::The Newlyweds Return-A *Birthday* Celebration and *MNSSHP!* TR FINISHED! ::

Busted. :rolleyes1
I read earlier but had to run before I could comment. Sounds like a nice, not so lazy, lazy day. The Fort sounds like so much fun. It offers so much so you don't have to be bored when you aren't at the park or DTD. :)
Yay! 31 days!
Can't wait to hear about MNSSHP!

lol it's ok.

It was SUCH a fun day. The best of the trip def.

Loved your River Country pictures. That was the highlight of the the vacation in the 70's and 80's. My kids couldn't wait to get there and then didn't want to leave. Their favorite memory of River Country is that they had the best chocolate chip cookies in the world.

Oh that's so cool. I dont remember the chocolate chip cookies unfortunately! I'm glad you enjoyed the pics!

I like your exploration pics of River Country. I miss that place. Sounds like you had a nice and relaxing day at FW. Can't wait for more. Hope your able to get a tent site for your next visit...that would be a cool experience.

I miss it too! I knew I had to get some pictures for my Dis friends who remembered it!!!
I keep checking back for a tent site. But Ft. Wilderness has gotten so popular apparently, I can't find anything for when we can go!

That is so neat that you were able to get some pictures of deserted River Country! I have never been there or seen any pictures of it - I hope Disney does something with all those buildings. Can't wait to hear about the Halloween party, I've never been to that either!

I was SO freakin excited to get those pictures. Such great memories for my family. I wish they'd do something w/them too, even just for the campground. So sad...

Thanks for reading!

Love the pictures from the day at the campground. The bike riding looks like real fun. OMG I can't believe you have pictures of River Country. I went there when I was 8. That was my first trip to Disney and we went to the Magic Kingdom of course and River Country. Wasn't there a part of it that you feed goats. I have a picture of a goat trying to eat my jacket and that's all I talked about when I got home. Or was it just a water park. I remember, I remember. Thanks for bringing back memories of my first trip. I can't wait to see the halloween party.

We had such a good time riding bikes that day. Very nice to take a break from the parks and relax!!

That sound similiar to my first few trips too! MK and River Country! We also went to Discovery Island as well, also now closed.

The goats weren't at River Country, but close! I think you're probably thinknig about the petting farm at Ft. Wilderness, which is right in the same area, near the gates. And it's still there I believe!

I'm glad you enjoyed the pictures and memories!!

Thanks for reading everyone!!!

I'm still here!! I've been a bit busy the past few days! I can't wait to here about MSSHP!!

So when I left off we had gone back to the camper to get ready for MNSSHP!!!! :hmghost:

DH and I both showered and started getting dressed. The whole family had somewhat Halloweenish stuff to wear. I had thought about costumes months ago, but knew how hot it would be and a pain. So, we all just had variations of black and orange. I had an orange tank top over a black one, black shorts and flip flops (CROCS!), and Halloween jewelry...spider necklace and earrings, etc. I had also bought some orange color spray for hair, but decided not to mess w/it. My mom had found a light up Halloween shirt, my dad wore orange, brother wore black, and DH had a Jack Skellington he'd gotten from the Disney store awhile back! AND, I had bought a bunch of glow in the dark bracelets and necklaces from the dollar store for later that night! We also gave my mom a light up 50th bday pin too. We were ready to go!!!

I need to add that it had been raining the entire time we'd been getting ready. I was SO upset. That was my biggest worry, rain all night and the parade/fireworks being canceled, the ONE night we had to go to MNSSHP. But it quit around the time we left, it was cloudy for awhile after that and looked like it would rain at any time, but it never did!!! What luck!

DH and I before we left...

We walked to the back to get on the boat to MK. It was about 20 minutes or so until 4, we knew we could get in w/our tickets then. We didn't wait long for a boat, and we saw a few families coming down the dock all dressed up. I was SO EXCITED!!!

It didn't take us long to get over to the MK, and we pulled in right about 4! I was about to lose it I was so excited to get inside!!

WDWOctober2008159.jpg

We saw the sign to go in to the right, and we got our bracelets. I loved the costumes all the CMs were wearing for the party that night. Interesting story-there was a group of teenagerish kids standing out front. I think you can kinda see them in that picture in front of the train station. SO WEIRD. They were dressed up as weird characters, and they were talking about taking over the MK and stuff, and going up to kids and stuff. SO weird. I told DH they were just asking to get kicked out for acting strange. Who knows if they did...it was just so odd, hard to explain.

