And 3-4 months out? Grrr.. how do people plan ADRs if they don't know EMH's/hours/etc?
Random question, fellow '14ers. When do EMHs and park hours get released? Like how far in advanced?
Welcome to the thread/group, hsmamainva, drirun, PrincessDreams2, and anyone else I've missed!![]()
Park hours are released 6 months in advance. For instance, April hours for 2014 are released by October 1st, 2013.
You can make ADRs 180 + 10 if you're staying on site. Say you're staying from April 8th through 15th. You can make all of your ADRs on the same day (for your entire week's stay) on the 180th day before you leave.
Here's a calculator for that:
http://pscalculator.net/pscalc.php
If you put April 8, 2014 into the calculator, then it shows you that on October 10th, you can make all of your ADRs for your week-long stay on that day. So would know the park hours before you made your ADRs...but those park hours can change later on.
If you're staying off-site, it's different. For instance, we have 3 ADRs for our May trip off-site this year. I made our Monday one on November 14th...but couldn't make our Thursday one until November 17th...and had to wait until the 18th to make our Friday one. It's more work if you're staying off-site, but not too bad.

Oooh ... this is good knowledge to have! Can I PM you if I need info on what areas are good, etc.? Right now we're looking at staying in North Myrtle Beach, arriving June 2nd (providing my husband can get THOSE dates off, that is
).

I'm assuming that this 180 + 10 only works if you've already booked a package or room, yeah? I don't know when we'll book, but it would probably be 1/2014 not 11/2013 (when ADRs are open).
Thanks, though.![]()
Wait, can't anyone (offsite vs onsite) do ADR's 180 days out? So I can still do all my ADRs even though I haven't booked a room yet, right? I was specifically talking about the +10.180+10 works as long as you're staying on-site. I think that applies even if you're booking room-only. But, yes, if you're not booking until January, you'll be able to make all of your ADRs on the day you book your room.
I think as long as you don't have your heart set on a hard-to-get restaurant (like Be Our Guest, Victoria & Albert's, Cinderella's character breakfast, etc.) you should be fine and will likely be able to get into all of your restaurants.

I think they are talking about DeVine. If you google DeVine and animal kingdom there is quite a few videos and images![]()
Yes, anyone can do the 180 days, but only onsite guests can do the +10. Offsite guests have to do 180 days out from the actual ADR date. For example, they could make their 1st day ADRs on a Friday, but their 2nd day ADRs would have to wait until Saturday. Make sense?![]()
We just got home today from a week at the World! We are already planning our next trip for October 2014! Not sure of dates but thinking about AofA and hopefully free dining! Can't wait to get back!
We will be there in October! We have never been in the fall, so we are looking forward to the decorations. Speaking of the fall, does anyone know what the temps are usually like then?? Our fam loves waterparks. Will it be warm enough do you think??
When does availability open up for 2014 dates? Is it a year out from when you want to book? It has been awhile!I am so going to need a refresher course once we get closer to the time. Or new training, what with the + stuff that I have been reading about, fastpass plus or something like that. Anyway, I sense lots and lots of research for this trip, just like our last! Not that I mind or anything......

Hi, I saw this thread & just had to pop in!! We originally had a trip planned for this past December with our rather large family.....but money became an issue & so we switched gears & headed to Disneyland instead. (we live in Oregon so cheaper travel).
I had planned, researched, had ADR's set, resort reservations, etc and then to have to cancel was gut wrenching......especially since we NEVER been to WDW!!! So after our family trip, my husband & I started discussing going in 2014 for our 30th anniversary. So we are looking at going either the last 2 weeks of January, the last week of January & the first week of February or the first 2 weeks of February. Opinions greatly appreciated!!!!!
We're hoping to do a split stay & do a week at POR and then a week at the POLY!!
We plan on coming..........alone........NO KIDS ALLOWED!!!![]()
Excited just thinking about this possible trip!!! When we know if this is going to happen or make a deposit on our package, I will post dates & resorts!!!
