The Next Iron Chef Super Chefs 2011

So not happy right now. Gonna be hard to watch it now. There are a few there I still would cheer on but think they made the wrong choice this week.

i wasn't happy with the outcome this week either. :(

i also don't think it's right that one chef COMPLETELY ignored the challenge and still made it through. why bother having challenges if their favorites will skate through regardless.

So many good chefs on this show. Not sure who is going to win. But I knew that Spike looked familiar, he was on Top Chef. But sad to see Robert Irvine go. I love his Dinner Impossible! Was he crying at the end or tearing up? Or maybe it was just me. :sad1:

We were surprised that Irvine was the one to go last night.

I loved when the judges laid the law down with Samuelsson about only making the amount of dishes asked for. And with Zacharian for following the rules. (He was lucky his food was so darn good last night or he might have been cooking for his life again).

is it just me...or are Michael Chiarelli (sp?) and Marcus Samuelson (sp?) the most 'full of themselves' chefs in the competition?..they are both annoying the heck out of me. I like Anne, and I like Beau..and am pulling for them to make it till the end..something about Robert Irvine has always bothered me, but I can't put my finger on what!
I just can't figure out why Marcus has to keep making more items than they are told to..he's gonna take himself out by doing this I think, which would be ok with me..lol!

I was very disappointed to see Robert leave last night. I thought the other guy (I don't know who he is, so he isn't one of my favorites) should have gone instead.

I told DH Geoffrey wasn't doing what was expected of him, and then they did talk to him about that so I was surprised that he wasn't in the bottom two.

I like the show though, and will continue to watch. Even if all my favorites end up being eliminated, someone's favorite will win. :)

I do like seeing the ones who judge on Chopped squirm over the time limit. :)

Zakarian should have been in the bottom two for not following the rules. And Chiarello(sp?) is a pompous full of himself jerk. Marcus and he could so go soon I can't stand it.

While I like Beau I just don't see him going to the end. I am cheering on Anne but she should do something with her hair I know she is going for the electrocuted look its a hot mess and even though I think she has a chip on her shoulder I am going to probably hope that Alex G goes pretty far because I love watching her squirm under the time limit. Maybe when she goes back to Chopped this will make her stop looking down on the contestants and help her not be such a witch with them.

They are the 2 in that group that are actually successful restaurant owners and chefs.

I can't get past the whole Robert Irvine making up his resume thing.
this from an article
"Multiple claims by Irvine, including creating Princess Diana's wedding cake, cooking for White House dinners, being knighted by the queen, and more, have turned out to be tall tales"
But clearly the food network has decided he's a good enough chef to let him come back to his job. Lies or not.

Michael Chiarello is a pompous patoot and deserves to be kicked off. Soon. As soon as possible. And Zakarian can go with him.

You know, this isn't just about winning, but also about becoming an Iron Chef. I can't see Ellen or Beau with "the look", the stern stare, the current Iron Chefs have. Marcus either. Geoffrey, Anne, Alex, Michael - yes. Chuck, maybe.

Yes I know Michael is a successful restaurant owner so are many in the group doesn't mean he has to be a pompous jerk about things.

I knew about Robert's trouble with his resume right after it happened but I chose not to let it bother me. This is jmho. Why because NO ONE is perfect, some time in life for whatever reason we have embellished things. I don't believe for a second that there is any person any where that is so pure and honest that they can say that they have never embellished the truth for whatever reason (to make them, a friend, a spouse, a family member look bigger or better then they are) in most cases people figure out the truth and move on. Does it mean someone like Robert isn't a good chef? no, just means that they didn't have the self-confidence to go into the situation whatever that may be, and say this is me, these are my qualifications (without embellishment) and you'd be silly not to hire me. I'm sure the number of people trying to land a gig on Food Network is high, and he felt that if he didn't stand out he'd never have a shot at it.

There must be enough people who like Robert because it was the viewers who went on a Bring Robert back campaign that helped him make a return to the network. I for one am glad they did, as I think that everyone deserves a second chance.

Oh and I agree that Michael comes off as pompous jerk. Marcus became famous very young. We ate at Aquavit when he was the executive chef. He came out to speak with us. Very proper and polished for his age was the way I would describe him. So I may have a warm spot in my heart for him because I met him. (I may be overlooking blatant pompous stuff with my rose colored glasses)

My favorite is Chuck. I just like watching his show on the cooking channel. But I am guessing Anne may win because she's been in the Iron Chef arena with Mario so many times she isn't fazed by the stress of it.

Edited by me.

I agree about second chances, I enjoyed chef Robert Before the incident & afterwards :thumbsup2

I feel that he is the underdog of the network, when he participated in "All Stars Chopped" they gave him a hard time too. I couldn't believe they kicked him out yesterday, it seemed IMHO that other chefs made worse dishes & mistakes :headache:

I will miss him on this show, he was my favorite.

I like Robert a lot, I really do. But I'm sorry, padding your resume isn't something everyone does. Robert lied.

And like all Food Network shows, I really feel the powers that be know who they want to win, and they do what ever they can to make that happen. That doesn't mean I won't watch, but I've given up rooting for someone.

I also like Robert a lot. I think he would have been an entertaining Iron Chef.
I like good personalities for the Iron Chefs too. Love Michael Simon and Bobby Flay. They are fun to watch and listen too.
I would like to see another woman Iron Chef. Ann would be my choice.....but we'll see how things go. Not sure Alex could deal with the stress. :rotfl:

I may be in the minority but I like Alex. She has a great sense of humor and doesn't seem to take herself too seriously.