We went in, through the train station, and came out on Main Street. I was ECSTATIC. I remember so well, last year reading TR's from this time of year and wanting to go SO BAD! I loved all the Halloween/fall decor and couldn't believe I was actually there!

We went a little nuts taking pictures...

We had an ADR that night at 6:15 for Crystal Palace, but had plenty of time to do some stuff first!! We headed to Tommorowland first! We passed Stitch's Great Escape, and the boys decided to go on it, since none of us ever had. My mom and I weren't interested, so we just hung around in the gift shop we THOUGHT they were going to come out of. The wait time wasn't long so we were just going to wait. We saw the doors where people were coming out, so we knew that was it. Well we waited, and waited, and waited. I took pics...

WDWOctober2008173.jpg

We were like, what the heck??? Finally my brother called my mom asking where we were? They had come out of another exit, apparently there is more than one?? Anyway, they'd waited longer than they expected, and seemed to have enjoyed it. whatever. not my kind of attraction.

Then we went over to Buzz Lightyear. My brother had never ridden it, and based on his enjoyment of TSM, we knew he would like this too. I hadn't ridden alone yet, and wanted DH and my brother to get to ride together and my parents to get to ride together, so I just went first by myself, and then they went together and my parents. Plus this way I didn't have to feel like crap when DH spanked me!! I'm not good at all!

proof..

When we got off, we could see people going into Carousel of Progress, and DH is in love w/this for some reason, so we went in. Halfway through the show DH and I kept seeing some red blinking light, and figured out it was my mom's blinking bday pin! We were sitting in the very front row and it was reflecting off of something, we cracked up. We knew it had to be distracting everyone else too! :rotfl:

We then went to the Peoplemover...bc I love it :lovestruc

It is beautiful, I love that we get to travel w/my parents so much, ESPECIALLY since we get to stay in such high style! lol.

You should def. check it out sometime! The buffet there, Trail's End is awesome, and its just so nice and relaxing at the Fort! I wish more people knew about it!!

Thanks for reading!

Loved your last updates. Can't wait to hear about MNSSHP. popcorn::

Thanks!!! I'm working on the next installment and uploading pics, hopefully will be up sometime soon!

Thanks for reading!!!

Great update! It looks so peaceful at Fort Wilderness - my 15 yr old son would love to rent one of the cabins sometime but I'm having a hard time staying away from BWV (esp with the boardwalk view I'm getting in December  )

My son won't be joining me as planned - he doesn't get the "Disney" magic and wants to wait til his brother goes so we're planning a trip in November for Thanksgiving. Since I'll be there by myself, I plan to go to some attractions that no one else likes to go on. Did you go on Space Mountain (I can't remember if you did)? I'm going to try it this trip plus can't wait to go on Splash (it was closed for refurb on my last trip). Loved all the pics you took of MNSCHP (is that the right abbrev?) Don't you just love Halloween!!

Hey guess what!! We both have 24 more days - woohoo!!!!!!

I always have to take a picture of my feet on the people mover too. Its like a tradition. :rotfl:

Love your family pictures on Main St!!! Ohhh and I agree with your hubby...I love CoP too!!!

Def. think about staying in one of the cabins one day! It's so fun there. I love the BW too, we stayed there a few years ago, its on my list of places to stay at again!

I didn't go on Space Mountain, I'm not into roller coasters, esp ones in the dark. DH loves it though, and will ride it by himself. I do like Splash though, we just didn't ride it this time. Hopefully in December. And HEY, we'll be there the same time it looks like! We're going the 13-21st! CAN'T WAIT!

I always have to take a picture of my feet on the people mover too. Its like a tradition. :rotfl:

Yup, have to take the feet pic!!! It is a tradition! We had so much fun as a family. I love going just with DH but this was just so awesome to have all of us there!!! CoP is great, very nostalgic!

I cannot wait to read your TR by the way! I told you I'm waiting! popcorn::

When I left off we were heading towards Crystal Palace for our ADR! I was very excited for this meal, DH and I had loved it on our honeymoon. I'm not usually real big on buffets, not at Disney at least, but this one is SO good. They have great salads and fresh foods, boiled shrimp...mmmmmm. Plus I had told them it was my mom's bday, and I knew they SHOULD put the confetti on the table like they did for our honeymoon. So I was just really excited about this. Plus we were HUNGRY!

