The Official 2013 Elf Capades Thread

Eve our Elf Magic elf will arrive tonight.

I'm a bit tired for anything extravagant - so I went and found the leftover Halloween Candy and unwrapped a bunch. Threw the candy away and left the wrappers all over the place. Eve will be found on the counter, surrounded by wrappers and with her new Elf Magic blanket and pillow that she brought from the North Pole.

I also printed out some lined Elf paper and will be using it so DD and Eve can communicate. Honestly, I started this last year only because I wanted DD to read and write more. It worked! They leave notes for each other.

Let the fun begin!

I thought I had mentioned this in a previous thread - but can't find. But, it is DDs favorite thing. Believe it or not - Eve hides Christmas presents! It started a couple years back as I was putting stuff under the tree and realized I simply had too much for one 5YO to open. Nothing big - but a book, pjs, dvd, puzzle, etc. Ya know all those little impulse things that you end up buying along the way. Eve left a note saying she hid some of DDs gifts and asked her NOT to go looking for them, but to just go about her day to day activities and she will eventually find them.

They were all wrapped: The book went on the bookshelf, the DVD in the movie draw, the PJs in the PJ draw etc. Over the next couple of weeks DD would find one when she wasn't expecting it and a little bit of the magic lasted into the new year.

I'm excited to find this thread. This is our first year and my DD is not yet 3 but having fun. Despite all my Pinterest research ahead of time, already find it taxing to find new spots for our elf!

Our friend has done the following:

Elf using the toilet and left a red and white hard candy in the bowl

Elf made breakfast by taking a bag of powder donuts and placing a few on a plate and sprinkled the powder sugar crumbs on the counter.

Elf help decorate the tree using toilet paper that had been wound around the tree.

I posted these on the other elf thread, too:

Some things he's done this year:
Made a necklace with froot loops.
Brought a big bag of m&m's and filled up our Christmas dispenser.
Ate a Milkbone dog treat, left a pile of crumbs where he spit it out and a note that said "yuck! Please don't leave these cookies for Santa!".
Tonight he's going to leave a tiny countdown chain.
Made a grocery list with red pencil with a bunch of sweets on it.
Made Christmas Jello jigglers and left him in the fridge with them.

On nights that I'm tired he does simpler things like riding our stuffed Rudolph, hanging from a suction cup basketball hoop, playing checkers using peppermints and spearmints instead of checkers. One year he brought the kids the Elf movie and had it in the dvd player and was snuggled on the couch with a blanket and popcorn.

Last night Eve hung her picture all over our Xmas tree. Easy enough, took a pic and copied into a word doc. Printed them out on regular paper and just scattered around the tree

our elf has been busy this year ---
she put all the boys underwear on the tree one evening

last nite, she tried to catch the new fish by using a straw for fishing pole and propped up by the new fish tank!

she really likes to ride the monorail under our tree

our elf also intercepted the tooth fairy last week and kept the money until the next day!

our elf gets a lot of ideas on pinterest!

:)
