The "Newest" Moms Hangout...

Sounds like a plan!!!

My MIL is taking Lucas Tuesday night until we go get her & him for Thanksgiving Thursday. I'm soooo eager to have the house to myself Wednesday.. no DH, no Lucas.
Imagine the things I can clean! :rotfl:

Our houses are allowed to be wrecks, right? I think it's a freepass for people with kids.
I thought about going into the kitchen for a snack but I'm afraid I might not make it back out alive. Our w/d are in there and DH has been piling laundry up in front of them on the kitchen floor. I've washed undergarments and thats it since Disney.... so imagine if you wish. :lmao:

I'm waiting on the hoards of people to start posting to Facebook about New Moon.
It's almost 2 here so I figure they'll start posting within the hour.

Oh my goodness!! ALONE TIME!! I am so putting that on my Christmas list!:lmao::lmao: When we only had the two kids.. My dh would take the bigger kids over to his moms house so I could CLEAN!! Oh it was marvelous! One day.. I had scrubbed everything. EVERYTHING. **** and span! Then i was walking over to the computer desk with my lunch... a bowl of chili... I tripped, and chili flew EVERYWHERE!!:scared1::rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2: I just sat down and cried. :lmao::lmao: I called him bawling and made him come home.

We have talked about him taking all four out, but honestly.. I dont think he can handle it. the twins still freak him out. :confused3 I dont get it, but then I take care of them pretty much 99.99999999% of the time, so i get that I am just used to them.

Laundry is tough.. Isnt it? I just did four huge loads, and I still have a ton to do. I hate laundry! I am thinking about just buying everyone one outfit, and washing it every day.. :lmao::lmao:

I HATE laundry.

I have decided that once I map out my schedule for next semester I am going to make a schedule for housework. It's ridiculous how little I get done.. I know that Lucas isn't always going to let me do laundry from 2-3pm on Wednesdays but I think it will help.

I swiffer'ed the dining room earlier and after I looked at the clothe I decided we shouldn't be eating in the dining room as it wasn't sanitary.. dust bunnies have taken over! Wood floors show so much dirt!!!

There are still boxes all over my house so I will never get that "clean" feeling.. not for awhile anyway.

I can't imagine having twins... DH won't take Lucas out by himself and HATES when I leave him alone with Lucas so I figure if we had twins he would have chained them to me. Or set some alarm that if I tried to leave the house without them steel bars would come shooting down, blocking my escape!

:lmao::lmao: I swear... when the babies were first born I couldnt take a shower for like six weeks. My husband was TERRIFIED of them!! they were very small.. At least for OUR babies. I know that 7 pounds each isnt really all that small.. But my husband is a BIG guy, and to him, that is just beyond tiny! He still just looks at them all crazy if they are crying.. Like.. what is wrong with them?? Umm.. Try FEEDING them.DUH!:lmao:Or if he tries that, and they are still crabby.. WHAT NOW!! :scared1::scared1:OMG!! Just lay them down! :lmao::lmao: He acts like they will just drop dead if im not there to take care of them! Even my seven year old can manage to feed them and put them to bed! So why is a 34 year old man not able to handle them?? Blows my mind!:lmao::lmao:

I have a schedule.. Not by the hour, or anything.. My kids do run on an hourly schedule.. But that is just an eating, sleeping, bathing routine we fell into. But every day I do the same stuff.. cooking and cleaning wise. On certain days I do the grocery shopping, or laundry, or run and pay bills.. As long as I stick to it for the most part, I dont get to overwhelmed. Every night when the kids are in bed I do the after dinner dishes, and while I am making lunch I do another load of dishes..I try to have dinner ready when my husband gets home from work, he ia always starving. I clean up after the kids when I am done with the dinner dishes.. No point in doing it during the day, they just mess it up right away.

I dont stress the cleaning to much. Im not a neat freak, my house is almost always messy. As long as the mess doesnt move on its own, im good. :lmao::lmao: I try to leave the days open for hanging with my kids.. School work with kaylee when the babies are napping, that kinda stuff.

I need that. I am so overwhelmed it's not even funny!
Of course, all the stuff with DH leaves me feeling like ick and then I don't want to get out of bed. Don't want to turn off lifetime. Don't wanna do anything.

I am realizing Lucas needs a schedule. So far we've just let him do his own thing, but he's not napping anymore. So I am going to try to figure out a good time for him to nap. I'm thinking in his crib @ 1:30 and nap until 3:30 when he can come back downstairs. But I don't know. Sometimes he sleeps in until 10!
I am so not cut out for this stuff where someone else is relying on me!!

I think I will try to do sorta what you said.
I really like Ellen's show and it's on at 2pm. I started thinking I might be able to do laundry in the mornings and fold while I watch her show. That is about as far as I got with the schedule making... and it hasn't happened!

It doesn't escape me that the first time things got bad was exactly a year ago next week.
The VA told me his *trigger* is most likely the death of his father(Aug. 30)/September 11/the holidays.
So thats all fine and dandy except it doesn't mean squat if he doesn't do something about it.

I just can't keep up with this thread anymore:rotfl:, but I saw this and wanted give you a .

After my daughter died, for years (years) I was all screwed up, but after time, it would only be in the month she was born and passed away (same day as your FIL). It took me a couple of years to figure it out, but every August, I would start to get REALLY pms-like and had a very short fuse. I was not the same person at all (understatement). When I realized that it was my "trigger", it was a lot easier to accept my feelings for what they were.

