I watch Trading Spaces on a "If I catch it on" basis--I don't watch TV that much, but, if I am watching TV and see Trading Spaces is on, I'll watch it.

I really, really hated that bedroom with the moss on the wall...Yuck!

there was an episode on this past weekend...it was 2 younger couples in texas i think. anyway they lived in an apartment building and they swapped to do each other's living rooms. in the one living room, the couple said that they could just about handle anything and wanted something wild...

have you seen this one?

it was actually ok...but the designer (doug) painted the walls this blood red color...again, not so bad. he was going for this goth kind of look.

anyway, the previous posts about pictures and teddies reminded me of this...doug (designer) found a picture of the girl in her dresser. he had this picture blown up and framed to put above the fireplace. it was a picture of her in a black bra and some undies laying on a couch i think. it was a good picture of her, but it was obviously not meant for anyone's eyes but her and her husband's! and now that picture has been broadcast on national tv!! she was cool about it...a little embarassed but she had to admit that the picture looked really good in the living room with the theme...

i would just die of utter embarassment!! thinking of someone taking a picture of me...teddies...shudder...

That one I saw! I would be too embarrassed, too, but, I read some interesting thoughts about it on the Trading Spaces BB.

Think about it---the designers don't go snooping through drawers and personal spaces....

The husband didn't seem at all surprised about it.....

The wife wasn't too upset about it.....

Concensus seemedto be that the husband gave it to them or requested that it be used in some way...with the wifes permission

that's what i told my fiance! he said that he would have been so angry if they had rummaged through his drawers and found and used something so personal!! i think that it was planned too...

and cookie...not even with a great big giant teddy bear!!! i'm too shy, not to mention sweet and innocent for stuff like that...


(just don't ask my fiance about my sweetness and my innocence)

I watched Trading Spaces just about every weekday afternoon from August 24 2002 (when I got out of hospital after hysterectomy) until I went back to work early October. And the Make-over Show, and the Wedding show and the Baby show....they never had those in the right order Except Sept 11th and the rest of that week . Anyway DD LOVES the show and watches often, but I'm never really watching TV when its on.

I'm not volunteering for the photo.......though I do have an interesting one of me holding a wooden sign that says "Excuse us while we remodel " or something to that effect.....clowning around at my sisters house in Florida a couple of yrs ago ...her DH was doing some remodeling while we were trying to lounge about poolside on the lanai, and I jokingly said they should have one of those signs ....one thing led to another, we mage a sign and I posed holding in front of me. I hade my bathing suit on but the sign covered from shoulder to top of thigh, the swimsuit straps were pushed lower on the shoulders so it LOOKS like I have nothing on under it. DBIL has the photo framed hehehehe

Called today on my blood work. CBC, Glucose and TSH all within normal. WHY oh why do I feel sorta crummy still ??? I need a trip to Disney World hehehehe

This is scary Bob--but, I've been wondering the same thing...

I've heard the ending is rather depressing/sad. though, and that may be enough to turn me away from seeing it at this point in my life.

Lord knows, I don't need any more sadness thrown at me right now.

On the other hand, I rented Kate and Leopold a few weeks ago and I keep going back and renting it again (no DVD player here and I can't find it on VHS).

That's my kind of movie~~ I love a love story with a happy ending. ***SIGH***
I think I live vicariously through them.

On another note, some other nurses and I are trying to figure a way to come visit you in October. Well, maybe not you, because you leave the country when I visit and it would just be for a week-end (when you're not around anyway) and I have to find decent (read--cheap) airfare with primo flight times (to make the most of the abbreviated stay) or I can't afford to go anyway, but, this Annual Pass is screaming to get out into the air again and they want to go and I want to go.....and I do have enough points left (after these little week-end jaunts I'm taking the boys on,,,) for 1 free night.....so, who knows??

I'll let you know is we're able to make it happen....so you can plan another "get Bob out of Florida" trip!

Yeah, Bob--the only way to avoid me now, is to plan back-to-back-to-back cruises for a very long time.

Hello all my friends. I know I've been away from here for awhile, but Lora and I have been making some life changing decisions. After much thought and deliberation, we've decided to quit our jobs and move to Austin, TX to be by the kids and grandkids.

We put the house up for sale and it sold in 8 days. We've given our notice at work and we will be on our way to Texas on Aug. 22. We don't know if it was the right thing to do or not.

Leaving AZ is very sad for me. It's been our home for almost 20 years. I always thought that if we ever left, it would be to move to Orlando.(I did lobby to move there for awhile).

Also, leaving our perfectly good jobs is very scary. I hope we know what we're doing.

Of course once we get to Texas we plan on a little trip to WDW in September just to get us pumped up and ready to look for new jobs and start our new lives.

I will get back here more often now that the wheels are in motion.

Wow.Milo and lora-----when you guys decide to do something, you get right to it!

I think I would be scared to death---mainly about the job thing and I'm a nurse! I applaude you for your bravery. And, I don't blame you for wanting to be closer to the grandbabies. They were sooooo cute!

September?? Can't it be October, in case I can work out a trip, too? Then, Bob would only have to leave town once.


Anyway--good luck on the move and jobs and changes and keep us posted.


But, Milo--what about the band and your instrument????? Who's going to play with you if you leave them???
