The "Newest" Moms Hangout...

Hi everyone...wanted to do a quick check in.

Been MIA, due to my oldest 4x a week 2.5 hours each night football practice!! I leave for work at 6:30 am and if I take him to practice, I'm home after 8:30 pm.. LONG DAYS!

CJ is doing great, he goes for his 4 month checkup tomorrow (a little late...4.5 months). I'll report back how big my chunka is! I think he has a droopy eye lid like my 2 year old..you really only notice it when he's tired or is in bright lights, so I need to mention that tomorrow and I'm sure we'll be taking him to the pedi opthamologist that we bring the 2 year old to. This week (friday) I find out if he needs glasses! I know he has an astigmatism and we were holding off to this visit to do another full eye check and decide. He'd look so cute in glasses, but I remember how cruel we were as kids w/kids that wore glasses. I didn't get mine until HS, but should have had before than.

CJ is eating up a storm on stage 2's..we tried kiwi, apple, mango yesterday and he loved it! He hates squash, but I will retry it a little later.

School starts for my oldest tomorrow, so we cut down to 3 nights a week practice, but of course games have now started on sundays. We had the jamboree today and he did great! they all did great!

Busy planning our trip for October, tweaking our dining plans. we ended up getting a package w/deluxe dining, but we like signature restaurants and don't like counterservice, so it works for us.

ok...off to finish uploading football pictures to facebook :goodvibes:cheer2:

Actually you're pretty spot on. There are also parallels to District Six in Capetown, South Africa during Apartheid. And the government refugee camp they move the aliens to in the movie is located in Johannesburg, South Africa. So I guess the film makers were trying to make a statement about minorities and race relations which is probably why you have to watch it for that class of yours Patsy :)

december, so sorry to hear about the trouble with your DH. I'm glad it's not completely out of hand but I hope that you can talk with him and get him to realize that A.) alcohol never solves anything and B.) he especially shouldn't be behaving that way in front of your kids.

We're always here if you need to vent though and I hope everything works out for ya'll

Patsy, I can't believe your husbands GF left that message! I'd be ticked off too, especially since the way he worded it comes off a little...insensitive. What a tough day for your DH though, I hope he is okay.

hotveggy, that's the same thing Jake's pedi told me about tummy time so I try to make him do it a few minutes a day even though he doesn't like it. I figure he'll get used to it eventually ;)

You guys are helping sell it to me. All I knew was that it had aliens in it. :rotfl: I hate science fiction and alien like stuff... I never bothered to go look at a description of it once it became required for class. I was trying to ease the pain but now it doesn't sound too terrible.

I think we're going Wednesday so I'll report back. Didn't I just get totally lucky taking it the semester this movie comes out? :rotfl:

Yeah, DH had actually not realized the date either. We were both happily oblivious. Now I regret checking the voicemail. :headache:
His whole family is like that and I do NOT understand it. :confused3 They talk about death constantly- the first topic his grandmother ever says, anytime we see her (including the first time we took Lucas to see her) was about his dad's death or about his grave. It's infuriating!!!

Stacy, wow deluxe dining! I am having issues picking one more TS meal with our regular dining plan!
I've never been to a signature restaurant, though. That might change things a bit. ;)

hotveggy... you've encouraged me to not completely give it up... I shall try. He'll lay on his tummy on his playmat for awhile if someone stays down there with him... but not very long. Maybe we'll try a few more minutes everyday... or maybe I can tell the babysitter that we have tummy time everyday from 10-10:15 and under no circumstances is she to let him on his back.... :rolleyes1

DH and I are having a Mario Party "date night"... I'm so going to kick his butt! pirate:

Ya...deluxe is the only dining we'd get as we don't like counter service. Honestly, I think we've been spoiled by sit downs and we like to take the time out to relax. We don't have to rush around to see everything in the parks. We are lucky enough that we can go several times a year, if we'd like, so we just do what we want and relax :) of course we do have to rush to adr's.
we have booked (in no particular order)
Ohana B, D
CRT, D (sig)
Trex L
Yachtsman steakhouse D (sig)
Citricos D (SIG)
Chef Mickeys B
Donalds Breakfastasours B
Tonys L
Crystal palace B
Le Cellier D
Tutto Italia D
Coral Reef L
Mama Melrose L
I think that's it I changed Cali Grill to Citricos, we've never been there.

