The "Newest" Moms Hangout...

So, as long as nothing happens to mess things up & all goes according to plan..... Dylan should be coming home on Wednesday!! :cool1::cool1::thumbsup2

He'll be coming home on an apnea monitor & we have the monitor training scheduled for 3PM on Wednesday. They actually wanted to get the training scheduled for tomorrow & toss us out then. But really DH needs to be present for the training & scheduling wise, Wednesday works out much better. I mean a little notice would be nice. With DH being the sole source of income, he really needs to stay in his bosses' good graces & maintain his job & health insurance, etc.

What finally backed them off was me saying, you know I have another infant at home that I need to arrange care for, this takes time and planning, I can't just bring her back to the unit.

Anyways I'm done pumping, I gotta get some rest while Katie's still sleeping....

:cool1::cool1::cool1:OMG!! Im so EXCITED for you!!!!!!! That is great!

Ugh. I made the appt. for dh today. After I called and made it, I started to get really sad. I will NEVER be pregnant again. I will never have another baby. Im bummed! But I know it is for the best. All our friends are having babies... so I can hold theirs, right? Especially the triplets! That will be all kinds of baby lovin!! But still. If I could be sure I would get pregnant with a singleton, we would probably do it again. But we cant, so we wont. :sad1::sad1: He goes in on the 17th... so I will cry lots that day, Im sure.

I'm so happy that Dylan is coming home! A friend of ours had to use the apnea monitor with her son for almost a year. He was a big baby, but 6 wks early.

Staley, you sound like my dh. He still looks at my tubal scar with disgust! He can't stand the thought of no more babies. But at my age, we are through!

that is great news. I am so happy for you, it will be so nice to hold him in your arms at home!:goodvibes

Sorry if there are any grammatical errors in this message. I'm NWT (nursing while typing!) :rotfl2:

VAlerie-that is wonderful news! I'm sure you can't wait to have them both at home so you don't have to go back and forth and Katie can be with her brother again!

Staley- we are leaning towards the snip-snip too. I was gonna get the IUD but its kinda hard to fork out the $400 bucks right now. ANd the VAsec. is cheaper with insurance. Although it would be nice to have lighter or no periods!

Oh I almost forgot-On SLcikdeals there was a post that MArshalls may have some MAclaren Volos-it looks like they bought some from TArgets clearance. A lady got hers for $59, so if you live close to one, and in the market for one, you might want to check. Yo umight also check TJ MAxx since they are the same company as MArshalls.

It's so silly, but this is one place where I knew some of you would understand. I've had and nursed 4 kids before Alexis, but I've never owned a Medela breast pump until now. We didn't know work was going to run out of money for me when we bought it, but I don't regret the purchase. I just used it for the first time and was able pump an entire bottle for the baby in about 5minutes. What a relief to know how well it works! Now I know if I do need to go back to work, that I will be able to continue breastfeeding or that I can leave the house for more than an hour at a time too. That's freedom I didn't think I had with the other four. (I had an Avent Isis, it was good for a bottle or two if you wanted to run errands, but not for much else.) Now, whether or not the little princess is happy about a bottle is a whole other story, I guess...;)

:hug: That's tough but I'm sure in the end you'll be at peace with the decision. And if not, he can always get it reversed ;)

I know it's not the same thing but I kinda feel for you. I get a little jealous when I hear other women talking about when they're going to have baby #2. As a single mom, I have no way of knowing if or when I'll be having another baby. I definitely have my hands full with Jake right now but I know that I would love a sibling for him eventually. But who knows when that will ever happen? And it bums me out a little.

Valerie, I am SO happy you finally get to bring Dylan home! That is AWESOME news! :)

Awesome! I hope Alexis takes the bottle! One of my dad's friends wives gave me her Medela pump that she never used but since I quit pumping after week two it kinda went to waste. I would feel worse if I had paid for it but since she never used it either I don't feel too terrible. I definitely wouldn't have shelled out that much money for one of my own, that's for sure :rotfl: But they do work amazingly well, I'm glad you like yours!

I know that FEHB vary everywhere, we chose GEHA, but I find it shocking that no portion of an IUD is covered!??! I already checked our book/with my OB and it'll cost something like $92 for the actual IUD and the insertion fee. $400?? That is crazy!! :scared1:

...I just skimmed, I have to go to my next class in 10 minutes, so know that I will respond to the rest of you later... YAY VALERIE, though!! :dance3:

Well, she didn't exactly love it; but she drank a little from it and I was able to sit through the 6th Grade PTA meeting without nursing in public. I think she will get more used to it as time goes on. I got my breast pump for half price at one of those big children's consignment sales from someone who bought it, never used it, and was just hoping to get some money back from her big purchase. As I got it ready yesterday, I found all kinds of proof that it really was still very new and unused which made me happy. (Parts not unwrapped, a/c cords still wound up, etc...) Hopefully, I will use it enough to justify my $ too. But so far, so good.

:cheer2: Welcome Home Dylan :cheer2: That is great news!!!:yay:

DH and I are not sure if we will be having a 2nd baby. With our age, who knows. Plus it took 7 years for us to have Natalie.

Natalie will be 11 weeks on Thursday and boy has she changed. She giggles all the time now. Sooo cute. We are finally starting to sleep on our back in the night. She has been out of her car seat now for a week and a half :yay: She has been sleeping on a wedge and doing great. This morning I put her down on her changing pad and she went back to sleep on it. I put the pad in her crib. Hopefully by the time she is 3 months she will be in her crib by herself:banana: Hey, a girl can dream....

Wow, I can't believe Natalie is already 11 weeks. Emma was 9 weeks this week. They get so big so fast. DH comments all the time how she cahnges everyday. I go to the Dr. friday for her two month appointment. I can't wait to see what she weighs.

We are picking up our minivan today, I can't wait. We changed our minds from the Dodge to the Chrysler Town & Country it was hard to resist with a $5K cashback offer. :cool1:

Congrats on the new car!!!:thumbsup2

Is Dylan home?

Who was posting a few weeks ago about losing hair? I posted that I wasn't, and the next week my hair started coming out by the handfuls! It was awful. The floor in the bathroom, my clothes, the baby:rotfl:were all covered in my hair! I couldn't stand it anymore. I've been wanting a change anyway, so I got it chopped off this week. It feels so much better! Dh hasn't mentioned it-he is still pretending it didn't happen!:lmao:

Dylan is indeed home. :woohoo: It's about time is all that I can say. I'm tired. Today was a busy day. This AM Katie had her 2 month ped visit with shots. She is 7 lbs 5 1/2 oz. Dylan was 7 lbs 10 oz.

I'm kinda tired, so not as coherent as I usually am. Maybe tomorrow or over the weekend I cn get some pics of the 2 of them & get DH to put them online for me.

Im so happy for you! What good sized babies!!!

Way to go Katie and Dylan! Thats got to be an awesome feeling having both of them there with you. Did the ped say when Dylan would have to get his shots? Hopefully not right away, since he just got to come home. I hope that you will be able to get into a comfortable routine with the two of them there relatively quickly for your sanity's sake. ;) I'm sending  to you.

I feel so great today! Zander slept 9 1/2 hours straight last night! And two nights before that slept 6 hours straight. I am soooo hoping that this is the beginning of him sleeping through the night.

Today is his two month shots appt. so wish me luck. I will check in with ya'll later.
