~*~The OFFICIAL 2014 Dates Thread - Come Join Us!~*~

At the 7 month window I couldn't get BWV or BC for my dates this October. The easiest rooms to get were SSR, AKL, BLT and OKW.... I am also going between the ToT ten miler and Columbus Day. So if renting points you can see where I'm going with that! The two beds was the reason we didn't book at OKW- I like to lounge around and beds and chairs ehh not my favorite loungers!

Sounds like maybe we should just stick with AKV afterall. BWV appeals to me greatly, so pretty, but AKV appeals more to my husband (for obvious reasons - not as pretty or flowery LOL).

I feel the same! I think it's because of the refund policy... ;)

YES! We always buy non-refundable (read: cheap) seats. And I always worry afterwards. Here I thought I was the only one. :p

Hello!

We are looking at March 2014 (to see the Flower & Garden Festival). Well I am looking, DBF has no idea that I am looking yet. :rotfl:

However, no matter what I will be going next year 2014.

I always stay at POFQ. Looking to do a longer trip this time (as I am planning it farther out) and doing 10 days. Trying to hit IOA as well, without feeling like I am missing something at WDW.

Can't wait to be able to put my deposit down, that makes it all real.

-Kristi

ps ignore the ticker, that is last years. :)

totally agree-deposit makes it real...We are sitting here waiting for it to open the dates for us so we can put in our deposit....

June/July can't come fast enough. I like to book it real early and pay a little each month. This way it's all paid out by the time we hit the 45 days mark and I always have something to look forward to.

Yes! I always have that "wait, did I make a mistake" moment after I book - do you? :scared1: I'm always afraid if I'd waited I could have gotten a better deal, or checked one more airline ... I drive myself crazy!

Omg yes!!!!!! I thought I was the only one. Lol

I think either will prove to be awesome. The feel of AKL is so relaxing ;) I would just keep your options open though!

Not cheap but "frugal"

You never know where we'll end up. This trip has been changed so many times already - may not even be WDW by the time it's all said and done. <gasp!>

Don't try and keep your options that open! ;)

We are constantly changing, too!! Originally it was definitely off-site. Now, IDK, I'm leaning more towards staying on. Would love to save the $$ but don't want to miss out. And I know the dining plan isn't a great money saver, but when I was actually looking at meals and how much we will be paying out OOP, I was a little like  We thought we would just be doing 2-3 table service meals, but now that we are strarting to get plans together, there are just too many that we don't want to miss ~ so even though it wouldn't be one everyday for our week trip, there are 5-6 must dos we have (one being CRT, so that would take care of that extra credit). I'm so torn! Last time we stayed at the Poly, b/c the most space was the most important for DH (as far as it just being one room, not DVC) ~ so that left Poly and CR and we liked the look of Poly much better. At the time, we had a double stroller, a pack and play, and a bunch of extra stuff b/c our youngest was just a baby (had just turned 1). Next time, she will either just be 3 or almost 3; so more than likely no PNP and probalby just a single stroller, so we might be okay in a "smaller" deluxe room. I would love to go back to WL, but more than likely she will already be 3, so that would be out. Also looking at BC or YC. I love that my husband lets me take control of the plans, but I wish he would give me a little help with choosing a place!

Not just you, I've been going to the United site all day to price our tickets but I can't bring myself to check out. It's $1600 for the 4 of us and non-refundable, what if I screw something up?

I need some sort of support group, "Hi, my name is Rachel and I have trip planner's anxiety".:rotfl:

Ok, so here are the new plans, Feb 7th to the 13th. Split stay between AoA and a cabin at Ft. Wilderness (long story). I have keep that the way it is for now, I have an Excel workbook with all of my plans in it and I shared it with DH. Every time I make a change he gets a notification on his phone and apparently I'm driving him crazy. So I've moved on to getting ideas for our May 2015 trip, I'm dreaming of a 2 bedroom at BWV.

Gross story of the day, a friend thought they picked up bedbugs at a hotel they stayed in a few weeks ago. Got a pro in today and they put the original infestation at Novemberish. They spent a week at Disney in November, either POFQ or POR, can't remember which one. She filed a claim with the resort this afternoon but now I'm paranoid and furiously Googling how to do a bed bug inspection when you get to a hotel room. I know mousekeeping inspects the rooms and I know the policies for hotels are strict, she just got unlucky. Her exterminator told her it could easily have happened when her bags were in transit on the plane. I'm seriously considering wrapping every piece of luggage we bring in garbage bags and duct tape.

When you get to a room - pull the sheets back and spray the bed with Lysol - if there are bed bugs this will bring them out. My MIL did this at a hotel (not Disney) and it really worked, so thankfully she checked. She came and checked our room down the hall from them and we were ok.

I'm glad this works... But not glad that its from first hand experience!!

:lmao: I wondered what kind of reaction that was going to get!

My husband doesn't help much with choosing - he more or less says, "I don't like the looks of that one" and leaves me to figure out another option.

As far as the DDP, have you sat down and compared what your OOP cost would be in comparison yet? Make sure you do before you decide DDP is better because the math doesn't always work out. We're going to just buy gift cards for our next trip so everything is still "prepaid" and it's not cash in hand. I think that's way scarier, especially since lunch is usually $30 for the two of us.

The thought of bed bugs completely freak me out! :scared: I always pull back the sheets and look everywhere, do the duct tape thing, but I'm always afraid one of the little buggers is hiding just out of sight. :crazy2:

This is good to know. ::yes:: You just spray it right on the mattress like you would Febreeze or what?

I just booked our room! Jan 3 - 11 at AoA Nemo Suite.

It's a surprise birthday trip for our son who is turning 6 on Jan 4.

How wonderful. Where did you manage to book so early? I can't get further than 2013 on WDW website.

yes - pulled back the sheets and sprayed and they started to crawl out. I have to say I was surprised that it worked so good and now I have a new hotel ritual.
