going to be cranky hearing about this... Midori rode Everest in 2012 14 times as single rider.... by 10:00 AM - she look at me kinda greenish looking and said I think we need to go back to the resort and rest... :lmao: We love coasters... DD rode a loop to loop coaster called Shock Wave at 6 Flags 21 times before she called it quits, I had to stop at 15....:dance3:

Yeah, it's a bummer. Let's just all hold hands and sing "Let It Go" :)

My biggest problem is worrying about meeting Anna and Elsa! My 6yo dd REALLY wants to meet them!

Wow, you guys really LOVE coasters! I like them too, but not as much as you guys.

I have no idea, I read about the summer closure on another thread. All I know is that most of the refurbs this year are related to some OSHA law that changed last year. Again, I learned that from reading other threads.

Exactly!! ha ha

I have a feeling my 6 yo nephew will want to see them as well. Let's hope their meet and greet hours will be expanded for the summer crowds!!

Hey FFerret, in an earlier post you mentioned "LEOs." Were you referring to law enforcement officers? I ask because my brother (whose son is going on this trip) is a police officer and I am a former prosecutor.

When we were there in July 2011 it was closed going through a major refurb. In July 2012 DH and I went and weren't too impressed at how jerky it was. It was waaaay worse than Goofy's Sky School in CA.

Hello Everyone

2 Questions... planning on visiting Huntington Beach to play.. :beach:

1. I would like it to be a WOW factor visit. Is this a good choice?
2. Should we take public transportation or :drive: a rental car? (It looks very close)

We have only visited Monterey Beach, Santa Cruz Beach and San Diego Beach in California.

Thanks - Bob

Hi Bob, I would also be interested in feedback on this as we are planning a day at the beach and the girls are keen on Huntington Beach (Hollister fans ).

I've seen this mentioned a few times: http://www.anaheim411.com/shop/catalog/product_info.php?cPath=29&products_id=92
Anybody any info on this?

I think there is a bit involved changing buses etc going by public transport. I'm thinking of hiring a car for a day trip to San Diego so maybe we will just do our beach day the following day and keep the car. Let me know if you find anything of interest please, I need a beach day :beach:

Tina :)

We originally were going to split time between Newport Beach and Corona Del Mar due to its proximity to Anaheim. We will be doing more at the northern end of town now, so the whole Santa Monica pier/beach thing made more sense logistically.

There are tour buses/shuttles that travel between Anaheim and the Orange Co. beaches. But we were going to utilize the Alamo counter at DTD to ensure maximum freedom by operating on our own schedule. The downside to renting is the higher cost. Yet the thought of being outside in the hot sun, waiting for a shuttle/bus to arrive, with all our beach gear in tote, made paying more for the convenience of having our own vehicle with us more appealing. You can also explore the immediate area--shops, views, restaurants, attractions, etc. at your whim.

Explore both options. Do what fits YOUR preferences.

Oh, no no no. Too funny. I just meant all of the July and August birthday-ers :)
But, I do feel safer now knowing y'all will be there at the same time!

Thanks Tina, I will keep you updated. To bad a group of us needing to visit the beach are not at DLR during the same week. We could rent a large SUV :drive: and have a Dis-Outing. Also thought about renting :moped: while at the beach...Still looking :surfweb:

I did rent a car for our Hollywood Trip 74.00 and some change for a convertible (Alamo) don't know if I should just keep it another day for the beach...Don't know anything about the hot weather in Anaheim, but if it is anything like WDW - we should be ok...

Happy birthday if I don't remember later! The studio tour is on 8/2 and is available to all D23 gold and silver members. There is an additional ticket to buy and each D23 member can bring only 1 guest. So my family of 3 has to have 2 D23 memberships (1 gold, 1 silver) in order for all of us to attend. This year, they're giving a studio tour that includes a stop at the archives building. :wizard:

Thanks for explaining this! Might do something like that for the future; my 13 yr old daughter is insisting she wants to go into animation and that looks like an incredible opportunity to see the real deal. And, that's how I'm a gonna sell it to Mr. FFerret :)

We've booked flights so it's official now - well, it will be once we've told the kids - we'll be at Disney 7-9 July. Coming from New Zealand, with my husband and two kids (6 and 8.5).

It'll be the kids' third visit but they were 1 and 4, and 2.5 and 5, on their last visits so it'll be all that much more fun now that they're a little older. The youngest doesn't remember his previous two visits at all - we were in CA for family weddings both times and Disneyland was an add-on.

Very much looking forward to it but wary of how manically busy it is going to be. We didn't have any flexibility with our dates unfortunately because we need to work around our kids' school vacation dates (July is a two week break in NZ).
