Friday 16 June don’t care what the high is!

Up today around 7am, we had a bit of a lazy start as I had packed everything last night. We got showered and ready and had cereal for breakfast. We checked out of the room just before 11am and DH and DS went off down to Pointe Orlando to the cinema to see The Fast and the Furious Tokyo Drift, leaving me to look after the cases and bags. I didn’t mind as it gave me time to get some revision in for my exam on Tuesday. We had arranged to be picked up at 1:40pm, the bus was about 10 mins late and we said goodbye to I-Drive!

When we arrived at check-in we joined the queue and a girl came down the line checking our passports and bags. She lifted our flight bag up and said we needed to take something out it was too heavy, she was weighing it!! How can they tell just by lifting it?? Anyway I took the camcorder out and she said it was fine. After check-in we went to the food court to get some lunch. We didn’t look in any shops, we didn’t dare! Then I was on to gate 85 for our flight. Once through the security gate we went in the duty free shop to use our last few dollars and headed for the gate.

We flew home on Hot Lips; Pretty Woman was next to it going to Gatwick. We were sat in 47a,b,c which were ok. We took off a few minutes late and settled down for the 7 hrs 15 mins the captain said it would take. After about an hour dinner was served, beef stew or chicken pasta. DH and DS had stew they said it was ok, I had pasta that was nice, the key lime cheesecake was tasty! Once this was cleared and drinks had been served we settled down to sleep. Now I normally sleep ok on a plane, but I couldn’t drop off on this flight! So far into the flight we hit turbulence, it was quite bumpy for quite a while and I started to feel sick. I found that I couldn’t really relax myself enough now to even try to sleep so I just watched TV. About an hour or so before we were due to land we got breakfast, melon and grapes and a blueberry muffin and fresh orange. I still felt queasy so I slowly nibbled on the melon and grapes and had a cup of nice sweet tea! The landing was the smoothest landing I have ever had I don’t look out of the window on the way up or down, so I only knew we were about to touch down when DS (who looks out of the window from the moment he sits down!) told me. Got through immigration and got our cases fairly quickly and cleared customs.

I rang the car park to arrange to be picked up; this took about half an hour to be collected. We got the car, loaded up and DH drove the 2hr drive home. So it’s over now….back to the real world….until next time!!
