The "Newest" Moms Hangout...

BTW I got a PIN!!!!!

It's for free dining!! The only issue is that it doesn't start until the 15th and DH goes back to school on the 23rd, so we're going to have to do a split stay.

Oh and a couple of friends are lending me their carriers so I can figure out what kind I like and if Lily likes it. I'm getting an Ergo, a Beco and a hotsling so far....I'm hoping someone will lend me a wrap to try too. Today is a good day!!

I'm glad it isn't just me. I don't use it often, because it takes so long to clean it! But she does love it. I flip it in and out, scrubbing with a sponge, then run it through the dishwasher (and sometimes repeat:confused3).

I give up on work. And I feel like mother of the year right now......Ds12 has been complaining with his left ear all week, but we've had so many other problems I just kept telling him it was probably his sinuses. I crashed last night-no sleep since Sat night to amount to anything. I got them up this morning, and ds12 started crying. He said he was in a lot of pain, and he tried to wake me up at midnight but I wouldn't get up-I told him to take some Tylenol and go to bed.:guilty: I have a very vague memory of this.

I was still determined we were going to school. But he looked so pitiful, so I called in again. I took Katie to daycare (my town), took assignments to my school, dd10 to her school, then went to ds12's school (schools are 10 miles to the east of my town) to get his books and assignments, then to the dr. (10 miles to the west of my town).

We got in pretty quick, and the NP took one look and said he has the worst ear infection she has seen all month. I felt so bad. He cannot go back to school before Mon, and maybe not then. She wrote two prescriptions, but said he may need some special antibiotic that is expensive and has to be ordered!?! I have to call her on Sun (she is dh's cousin and a childhood friend of mine) and let her know if he is better. If not, she is calling the pharmacy to special order the other drug.

OH, and she doesn't think we had a virus. She thinks we all had the flu! There is a type going around that is causing all the stomach stuff.

Congrats on the pin!

Thanks! I think the lure of free dining is the only thing that could convince DH to go that close to back to school. hehehe He'll deal if it means awesome free (ish) food!!

We SOOOO want to do a cruise!! But.. We cant. We cant get a passport for my oldest, because we cant find his dad. Yee-HAW. :sad2:
If you have sole custody, you can present the order/decree and then you won't need him. Alternatively, you could petition for sole custody.

Not really.. I can file a form for something.. I dont know, it has been a while since I looked. I called and asked and the lady said I can apply with extenuating circumstances... But it would most likely NOT get approved.
You would fill out a form DS-3053. You actually would have a pretty good chance with it if you have afidavits from others, I think.

Man, I am jealous of you guys!!!

A PIN was what convinced me to go in October. We got the Buy 5 get 2 free + $100 GC pin code for last fall.

I'm really glad I haven't gotten one because it would probably put me into irrational "What if..." thoughts! :rotfl:

Tell me about it! This just isn't a good year to try to plan a WDW trip..... but we got the 30/35/40 % off code and I keep trying to think of a way to make it work........... We need a bigger house, but can't afford more house.... vacations are or should be pretty far down on the list of where to spend our money.....

Yeah, we need to finish paying off all the work we did to this house. We took advantage of the Lowes promotional financing of pay no interest for a year. Well, our year is up on Valentine's Day and if we don't give them all 4k we're going to owe the interest from the entire year. Eeek! At least the carpet and dishwasher are pretty... :rotfl:
It's totally not in the works to do a vacation other than our trip to the beach. We're renting a 3 bedroom oceanfront condo from my mom's best friend for the week (her time share). $550- which we're splitting with my best friend and her hubby. A week at the beach for $275? I'll take it! That is about all we can swing.

Depressing, though. I miss Disney!

I got the 15 - 20 - 25 pin code yesterday. :rotfl: We are going on the 5th so I am not planning anything as of yet. DH is not really in to Disney, he would rather go hunting. I only got him to agree on going now by staying off-site and doing Universal. Plus we are hoping that the weather is nice.

DH has already started a countdown for our next trip. The summer isn't that far away, really. :thumbsup2 I'm done with winter.

We had an awesome day today. My DS2 went potty twice and our little one had some bites of real food. I gave him little bits of Baby Mum Mum and he kept opening his mouth for more. Yea! He's really loving sweet potatoes at the moment and has been satisfied more with food so he's not nursing every hour or two. I think I'll be able to sneak away for a movie this weekend! :woohoo:

did any of you guys try these things? www.bnatal.com

My OB's office gave me literature and suggested them. Just curious if anyone tried them! They said the only know of one local pharmacy to carry them in stock so I'm going to swing by tomorrow and see if they still have them.

Sux that he is so inconsistant. Since he seems to pop in & out of your life at random, maybe next time he pops in you could float the idea of voluntarily surrendering parental rights (and any child support committment) to clear the way for your DH to formally adopt Alex?

