Does anyone know if the gift shop (Mercantile?) has any "special" plush toys? (For example AKL's shop carried the Safari Mickey and others like they have at AK.) Are there any plush that are specifically themed to WL? I'd like to have a gift basket made for DD and thought it might be nice to include a sort of WL-specific toy rather than a "regular" one.
They have The Humphry Canoe..It has Mickey, Donald and some other plush in the Canoe...I think Fred may have a picture because we bought it for Dear Roy last year.

Ok - this will be our 4th visit in as many years to the WL -

last year I upgraded to the Concierge Level at check-in - but this is the first time I've actually booked a Concierge room.

I remember reading that the staff contacts you before your visit - but I also remember reading that they sometimes don't - and there is an address that I can use to contact them.

1. what is the address?
2. what can I have them book for us? I don't usually do too many (or any) PS - is there something I am not thinking of besides PS that I can ask them to do? Will they book one of the tours for us - like the Family Magic Tour?

and... I understand that I get to check in on the 7th floor instead of in the lobby - is that right? how do I get up there without the room key?

LOL - for someone who feels like a WL Vet (even if I don't have that tag) I sure have found a whole area that I know very little about.

You can check in on the 7th floor or the lobby. Whatever you wish. Just tell the desk that you are staying concierge and they will have someone come down to the lobby to meet you and take you upstairs.

As for contacting itinerary planning prior to your stay, send email to: WDW.WLodge.Itinerary.Planning@disney.com

My experience with concierge has been that they will book whatever you want them to not just priority seating.

Just remember that the email address I gave you is for itinerary planning which is NOT at Wilderness Lodge and is not the staff that usually work in concierge there. They are in a seperate building and all they do is trip pre-planning for concierge and VIP guests.

In my opinion, the key to staying concierge, is allowing yourself to be pampered. Let them do everything for you even if you could do it yourself. It's not just about the food.

Also, let the planners know if there are any special occasions such as a birthda or anniversary going on in your group while you are down there. They can work on special things for those.

Hope this helps. :) ::yes::

The Staff on the 7th floor was incredible when we were there last year - and the mood on that floor is so quiet - that even without the food I would love it

the food - especially the late night cordials - is just a wonderful extra

I'm glad I didn't wait until check-in to upgrade

I think I'm glad

the extra money is a bit scarey! LOL

and I think we are spoiling our son

"mommy we NEED to be on the 7th floor" I mean - what 5 year old knows this stuff?

My "4" year old daughter knows it too! She knows her way around the halls better than most I tell ya! :teeth:

Aw Fred..you need a new picture in your signature with Hailey!

Do you have the picture of the WL Canoe??

I need help. I am staying at the WL 1/30-2/5 and I have not made one PS. I am overwhelmed with all the choices. I will be traveling with my DH 32, DD 3 1/2 and my DS 5. Lat trip we didn't plan anything ahead of time and I felt like we missed out on things. Any ideas or must sees?
Tara

I would reccomend Chef Mickey's at CR. My son was 4 when we went and he loved it. And it is an easy hop to the CR by the boats.

We are going to try to get a new one as a family when we are down in January.

Unfortunately, I don't have a picture of the canoe.

Chef Mickeys & the Concourse Steakhouse at CR are great

Trails End at FW, no PS's thought. It's a GREAT buffet and cheap!

Kona Cafe & Ohanna's at the Poly

These are all easy to get to from WL.

Thanks anyway!

I still appreciate the information DisneyDmbNut!

Thanks for the info. Kimberle. I think we might check out the Kona. Is the Concorse Steakhouse fancy?

Nope, they are all casual.

Enjoy!

What is nice abt the Concourse, the monorail goes right above every 3 or 4 minutes. Keeps the little ones amused & QUITE during dinner. :p

Taratink, do your kids like Pooh & Co.? If so, you have to try Crystal Palace at the Magic Kingdom. Pooh, Tigger, Piglet & Eeyore all come around for photos. Plus they dance a konga line that the kids (& adults, LOL) can join in. Plus it's an absolutely stunning setting - like a big Victorian greenhouse. Lots of selections at the buffet. The three times we had dinner there, they served an excellent salmon! Plus they have the usual pizza, mac & cheese, chicken nuggets for the kids - AND a make your own sundae bar.

I agree that Chef Mickey's is a "Must Do". (Can you tell I LOVE character meals, LOL) We always have breakfast there our last morning before heading home. Your kids will love the napkin song.

A year ago at this very moment, my extended family was having dinner at 1900 Park Fare (another good choice). I remember because it was the first evening of our trip. Wish we were there right now... :sad1:

Have fun planning!!!:hyper:

Thanks guys! I'm going to book the Crystal Palace and the Concourse. Thanks again for your imput.

Tara,

Hubby & I will also be at the WL 1/30 - 2/5. We've never stayed there before and are so excited!! :Pinkbounc

Linda

Yeah for Us! We are going to have great weather and a great time. I will be the lady chasing two little blonde kids in the lobby.
Tara:wave2:

Well, I am about to faint just waiting for time to pass and for those last minute things to get done!!! DH & I will finally see the WL that I have learned so much about from you cool and nice folks. :Pinkbounc :bounce: :Pinkbounc :bounce: :Pinkbounc

One last question...on our last day we are hoping for a late check out and then lunch and WL playtime exploring and swimming and changing at the health club until our Sunday 7p return flight. Since some of you were just chatting about Kona, my LAST (I promise this time!) question is...does that beat a relaxing afternoon staying at the Lodge? We wanted to maybe sit out at the Territory Lounge for lunch if open--has anyone done that? But I had originally thought of Kona since it looked fun last time we explored Poly and the reviews are great.

Thanks again all...WL awaits...

First, have a GREAT trip! Don't forget to pat the bear's nose to make the magic begin!!

As for Kona, it's a great place and we love the food there but my wife and I have always cherished our last half day by staying at the hotel and sucking it all in for the last time before we go. It's a good day to try to relax. Remember, from that point on you will be doing the airport and transport thing then doing it all again once you land back at home. It will be a busy day.

Another good suggestion that we sometimes do is to rent a pontoon boat and go around the lakes for an hour. It's a very relaxing way to soak in the sites. It also gives you a very different perspective of the world.

My advice?? Take the day and make it yours at Wilderness Lodge.

Fred