We booked the dessert party on my bday 10/27 when we'll be at MNSSHP.

Think thats about it..lucky for us, though. Brady is 2.5 so buffets he's free and on our last trip, we would use an appetizer of mine of hubbys for him some of the time. We don't need 2 apps. Sometimes Ty would want one of the apps and Brady would have his meal. No one ever said anything to us. they even made chicken fingers for us...just not putting the sauce on the buff fingers for him.

I was raised catholic but stopped going in college. I have been trying to get back into it since I was pregnant since we did have allison baptised.

Ask away!

Thank you!

We went to my mother's house after church, and visited most of the day. We also set up the baby's christening for next Sunday. An older lady in the church came up to us while we were talking to the preacher and commented on Katie's size and how she was holding herself up, and asked if she was "about 6 mos now?":rotfl: You should have seen her face when I said nope, 3 1/2!

I would LOVE a deluxe dining trip to WDW! One day......

Any of you going to WDW soon concerned about Swine Flu???
I have been told the are not giving the vaccine to infants under 6 months!!!! We are now considering cancelling. I will talk to the Dr. next week when Emma goes.

------

I am now officially a minivan Mom...I am so excited we bought a 2010 Dodge Grand Caravan SXT today. I am ready to carpool!!!!:rotfl:

Patsy, it does sound like he loves you and wants to get better. Just be careful.

Maggie, I'm glad you are doing ok! I had to unsubscribe from the other thread to make myself quit posting over there!:rotfl:

Me too!! Otherwise I would be checking in on there all the time, and my babies are almost 6 months old!

We went over to our friends house this weekend.. The ones that just found out the are expecting triplets instead of twins. :scared1: Still freaks me out! and really makes me 100% sure that we are DONE having kiddos. I just know that is we tried for one more, we would end up with triplets or something. :lmao: Anyways.. she is really big already. She is 12 weeks. Could easily be 6 months. Such a cute little baby belly going on! I know she wont be little for to much longer. I am going to schedule hubby for the big V here soon. He is ready and willing for that! :lmao::lmao:

DisneyRon- Ugh, I already forget whether or not you spell your name with an e!

I'm not worried about it because I'm not getting Lucas the vaccine. I think it's way to early to give him something so hastily put together. I could be crazy but no one in my home will be getting it. DH and I already had the discussion.... I forget when.

...triplets are an excellent idea for birth control!!! :rotfl:

No way would my baby get the H1N1 vax. My kids won't. We've already had it (the kids and I, minus the baby.)

I remember you posting about that.

I take it you're all fully recovered now??

There are a ton of cases here but I figure if we're smart about things and monitor ourselves (like, not disreguarding something as a cold or whatever), we'll be alright.

We arent getting it. Maybe my dh will... if his work offers it. But not the rest of us. My kiddos dont go t daycare, Alex does go to school.. If i was PG I would worry about it more, but with dh getting the big snip that isnt going to happen!

I love how quickly these triplets have changed the wishy-washy feelings on another baby!:rotfl:

I miss being pregnant and DH and I were jokingly discussing the other day whether or not we should write up instructions now on how I am to get an IUD at the first moment possible after delivery of potential baby #2... to just take care of matters before we can change our minds.

Refusing to deliver at the non-Catholic hospital in town really narrows down the birth control options! :rotfl:

I loathe insomnia. I feel as awake as I do when I sleep soundly all night. I am forever grateful that Lucas developed his daddy's sleeping habits.. passing out wherever/whenever is convenient!

Staley, did you make up your mind yet? Both weeks offsite, half and half?

Patsy and Staci, I wish I could go the week ya'll are there but we have to go over the weekends because of dd's school and the weekend of the 24th we will be in AL for DNephew's wedding and then the weekend after is Halloween, so it will probably be packed that weekend :confused3. I did price a trip in early Oct. but its still more than we want to fork out at this point. We may just take a weekend and go to universal and use our hotel reward points.

Ann-congrats on the minivan!! we got a 2006 Honda Odyssey about a month ago and I love it! :lovestruc Its so nice having all that extra room! I never wanted a minivan, never thought of myself as a minivan person but it makes the most sense to get a minivan with everything and everyone we have to tote around when we travel!

Does anyone know if the regular flu vaccine helps with the H1N1? WE usually get the regular flu vaccine but I am not sure I want the H1N1 since they kinda threw it together.

