Been MIA.....wedding planning is starting to become crazy! We booked our only ADR for this trip at Ariels Grotto for July 1st at 6 pm with a WOC dinner package!!
Also have an outline of our days
Mon June 30th Disneyland-Walk in Walts footsteps tour
Tues July 1st- DCA
Wed July 2nd- Start at DLP and finish at DCA
Thurs July 3rd- DCA
Fri July 4th- Off day....going to see LAA play some baseball
Sat July 5th- Jumping between both parks
Question: We are approaching our ADR window for our upcoming trip. Would you suggest booking a WOC package? We will only be in the parks for three days and none of us have ever seen WOC before. Is the dining package worth the extra cost or can I get good enough seats by getting a fastpass for it? How hard is it to get a fastpass for it anyway? TIA!!

I've read many threads with this same question and I can tell you what the "experts" say: don't book the WOC meal package just for a better view. Even with the meal plan you need to line up 1.5 hours early (same as FP) in order to get a prime viewing spot. Therefore many people are disappointed because they paid a lot of money for the meal expecting to have a guaranteed great view. I've seen several people who've done it both ways and say they got a better spot waiting in the FP line. If you plan to do the meal anyway, go for it. Just understand that the premium meal price does not guarantee a prime viewing spot.
Tia - Thanks for asking your question.. I have been wondering myself.
Appreciate your answer.. I have been reading & reading, surfing & looking at the $$$$ of the WOC dinner package on the Disney web wondering the same thing...![]()

Interesting. So if we don't care about "prime" viewing...just viewing in general...how early would you suggest lining up?
Think we're going to skip the WOC package and the F! Dessert one. Wanted to tell you thanks for starting the wonderful character thread! And of course thanks to our excellent host for starting this thread![]()

You're welcome! And yes, we have a great host here for Our July thread!
I am sitting here patiently waiting for the ADR to open for 7 July. It's showing on the calendar but when I try to search for a table, it says "We were unable to check for available tables at this time. A problem occurred while looking for availability. Please try again later." Anyone else had that problem? It works ok if I try to book a day earlier so maybe it's just not quite ready for the 7th yet. Feeling the stress.

I am still having the above problem. I have tried on a laptop and iPhone with the same results. I've been trying intermittently for about 10 hours now. Does it just mean the site is overloaded for that day? Getting panicky.
Thanks for your advice. It was 7 May in Anaheim when I was trying to make ADR for 7 July and 7 July was showing on the booking calendar so I assumed it was all going to work ok. I tried waiting "patiently" (ok, not so patientlyI think new days become available for reservations based on the Pacific Standard Time zone. Since you can only book a reservation for a date that is 60 days away, it makes sense that you weren't able to do it earlier. It will be midnight in California in about 30 minutes from the time I'm writing this, so hopefully you'll be able to book after that point.![]()

I tried waiting "patiently" (ok, not so patiently) for the time in Anaheim to roll over to 8 May and I'm still having no joy. Different error message this time though - now it says "We're sorry, there is a problem searching for Table Service reservations at this time." Ugh.
Glad to hear you were able to get yours sorted from Japan, Tinnibee. Unfortunately I am not staying at a Disney hotel so won't be able to use the Vacation planner people. I may have to cave in and phone. I have a bit of a phone phobia so I was really trying to avoid it.
