The "Newest" Moms Hangout...

Ahh!! We want Super Mario Bros so bad but we know we'll get sucked in and can't afford to do that with school right now. So we've held off.. How is it???
We've been playing Scrabble together on Facebook, haha.

Really awesome!!! We were very good last night and finished all of our homework first (for once ;)). It's so cool to play together...they should have done that years ago. The only reason we ended up getting it was we got a reward certificate in the mail....it was just too good to pass up.:thumbsup2 I highly recommend it!!!!!!

Sears is going to have boxes of the pods for $9.99 on Black Friday. I was going to try to buy a few. Otherwise I think you're right... Amazon is probably the cheapest. It's much cheaper to buy the machine from them than Sears, even with Sears black Friday sale!!

I've also heard that people get them at Bed, Bath and Beyond with the coupons. Not sure how cheap they are :confused3. When it's time to buy one for us, I will have to come to you for the best deals! :goodvibes

I'm back to work today. I cried three times yesterday and I'm holding strong right now. Wish me luck! (And it figures I have the most happy baby in the world right now too!)

Good luck today! If it's any consolation, there's a part of us stay-at-home mom's that wish we were you today.

No worries Patsy! I knew you were joking. :teeth: I'm the same way with sports - I flop between the White Sox (DH) and the Indians (though I really favor the Indians) and for football i could care less...

I didn't mean anything by it, sorry if it came across as offensive. I, personally, could give a crap less. I don't do sports.
There is just still a lot of bitterness over what Rodriguez did to WVU here. (leaving them for Michigan and lying to the university about it, etc.) That is all I meant. :thumbsup2
I don't see a lot of Michigan stuff anymore because of it, so it stands out when I do. :rotfl:

Well, I'm an Ohio State fan, and I think UM needs to get rid of Dick Rod yesterday. There's a band in Columbus called the Dead Schembechlers; they have a song called "Rodriguez is a Weasel". I totally agree with that. Michigan needs to find a real man at coach, someone whom we Buckeye fans can respect and fear.

West Virginia folk got soaked now they're broke
Rodriguez is a weasel
no joke they woke he's gone like smoke
Rodriguez is a weasel
in a flash a dash with a stash of cash
Rodriguez is a weasel
Rodriguez is a weasel
Rodriguez is a weasel
he's a weasel
Rodriguez is a weasel
Rodriguez is a weasel
he's a weasel
his idea of fun take the money and run
he ain't a wolverine he's a weasel

he had a secret meet-o quite discreet-o in Toledo
Rodriguez is a weasel
said hello to grow his flow of dough
Rodriguez is a weasel
a crook for what he took give the schnook the hook
Rodriguez is a weasel

Rodriguez is a weasel
Rodriguez is a weasel
he's a weasel
Rodriguez is a weasel
Rodriguez is a weasel
he's a weasel
he'll sign any line with a dollar sign
took your money jack he ain't comin' back
there's nobody better better with a paper shredder

he ain't a wolverine he's a weasel
he ain't a wolverine he's a weasel
he ain't a wolverine he's a weasel
he ain't a wolverine he's a weasel

Hey girls. I havent been on in what seems like forever.

Jake is 2 and a half months, almost 12lbs, and we are teething. He also is getting over a virus- so ive been a little preoccupied. Im glad i can keep up with a lot of you girls on facebook though.

IF anyone has any enfamil checks they dont need-- i could put them to great use. Jake has terrible silent reflux and is on Enfamil AR ready to feed and its about $6 a day for us right now.

If anyone needs Good Start checks let me know. I have a ton of them...

With breastfeeding, I never signed up for any formula deals. How can I get the checks and send them to you? On their website?

Lisa, we don't have a Bed, Bath and Beyond. I do get the coupons occassionally so I'll look next time I'm around one.
I go to the one at Easton in Columbus sometimes... I'm addicted to that shopping area. :rotfl: And Brio. :lovestruc: My brother used to live next to the Mall at Millenia in Orlando and he got me hooked on Brio when I would visit him... yum!
And yes... checks come through the various sign ups on the various formula websites.
I don't get them anymore. I guess they think we're done.

Laura, that is toooo funny! I might have to forward that to my brother!! I guess when he listed his house in Morgantown no one would touch it.. I'm not sure if it's even sold yet. I just thought it was hilarious. The song makes me curious, though... I had thought that Rod lost out in court against WVU. I thought he had to pay the $10million back.

Either way, he's a waste of space. I will never understand situations like that... it reminds me of the women who have an affair and think the man will really leave his wife for her and they'll be happy. Is that a strange comparison?
Kinda like... if Rod screwed WVU, he'd screw Michigan, too. Who'd want that for a coach??

Maggie, do you have a KMart? I *think* I got a $5 off printable with my receipt. I'll have to look for it.

