~*~The OFFICIAL 2014 Dates Thread - Come Join Us!~*~

I've only been in either April/May or October, so this will be a new time to visit:) I decided on February after I checked out the crowd calendar on Undercover Tourist. I wanted a time of year the wasn't super hot and not during a school vacation.Lol I'd rather pull my kids from school for a week then deal with the outrages crowds.

I'm looking at staying at either Pop or ASMovies. My oldest wants the latter because he likes what he saw online. I've heard a lot of people rave about Pop. From the layout to the food court. I've heard it's a bigger resort with a larger layout, but I don't really want to fight with the long bus lines for the AS resorts at night. Unless they put in separate bus stops for each resort before we go.Lol

I've only gone in March and October myself, so this February thing is new to us too:laughing: But we're staying for the low crowd level and DGFs birthday, so everything worked out like that.

I've stayed at ASsports a while back, and I remember the buses working out swimmingly, expect heading back. I understand that issue, so we went to AoA this past October, and the buses heading back were still crazy. I think you're on to something with Pop, though. The layout is cool, never remember the bus lines at the end of the night being unbearable, and if DS is digging the grounds(:hippie:), it sounds like the shoe fits :woohoo:

I never ate over at the Pop food court, but you are only a bridge walk away from Landscapes of Flavor. You'll NEED to hit that place up if you choose to stay at Pop. The food options are crazy and SO~ worth only 1 counter service credit.

Need to stay focused. :rotfl2: Yesterday I was second guessing if we could actually afford this trip. $5000 including airfare. Thought about driving but that would take 2.5 days there and then back. Could cut it down further but then we would be tired and crabby. :confused3 This trip will be a once in a lifetime trip. Been socking way all the change and extra cash that I come across. almost blurted out to the kids that we are going so they would stop asking for Legos and other toys. My kids don't need any more legos. We have an obscene amount of them already and they only play with a 1/8 or is it 1/16 of them.

I have been watching airfare but need to wait and see what Suncountry and Southwest post in July. The other night is was $500 per person on Delta. Ouch. Plus baggage and taxes.

Ouch!! That is high airfare. I will not complain about my $260 a person ever again. And I only have 2 people to buy for.
Hope it works out for you to go!!

That's funny that we are debating the same 2 resorts. POR just makes me nervous because it is so big and has multiple bus stops. But DH is not a huge Disney fan and he really liked the pics so I am fine with any resort that makes him happy. :)

I feel your pain!!!! Glad you got it all settled and figured out though. Now you have plenty of time to think about those ADRs. :goodvibes

Don't you meant more time to obsess (it's not just think) about the ADR's? :rotfl2:
I'm already plotting to add in extra activities since we won't be doing MNSSHP or MVMCP now so I have extra room in the budget :goodvibes

Ok, I have a few minutes and I can update half of my trip! So originally we were planning AKV... Then our October trip got changed to September and we will be staying AKV then.... So we had a few ideas.... this was the plan..

1)BLT Lake View
2)BWV
3)WL
4) BC or OKW

Well.. This morning the last night of our stay a lake view room was not available... Boo! Right? Nope! I talk to DH and he says lets split it up, 4 nights at BLT and 3 nights at an Epcot resort... Yaaay! right???? So I go and plug in the first segment of out trip - and guess what MK view is available!!!!!

:banana::banana::banana::banana::banana::banana:

So 4 nights with an MK view... Right now it shows availability for the last 3 nights at BWV in a garden or pool view - hopefully I can book that and waitlist it for a Boardwalk View :) If not we will try for the Beach Club and then either WL or OKW. DH really wants to try for WL in December and spend a whole week. He likes the "Wilderness" part of it :)

Sooo with the talk of Wilderness Lodge, we start talking California in 2015! Yosemite AND DISNEYLAND!!! We figure if he works hard enough we can hopefully tack a few days onto his vacation (he normally can only take one week at a time) Seriously though Yosemite and Disneyland!! DH wants to do 5 days at each!!

So right now I am all sorts of excited.... :teeth: time to go update my PTR!!

Ooo I didnt think about that! We would have done MVMCP if we went in December. Hmmm..if we stay at POR, I might be able to get DH on the carriage ride.

We are back on for March 1 - 8, 2014 at POR. My DH and I could not wait until November to come back home to Disney. :cool1::cheer2::yay:

Now just to keep it a secret from our DSs. Our oldest thinks we are going in December 2014; he is going to be so surprised since his birthday is in March (So is DH's). :upsidedow

I just love Disney surprises. pixiedust:

:woohoo: Congrats on the point rental coming through! I'll keep my fingers crossed for your savannah view. :goodvibes

We went to Coral Reef in December and had a very good meal. It was all seafood but well prepared.

I'm so glad I found this board! My DH thinks I'm nuts for planning so far ahead, if he only knew! We'll be staying at AoA from May 4-11, our first family trip! Our daughters will be 4.5 and 1 :cheer2:

All registered for the Princess half marathon! princess: Now just having to wait for the rates. Hurry up all ready. :cheer2:

Looks like the 7 Dwarfs rollercoaster is still proceeding well and should definitely be open in 2014. HERE is an update from AllEars
