It’s been since 2018 that we visited. Then we were pushing 2 medically fragile kids in wheelchairs. Now I’m in an electric wheelchair and my husband is sporting a walker. Reservations are made for Coronado Springs in early September.
I’m full of questions.
First is there a specific room/area we should request at Coronado Springs? We can upgrade a little if needed.
Second, we hope to use the handicapped Minnie Vans to get to and from the parks. We’ll try to save on the vans by going to one park per day.
We’re open to any suggestions, advice or criticism.

On MVs- You cannot always get an accessible MV, they only have a few. Each MV can take 2 ECVs or wheelchairs. We have had instances where we've waited like 15-20 mins to be assigned and then gotten kicked out of the queue and tried again and gotten kicked out after another 15-20 mins as there simply weren't any available so you may have to bus sometimes. Make sure to leave enough time in your schedule for that. (You're looking at about $50/one way for MVs btw.)

If you’re staying CSR, and you do end up having to use the bus, note that the first bus stop/pick-up is at the casitas and the last is the tower. I might book a preferred room in the casitas so you’re close to the central area/tower and also that first bus pick-up.

The wait for an accessibale MV is no jokers we got one early in morning but it was a 30-min wait and we were going to breakfast at 7:30 at Kona Cafe. So we we requested that ride at 6:45ish. It was stressful. We now just take the bus and plan a lot of time around that.

You guys are great. Can I request the casitas? Also is it difficult to get a no accessible MV? Can I fold my chair into the non accessible? The only people will be my husband and myself.

MV availability at peak times is hit or miss, and you will definitely be waiting a while.

If you don’t need a MV specifically regular Lyft availability is typically better, but watch the size that you order to see if you’ll be able to fit your chair in.

We used regular Lyft last fall for rope dropping, and it was awesome!

I use a scooter and we were at Coronado in February. AS someone said earlier Casitas is the first stop. We stayed in the tower, but went to Casitas every morning to load the bus and were able to get on an empty bus.