Ok. That was too weird. I just got my mail and there was an Enfamil check...only thing is, it's for Enfagrow for $7. 10-36 months. Anyone want it? (expires 1/31/10)

Enfagrow?

Why do they make formula sound like it's plant food!?

I don't know what happened with the money, but the song's been around a little while so it probably was written before any legal stuff was settled. You can hear it on www.myspace.com/deadschembechlers (beware, there are other songs that are not, um, "family friendly"). The line "He ain't a Wolverine, he's a weasel" is spot on. I hope Rod leaves asap and Michigan gets a decent guy as coach.

I love it that the Buckeyes are beating them every year these days, but I want it to be competitive, otherwise the rivalry's boooring.

Okay, back to baby stuff! :)

I really love the idea she gave for the to/from labels on that website!!

As for Christmas stuff... DH gets a subscription to XBox magazine. I swear he's like a kid, not an almost 28 year old. ;)
I think he'll also be getting a Keurig coffee maker. I don't drink coffee and he doesn't drink a lot. He also loves gadgets and toys and things so that is probably what I'll give him.
My parents always ask for ideas so I'll let them buy a box of pods for it. :)
Anyone here have a Keurig?

Love my Keurig!! Got it for xmas last year from my mom...she always asks what I want. It works out well for us, hubby likes plane coffee, I like flavored coffee and we never would even drink a whole pot o coffee..saves tons at DD.

Okay, so the news piece about the Storkcraft crib recalls was just on in the other room and they interviewed one of the moms..

She was talking about how she went in and her baby had gotten stuck between the mattress and the drop-side of the crib. Then they showed pictures of the kiddo smiling. (He didn't make it.)

WHY do they do that?? I am in tears now. I cannot imagine.
I had to change the channel. Disney channel. Hannah Montanna.
Ughhh... poor lady and baby. :( :(

I would have hugged Lucas but he'd finally gone to sleep. No way was I waking that kid up!!

How did the talk go with your DH??

OK I guess. He was raised without much maternal influence, by his father, and really is clueless I think. He gets rough with dd10, and when she cries he gets mad. And when she plays rough back, he gets mad:confused3. That was what happened yesterday. He hit her on the behind (playing) and she told him it hurt. He got mad, and she got up and hit him (trying to play back), and he went off on her. I held it together until we got our of earshot of the kids, then I went off. I pretty much told him to keep his hands off of her, because she never knew when he was playing around and when he wasn't. I grew up with girls, and we didn't play rough like that, so I guess it is a boy thing. I told him that girls are different, and he just had to accept it. And that I had bit my tongue for the last time. He didn't say much, but he has been playing nice today!

Thats tough! I'm realizing it's a total guy thing to not see the double-standard in situations like those. That he can hit her but she can't hit back and etc. :-/ Makes it tough.
Now he's got another girl, too!! You'll have to have DD10 secretly train Katie so she can whip some daddy butt. ;)

She's a girly-girl (loves purple, princesses, dancing, etc.) and he likes that (he doesn't want her interested in "boy" stuff). But he doesn't "get" it. He is all about hunting, fishing, playing ball, etc. And so is ds12, which is perfect! They spend alot of time together. But dd10 feels left out, and tries to join in. And then this kind of stuff happens....

Also, she is very unsure of how the baby fits in, and is jealous of her, even though she loves her dearly. So I'm dealing with alot of emotions around here!

He did try hard today though, and it was a pretty good day.

How was work? I know my 1st day I was a crying mess. I got to daycare that afternoon, and she was all smiles! I told dh that at least one of us had on our big girl panties that day!:upsidedow

UGH!! Vinny has been sick for like three days. Snot and drool are flying everywhere.. He is choking on everything. Neither baby is sleeping at ALL. I slept last night sitting up holding Vinny in my arms. AHHHHHHH!! Im tired. BUT!! I got to sleep in a bit this morning, and I woke up to a clean kitchen.. :cool1:AND I figured out how my crib works this morning. :rolleyes1:lmao::lmao: THATS right. I have had the thing put up for almost a year, and I am JUST NOW figuring out how the side works.

I can see that being a problem. DH was ecstatic Lucas was a boy for pretty much the same reasons... he'd have no idea how to handle a girl.
Since we haven't had one single issue since I told him I wanted a divorce, I think he's making an effort. I don't expect things to be perfect right away but this is the longest we've gone in awhile and it feels wonderful. Makes me very, very optimistic that he's willing to work on it. Which is all I wanted...

I want another baby sometime and I hope it's a boy. I don't know that I can do the girly stuff. :scared1:

Hey, some of this baby stuff is so confusing I gave up.

My dad totally had to assemble our changing table... neither Tom or I could figure it out. We had an "engineers corner" in this house and when mom and dad came to help "paint" (:rolleyes1) I'd send dad over there to assemble things.

Much too complicated for us simple folk!

I hope Vinny feels better soon. :(