A word of caution on the Chicken Pox vaccines that they give kids now-they can still get chicken pox even when they get the full vaccine. Its just a lighter case. DD's friend got them and she had had the full set of vaccinations for them. I had heard of a couple of other cases where this happened too. Luckily DD or none of her other friends caught them. Well I guess thats good, maybe its best to let her catch them now before she gets older and its harder on her.

I am so tired today. Zander woke up three times last night! I will be glad when he finally starts sleeping through the night on a regular basis!

I hope everyone has a good Monday!

I really need to look into the Chicken Pox vaccine. I've heard all sorts of things about it.
I don't think that one is usually required by school districts, is it?

Lucas woke me up SCREAMING his head off. He usually wakes me up to squeals or "coos" (I'm the lightest sleeper in this house, lucky me) and so I run in there and he'd rolled on his belly and he was freaking out! It was a bit funny. :rotfl:

No way would I get the H1N1 vaccine for either Jake or myself. It's way too young a vaccine and who knows what side effects could pop up! I plan on getting the regular flu shot but that's it. I'm already a little scared of some of the vaccines out there, I would never feel comfortable getting one that had been around for such a short period of time. JMO though :)

Patsy, that's too funny about Lucas! Must have caught him off guard, poor thing :)

just noticed your ticker

Happy 1 month Birthday Jake!!!!

Only 11 more months and he can have some cake at a party. ;)

Hi girls. We just made some of our dining ressies for our upcoming Disney trip. Only 88 more days:yay: We are leaving Natalie at home with my parents after Thanksgiving. I am kinda nervous about it, but I know DH and I will love having the time alone together. We are staying at BLT this time and I can't wait!!!

My grandmother in coming in this weekend for a visit. She will be 86 on Friday. I can't wait for her to meet Natalie.\

I am starting to get really nervous about the swine flu. I don't want to leave Natalie in the nursery at Church.

Im saying!! Im calling in a few minutes to make the appt. SNIP SNIP! :lmao:Is it wrong for me to be kind of happy that after all these years of me having babies..being pregnant.. having my gall bladder out.. and various other ailments.. All the while my husband is HEALTHY as a dang horse.. nothing ever wrong with him.. anyways, Im kinda happy he is going to have a little discomfort for once. :rolleyes1:lmao:

I dont sleep well EVER. I am wide awake almost every night... LATE. Last night I had just gone to bed, and was laying there awake.... and heard gunshots! powpowpowpow... silence... and from a very obviously different gun.. powpowpowpowpow. :scared1: It was close, but not super close. :confused3 No clue what was going on. I called my hubby, and he was like, should I come home?? Nope. We are fine.

We have no idea what is going on. My mom wants to wait until October before making a decision. Fine by me. I have done what I can do in the planning... I have a bit of a headache form searching all over the internet and her changing her mind all the time. I am thinking the first week offsite, and the second onsite. That would be the cheapest way to do it. We have been looking at two rooms at Pop Century for the second week. Alex is just DYING to stay there, and I know Kaylee would LOVE it.

Katie sleeps great, right next to me, so I don't have any complaints there! Dh is the one exhausted, because he sleeps on the couch!:rotfl: He is scared to sleep with us, afraid he'll roll on her, even though we both slept with the older kids. She truly is the princess princess:

I won't be getting the new swine flu vaccine, or my kids, until after it has been around a year or so. There have been several deaths of school kids in MS in the 3 wks since school has started though! A 6 yr old of meningitis, a 13 yr old with swine flu (confirmed today) and a 15 yr of of unknown causes. He had flu like symptoms, but tested negative for the flu. He died in the waiting room of a clinic!

So, as long as nothing happens to mess things up & all goes according to plan..... Dylan should be coming home on Wednesday!! :cool1::cool1::thumbsup2

He'll be coming home on an apnea monitor & we have the monitor training scheduled for 3PM on Wednesday. They actually wanted to get the training scheduled for tomorrow & toss us out then. But really DH needs to be present for the training & scheduling wise, Wednesday works out much better. I mean a little notice would be nice. With DH being the sole source of income, he really needs to stay in his bosses' good graces & maintain his job & health insurance, etc.

What finally backed them off was me saying, you know I have another infant at home that I need to arrange care for, this takes time and planning, I can't just bring her back to the unit.

Anyways I'm done pumping, I gotta get some rest while Katie's still sleeping....