I went up to check in, which only took a minute. The girl verifed the bday, and of course I told her YES. She gave me a buzzer and I went back to the fam to wait, and it was only maybe 5-10 minutes, not bad at all.

We were seated to the left of the buffet, which was cool bc the previous two times I've been we've been to the right. And when we got there, they did put the confetti all over the table! YAY! My mom was very excited, and asked if I had something to do w/it! :rolleyes1

We were ready to EAT, so we started going up to the buffet right after we got our drinks. It was all sooo good. They have some awesome southwest like chicken salad, and I loooove chicken salad. We all filled our plates at least a few times!!

The characters started coming around, which was alot of fun. On our honeymoon we didn't really interact w/them alot, they would wave and come by, but DH and I just don't really get into it. But this was fun w/the whole family, and of course my mom got alot of attention bc of her bday!

pics...

WDWOctober2008182.jpg

WDWOctober2008183.jpg

then the parade started so the characters all left for that!

WDWOctober2008184.jpg

confetti...

WDWOctober2008186.jpg

all the characters came by, but for some reason I don't have pics? I dont remember if I didn't take any at all, or what? I know my mom has some, bc she has some of me w/characters. I never did get them from her. oh well.

I got Tigger going by...

WDWOctober2008185.jpg

after we saw all the characters we got some dessert. mmmm. They had this amazing pumpkin cheesecake. AWESOME. And some bread pudding, which wasn't as good as OHana of course, but still good. And then they brought this out for mom...

WDWOctober2008188.jpg

After we finished up and headed back outside it was dark so it looked AWESOME. Everything was all lit up and spooky, I LOVED it. I took this one of the castle!

WDWOctober2008187.jpg

We stood there for a few minutes and got out all the glow bracelets and necklaces I had brought. Of course the men weren't into that at all, so my mom and I had about 3 bracelets and at least one necklace apiece. SO FUN!

We also stopped to do a few photopass pictures

This is a bad pic but I just loved the colors in the castle and added the border...

usedited.jpg

I wanted to go see Main Street and get some pics there too...
WDWOctober2008189.jpg

You can't really see it, but they had stuff projected onto the buildings and on the street. I was so excited I could barely contain it!

I was wanting to pull my hair up bc it was pretty hot, but I had broke the only elastic I had, so we ran in one of the shops on Main St. to get one. I got one of the little twisty things that has the two Mickey heads on it! Very cool, and I will use it every trip!

Then it was time for some RIDES and CANDY! The boys were SO excited to get candy, it was hilarious. My dad was acting like a big kid hunting out the trick or treating paths. We went into Adventureland, and went through the first one we saw, at the Jungle Cruise...I took this pic of the big blow up Pumbaa outside...

WDWOctober2008190.jpg

Then we went on POTC! I LOVE this ride. We walked RIGHT ON, it was so awesome. We saw all kinds of cool costumes while we were there too.

After the ride we walked over to the candy station right across from there. Those boys wanted their candy!

We walked around over to Frontierland, and by this time it was getting close to time for the first parade, so we decided to sit and wait for it, while we could still get a good spot.

While we were waiting CMs were doing activities keeping the kids entertained. We watched people walk by, fascinated by all the costumes! I am SO impressed when I see how creative people can be!

WDWOctober2008192.jpg

Soon it was time for the parade!!

I tried to get a picture of the infamous Headless Horseman, of course I didn't do very good...

And I just love this next picture. I can't think of her name, but this cow was HILARIOUS. She was dancing all over the place, it was just so funny. So I was taking a picture as she walked by, and she just completely stopped and posed for me. Everyone cracked up. I love it.

WDWOctober2008224.jpg

And I had to take this for DH, he loves the Country Bears...

This is just small amount of the TONS of pictures I took of the parade! IT. WAS. AWESOME.

Definitely the best Disney parade I've seen. I just fell in love w/it...my mom and I both agreed that the party tickets were worth the parade alone. And we hadn't even seen Hallowishes yet!

Which is coming up next!!

Oooooh! I just love MNSSHP. We never miss it. Definitely the best parade and getting on the rides is so quick and easy. Looks like you guys have quite a nice time. :cool1:

ETA: I think the cow's name is Clarabelle