I guess I just want to say that I can understand how bad "triggers" can get to you. I'm not saying it's an excuse to treat anyone poorly and talking about it makes me want to apologize to all the people in my life who put up with me at the time.

Thanks. Hugs are nice. :)
i'm also sorry about your daughter. I'm glad that you figured that out, though. Recognizing why the funk occurs is a big step!

Staley and I kept things moving last night for sure!! :rotfl:

You girls have been really busy on here.

I got all my Christmas up yesterday.:yay: One of my MIL friends came over and helped me and my MIL kept Natalie for the day. I have all 3 trees up, garland and wreaths indoors and out, my hutch in the kitchen and dining room all done. I have all my wall hangings up and all the boxes are put away. This is such a wonderful feeling to be all done. Now I won't have thatn hanging over my head while we are at Disney. OMG, I leave in week.

Hope everyone has a wonderful weekend!

I can't wait to put up my Christmas! I'm trying to hold off until next Friday, our traditional decorating day. But I'm taking the baby to daycare through Wed to try to get some school work done, so I may try to do it when she isn't here! I'm off for 9 days!!!!!!!!!!!:cool1: I cleaned up my classroom before I left, and cleaned a place for my classroom tree. I teach Geometry, and I have handouts run off for them to make 3D ornaments for a test grade to decorate it. I LOVE Christmas, and I'm so looking forward to Katie's 1st one!

We had Christmas pics made Wed night, and I'm going to look at them and pick out our Christmas cards tomorrow. I may have to put on some Christmas music too!

I'm waiting until next Friday, too.

We don't have a tree and I'm planning on holding out to take advantage of Black Friday sales.
And to utilize the week off of school to clean so that I can put stuff out! I skipped Halloween because I still have so many boxes but I loooove Christmas. No skipping Christmas!

For those of you with twins, is there something that you absolutely cannot live without? My girlfriend is pregnant with twins and her shower is coming up and I'd like to get her something besides diapers. :-)

Alex is back on schedule! The vaccines really screwed up his schedule for 3 days; but he's now sleeping another 6-7 hours at night! Horray! DH is putting the lights up on the house, I might attempt the tree this afternoon when DH is watching the OSU/MI game - he can watch Alex at the same time while I work on the tree...if I'm lucky.

Well Alex is napping so I better clip his nails while I have the chance...ugh.

Well since mine are still not mobile yet, what we can't live without are their bouncy seats. You just can't hold 2 all the time, and both (of mine at least)need to spend some time upright after eating. What else.... the Snap n Go Double stroller frame to work with the infant seats while they are small.

If she's planning on BF'ing I hear that the EZ 2 Nurse Twins nursing cushion is the thing to have to make tandem nursing possible. I have one that I've only tried to use a handful of times -- since I don't have 2 successfully nursing babies, the pillow doesn't help me much.

We usually wait until after Thanksgiving to put our tree up to. But seeing that we leave for Disney that Friday and I had someone who could help and someone to watch Natalie for me, who could say no. I am so glad it is done and now I can get ready for our trip and for my parents coming over. Tick tick tick.... only 6 more days until I am with Mickey and Minnie:cheer2: I hope they have some cute Christmas stuff for Natalie.:santa:

I'm just glad you posted about it. I've been looking forward to mine on Fri, but it will be so much easier with Katie out of the house. So I'm going to have dh get everything out of the attic Tuesday night, and decorate while she is at daycare Wed.

I need to cut her nails, too. But napping is not on her mind right now. She is in my lap helping me type!

We went to WDW for Thanksgiving week 2007, and it was GORGEOUS! I'm sure you'll find tons of cute stuff for her!

That is one of the biggest let downs about leaving early for me... I didn't want to buy any Christmas stuff the first few years I was out on my own/with DH because I wanted to wait and kinda get it to match the house.
I was super excited to head to the Christmas store in DTD and we didn't make it.

I told DH I might use my frequent flier miles to fly to Orlando, spend a night at POP, and SHOP!! :rotfl:

Thanks Valerie! That'll definately helpme. They've been trying for three years to have children and thanks to invitro, they have two reasons to celebrate. :teeth:

In the process of googling your suggestions, I found this site - for those of you that pump and don't want to spend the money on a hands free bra, this looks like a cheaper option. I might invest in one of these since I'm heading back to work on Monday... :-(

Whoa those are expensive!

This is the one I have and LOVE.

Easy Expression

It zips up the front and is super easy to use and very durable.

Okay... the things I use the most... A baby carrier, Bjorn, and then my mei tai. It is so nice to ba able to go grocery shopping and keep one baby in the car seat in the cart, and then have one baby in a carrier.. plus it keeps the looky loos down a bit. Its not so noticeable that we have twins. and I can carry one baby in my arms, and the other in the carrier. SO NICE!!

Lots of women on my twin boards use podee bottles..

Bumbos.. I had one that i used for a while... but I have abnormally large babies that outgrew it quickly.

My Halo sleep sacks were UNBELIEVABLY useful! But that isnt a twin thing, just a baby thing.. This is us on our first day home from the hospital.. I used it until they were 6 months old or so..

a safety yard to keep them contained when they are mobile.. because they WILL go in different directions!!:lmao:

Also.. lots of cute matchy twin clothes! I never thought I would do that.. but its too cute!:lmao:

and you really cant go wrong with diapers.. LOTS OF DIAPERS! and WIPES!!

That is my must need stuff. Also... an few extra sets of hands. Maybe a promise of someone to bring some meals.. I would have LOVED that!
