The "Newest" Moms Hangout...

We used Mylicon with Lucas for a few months when he was little.

We didn't put it in his bottles, though. Gave it to him before he ate.

DS has got bad gas recently and I would like your thoughts on Mylicon and Gripe Water.
I read you can put both in his bottles at every feeding to help with the gas.

A dr once told me that mylicon is given many times unneeded, and does very little when you do give it.

I recommend, what I recommended for Adi, A product called BioGaia. It works well with Jake. Its a probiotic that helps baby to help clear the gut. It's 5 drops a day and works great. You dont see it in the store on the shelf because its in the pharmacy in the refrigerator (however, it is still considered over the counter- no perscription needed). Ive seen amazing improvement in Jakes gas. He had it really bad from his milk allergy. His colon has spots in it that have caused issues even after the allergy. Im really glad the nurse at the GI dr's office told us about it. Its been a life saver.

I feel the same way... now that our DD is here I can"t imagine life without her. I can't even begin to understand how those parents might feel. So sad :sad2:

On a different note.... Did anyone's LO have baby acne? I feel like DD had a few spots on her cheek a few days ago and now it is a lot more on her cheek and on her chin as well. I read that it is normal for babies to have this, but I just feel so bad. I don't think that there is anything that I can do, but I am just patting it with a warm washcloth morning and night. I have her one month appt on Monday so I will ask about it then, but I was just wondering in the meantime if anyone has had any experience with this.

Mine had it HORRIBLY (I'll try and find a picture soon) - Dr. told me to use a warm cloth to wipe her face (esp. after nursing), to only bath her with baby soap (no soap on the face) and be sure that anything touching her face was washed in baby detergent or a free and clear. I also put Aquaphor (sp?) on her face - and though it seems counter intuitive because it is greasy feeling - it worked wonders! It was gone about a week (or maybe two) after that - and she had a bad case - ALL OVER her face, ears, neck - looked like she had a rash.

For us little tummys worked better than Mylicon. We just got the BioGaia today(came in the mail - free shipping and no tax - we had a hard time finding a pharamacy that carried it and a couple said they would order it but it never came). I cannot wait to see what it does - although her bad gas has not been so bad for a couple weeks now, but she has had some painful gas once or twice. We were giving her little tummy after every feeding - now we only have been if she didn't burp - and we are not going to give her any while we try the BioGaia.

You can't even imagine.:guilty:

All three boys...like clockwork. Of course it's at the point when you want to start getting really good pictures:lmao:! I didn't do too much..I didn't want to irritate it more. We were already using sensitive skin everything. It doesn't last that long, although it can feel like forever. Try not to let it bother you, it happens to so many babies!:goodvibes

So, I may have missed it (sorry if I did) but how was Elliott's baptism?? Time flies, it seriously seems like you joined us yesterday!!

I had to go into L&D Friday night for a Rhogam injection and I would just like to reiterate how happy I am that I didn't have to get it in the butt like some of you guys. That thing burns!

*eta* Anyone using EnfaGrow from Enfamil? I got a sample can and 2 checks in the mail over the weekend. Let me know if anyone can use it..

Baptism was wonderful!! Everything went as planned!

A few pics:

The awesome cake my sister made!

I hope the cake was as tasty as it was beautiful! :)

Our son's baptism is coming up in April. We are looking forward to getting the family together for that event. So glad to see your son had a great day yesterday!

The cake was great! I already told her she is making Elliott's cake for his first birthday, too!

I went to those consignment sales today. Chanon, the PolkaDotTots one was MUCH better than the Three Bags Full one. Though Three Bags Full had pictures of their other sales up and they were much larger.

Thanks! We ended up not making the drive because we are going to DH's parents for Easter (8 hour drive each way) and then two weeks later to DH's brothers (4 hour drive each way) for his wedding. Busy Busy!
I did find a consignment sale about 20 minutes away from me for 4/10. I'll be going to that one for sure! I need to find a comfortable clothes basket to take with me for toys and whatnot and am on the lookout for a decent stroller for the sitter/summertime.

Cathy told her parents that we are expecting another baby.

Her mom asked her if I knew how to use condoms.
Her dad told her that he wasn't happy about it because she is 'fat and old'.

In-laws from hell, I tell you.

WOW. I know Im a little late on this... But DANG. Thats horrid.

You can ignore my PM, I see you are going!

I'm more tempted to go so I can meet you than really buy anything! :grouphug:

Thanks everyone for all of the finger food suggestions! We really need to start getting her on a dining schedule and exposing her to more table food! I probably wouldn't care except I would like things to be a bit more predictable for Disney.

I'll be leaving Alex home with DH - This is serious shopping! :rotfl: You might find that Baby Jogger your DH wanted.... I'll be one of the fools standing in line! If you planned on coming down, let me know and I'll send you my cell number.

Did you all have to take classes to get your babies baptised. Our church says we have to take classes.

Hey all. I'm a little sad today. I've attempted to BF little Emma, hoping to supplement until she was about 6 months. My supply is a total joke now. I can barely produce an oz+ after pumping for 20 mins. It just bums me out, like I'm a disappointment. I am grateful I was able to pump/BF as long as I did since I know there are some that can't do it at all. It just stinks. :guilty:

Hmmm...maybe. I'll think about it and talk to DH. I need to figure how long I would be away.

:hug::hug::hug:

You are NOT a disappointment! You gave Emma the best possible start and now she's moved on to a new phase.

Nope. But we are Methodist. We asked the preacher about doing it, and he told us he wanted to do it the next weekend. Most of my family wasn't even there-there was a conflict (that really didn't have to be a conflict....). There was no food or party or anything.

Sorry. I do understand how hard that is. I only got a few days of nursing dd10, and it has bothered me all these years.

my older 2 were baptised at the same church, the one I grew up in. I had to take a class w/the godparents prior to my oldest son having his baptism. I wouldn't even call it a class, it talked about what baptism is and the importance of godparents and went thru what to expect at ceremony. 2nd ds...didn't have to go, as we had already had 1 ds baptised there.

youngest I had baptised where we live and one of us had to go to a "class" again I really wouldn't call it a class. we went thru what will happen at the ceremony and actually decorated the candles that we used in the ceremony. Both of these were about 30 minutes each, no big deal.

I forgot to tell you guys!

My SIL's 2 best friends (my friends too!) are both pregnant! We're all the same age. I have my own built in new mommies group! Now if my bff could just get preggers, the world would be right.