Alex is big/old enough to know the difference between biological father & dad, and it seems your DH is the only dad hes ever known -- likewise any change in legal status won't ever change who his biological father is. Just an idea, don't know if Alex's father would be the type to agree or be difficult. Maybe speak to a family lawyer to find out what would be needed to do all that.....
I mentioned it.. and he said NO FREAKING WAY. I wish he would make it easy, but he wont. It has honestly been a long time since I have even looked into what we need to do. Since he has apparently stopped paying child support again, and stopped showing up.. I am going to look into it again.
Okay, those of you with the mesh feeder!

How do you get those things clean?!?!?! I've run it through the dishwasher, tried to clean it by hand... but it's still not "clean"... grrr!
I ran mine thorugh the washing machine. Not on purpose.. it somehow got mixed in with the laundry, but it came out super clean!:lmao:Then I washed it by hand again.. Just in case there was any funkies on it.. but it came out REALLY clean in the washing machine!

I got a sample of them from my Dr. and they were WONDERFUL!! The only thing that helped my morning sickness.. which was BRUTAL. But they were really new then, and I couldnt find ANYWHERE that had them. I was so upset! but they really worked well for me. :thumbsup2:thumbsup2

Hmmm. I'll try the washer tomorrow. Goodness knows I have a ton of laundry to do.

I don't know what else to try in it, though. Other than bananas. He wasn't wild about the blueberries. DH ate the last banana so I guess I'll have to get some of those, too. It never ends!

Random thought, but I started to get a little excited at my OB appt. today. She asked if I would be delivering at ABC hospital (my OB's office is in the hospital, which is Catholic) and I said yes because there is absolutely no way I would deliver at XYX hospital.
She asked if I wanted to do a VBAC (apparently I am allowed to attempt one, it would just be induced to ensure they can monitor me) and I said nope, scheduled c-section. She then said "Do you want to get your tubes tied?"
Which 1) I thought was strange because I didn't think they would do it at my age- 22 &
2) I got excited because I thought I might have been wrong about not being able to get it done at ABC hospital (since they're Catholic)

Sadly, though... she crushed my hope when I asked and she said "Well, no. You can't do it here."
*sigh*
Apparently she didn't understand just how strongly I was refusing to deliver at XYZ hospital. Oh, well.

I did melon.. apple... berries.. anything I could chop up and stick in there.

You know, my Dr. never did mention me getting my tubes tied. I didnt bring it up either.. I delivered at a Catholic Hospital, but I honestly have no idea if they do that there!

Are you kidding me? They come out with these things NOW? Figures.

I'd have been all over those.:rotfl:

Anyone else have a problem getting numb at the dentist? When I was young, I had to be put to sleep to have some stubborn baby teeth pulled because the novacaine wouldn't take. Never had a problem again until a couple of months ago when I went for a root canal. He gave me about 20 shots and couldn't get me numb (I don't even want to tell you how they tested my tooth:scared1:). Sent me home, tried again to no avail. Finally on the the 3rd attempt, they sent me to my dentist first to give me some shots and then on to the root canal guy. That time it finally worked. Sad thing was, the root canal was only like 15 or 20 minutes.

Anyway, last night I had to go get a couple of cavaties filled and I could feel the drilling!:scared1::scared1::scared1: I was physically shaking and kept telling him that it hurt. I was told that it was just the vibrations.....finally he said he'd give me another booster (shot). Couldn't feel anything after that. Hmmm, maybe that's cuz I wasn't numb before?!!!!!! They had the rest of my mouth so numb that I could barely swallow. :sad2:

Anyone else have this problem? Crazy!!!

Oh, they need to give me a bunch of extra shots to truly numb me up. And honestly I have a pretty high pain threshhold, so unless I'm getty very intrusive work (like w/ the periodontist or a root canal) done, I ususally deal w/ a bit of discomfort rather than ask for more novacaine.

When I really do get numb (after a whole lot of shots) it takes hours to wear off & my whole face is numb, I don't like it. I figure that I must have some funky circulation in my jaw/ face, as the first shot never numbs where they are trying to numb up.

Ugh, I hate those shots. I refuse them.

I'm a freak, I know. I had a filling replaced (it was falling out or some strangeness) in July so I popped one of the mega-Vicodin I had left from my c-section and went sans pain meds. I just can't do the shots.

I don't know how you guys get multiple shots?!?!

I've gone through natural childbirth multiple times, but I HATE tooth pain. :lmao:

So, we leave for Disney in a week and I am not even close to being ready. I've decided to keep Dylan out of school this week to prevent any illness coming home.;)

Took Luca to the doctor today. He's been having congestion and breathing issues the last couple of weeks (same time he's been on milk) so I thought maybe he has a milk allergy. They gave him an antibiotic for the congestion (since he's had it on and off for the last 4 months) and we are to try some soy milk and see if that makes a difference. Poor kid.
