I've been thinking of looking into WH for our trip next year. How far away from WDW is that? :scratchin

2 miles to Disney! 5 mins :-) SUPER excited. The cost for my family is so minimal in comparison to onsite that we just had to!

Oh AND more good news for me. We booked our flights the first day JetBlue released the schedule which was a week ago. Today flights are $200 more pp. SCORE

Thank you for the info! :goodvibes I've been considering looking into it since we're definitely staying offsite.

We've stayed at WH twice and LOVE it!!

The reason we chose Sandy Ridge for our next trip is for the giant private pool!

WH has a small splash pool (a little bigger than a standard Jacuzzi, but deeper) in the back of many of their townhouse units. Our youngest (age 11) eats, sleeps, and breathes swimming and many of the houses in Sandy Ridge have LARGE pools in the backyards -- not Olympic-size, but close -- as well as hot tubs.

So that's why we're staying in Sandy Ridge this time! It's another 5 miles past Windsor Hills (on the same road).

From Windsor Hills, it's very convenient to get to the parks -- you leave the neighborhood, turn left .. drive maybe 1/2 a mile .. turn right at the light -- that's 192. Go maybe ... a mile or two and you'll see the exit for Disney World. And you're there! Just follow the signs to the park of your choice! Best thing about it? You don't need to do the I-4 crawl! :cool1:

The bigger homes at WH have full size pools with a hot tub. We are renting a 4 bdrm and it's a full 18x24 pool 8 ft deep in the deep end.

Check it out!

I've never stayed in Sandy before so its hard to compare them! I would stick with WH .. It is closer to Disney

My favs from the parks are the mango gelato from Cosmic Ray's and the Nutella sandwich with strawberries from Sleepy Hollow. :goodvibes Can't go wrong with either of those, IMHO! :teeth:

Yum! My sister adores Nutella sandwiches and she has a limited number of foods she really likes (special needs) so that's great to know! We also didn't go to either of these places last time, which is perfect. Thanks!

Agh, that penguin room is so adorable! They're my favorite - I can just see us pushing the beds together because I made hubby sleep in that one with me instead of a master... :)

We used homeaway for our vacation rental and it was the private pool that sold us as well. Plus the idea of a soak in a hot tub after a long day...:goodvibes

My oldest LOVES penguins!! That sold us on that house in particular. She is going to love it!!!

Since I'm pretty locked in for my dates, how crowded is the weekend AFTER MLK? We're arriving the Thursday after MLK (23rd) and leaving on the 27th

Booked our 2014 trip today!! We are staying Sept. 13 - 20 at ASMo. We are hoping to do MnSSHP one night! I booked ASMo in hopes for FD, but if no deal comes out I will probably switch to AoA LM room. Can't wait!
