we're eating at the whispering canyon before the MVMCP on the 12th. my son and baby daughter don't like alot of loud noises (esp baby daughter) so is eating there going to be a problem????

I'm very excited, my DH and I were talking at lunch and I went ahead a ordered tickets to MVMCP for 12/16. We have never done this before. We were looking at some pictures of the parade and Marcel said let's do it.

I have a question, is it best to take the boat over to the Magic Kingdom that night. Does the boat run during that time so we can get back. If not, what's the best way to go and come "home"? Thanks. :D

If you go during "peak" hours it "may" be a problem but it depends on how packed the place is. Go to desk at WCC and mention the noise issue. They "may" be able to sit your family in the back living room area by the fireplace. It's much quieter back there.

Hope this helps.

Congrats! Renee and I have talked forever about making a trip down to Disney during the Christmas and New Year time one day. I'm sure we will do it it's just a matter of when. :)

Have fun! See you both in January.

My advice?? Take the day and make it yours at Wilderness Lodge.
My thoughts exactly. Thank you again for your input...YOU and a few other WL Vets have been instrumental in our booking the Honeymoon Suite (your great pics!) so I trust what you think.
I know that at WDW it always takes more energy to accomplish what seems simple and so we'll lunch at WL and nap by the pool! OR in the hottub if chilly!

Will look for Mark Newman per your rec. as well.
YIPPEE!!!!!!!!!!!!!

...it CAN get quite loud, so you may want to rethink going there. I suggest you visit WL lobby after you have eaten dinner somewhere else, and just 'hang out' in the lobby near WCC and judge for yourself. If it doesn't affect you too much, make ressies for a later date! Or, make ressies for WCC for non-peak hours (ie: 4:30 PM). Good luck!

ANN , I agree with Fred, the last day is so beautiful at WL.

I would have lunch at WCC .....you have always fun there !!!! ... a good way NOT to think you are leaving the resort !

Also the " Hidden Mickeys" hunt could be nice : they give you that "list" at guest services.

If you have not done that yet ..... you could also take a "tour" of the lobby , with ranger Stan ( if you are lucky enough to find him on duty ).

:Pinkbounc :bounce:

AND don't forget the very last pic with Humphrey!!!!!::yes::

Thanks Laura! We have really enjoyed the screensaver and the music!! We will play at WL that day as we wind up our 1st adventure there!!!! :thewave:

....sending PD:wizard: your way yo have a WONDERFUL vaca! And: HAPPY 20th ANNIVERSARY!!

LATigger - Have a wonderful trip! I can't wait to be counting down those last few days before heading to the world!

Can anyone tell me about the possibility of a late checkout? Does WL do that? We were hoping to go to MK for a while our last morning and then back to WL for lunch and relaxing by the pool. My DH has a flight at 6pm and my DS and I are driving south to meet my parents for a few days. If WL does not let you checkout late but does hold your luggage, is there somewhere to change, etc.? Hospitality rooms?

I believe they do offer it but I would recommend asking for it when you check in because there are only a limited number of rooms they can do this with on any single day or shift in housekeeping.

They "will" hold your luggage though at the front. As for changing, can't help you there unless you just do it in the bathroom or behind a bush somewhere. :teeth: :)

When we were at CR in Sept, they would not give us a late check out OK until the day before we were to leave. Normal check out is 11 am. Late check out would only be to 12 or 1 at the latest. The CM said that if you're in a room later than 1, they (WDW) will charge you.

Thanks all for the good wishes!!! All very sweet!!!

I just had a reply after a week's waiting from WL IPO ( think that is who you call the planner people) who said this:
'for your request for a Magic Kingdom view we do not have any Honeymoon Suite's that look at the Magic Kingdom ".

Well, I know there are 2 views that look that way and 2 that don't. It is the 11th hour and thus God's way of saying "Let it go and be happy with any view" since I am burned out on planning...a bunch of things to iron and then I am OVER this phase!!!

Yeah! Will meet Humphrey and say hi from all!!!

They would be on the north side of the hotel. Ask for that. :)

Don't worry...Mark and his staff will take good care of you.

Ha ha! Great suggestion Majestic...at least there are plently of trees and bushes since it is the WL!

Well, I will give it a try and ask at check-in. Of course I will also be asking for an early check-in if the room is ready since we arrive at about 11AM! That plus my other room requests (bunk beds, MK view)! Thank goodness it sounds like they are used to all these requests. This is my first ever on-site stay!! And I'm asking for everything!

Now I am off to change my PS at Chef Mickey's. Since I now know the MK hours for January I don't want to miss Wishes! I'm a little nervous about DS wanting to skip the fireworks though....he is not a fan of the loud noises. Any recommendations on where to watch from??

While you are at it, check out Ohana for dinner one night. A great meal there!

Also, check out Boma at Animal Kingdom Lodge for the breakfast buffet. It's rated as one of the best in Orlando!

Both are "staples" for our visits to the world.

While the party starts at 7:00pm with your ticket you may enter the park at 4:00pm and recieve your wrist band I would make a PS at the Magic Kingdom go early enjoy a nice meal then you won't have to fight the large crowds coming from not only the Lodge but Ft. Wilderness Campground going home after the party all the normal transportation will all be running. If the boat back to the Lodge is terriable, I plan on jumping on the ferry to TTC and then catching the bus around to the Lodge. I'm going to check with a friend that wears the Purple Pants (bus driver) to make sure the intra-bus service between TTC and the Lodge will be running after the party.

LATigger/Ann

Have a MAGICAL TRIP. Ann as soon as you get there go to EPCOT Food & Wine you'll only have a few days left before it ends but the food is great.

Oh and the weather is wonderful, warm during the day cool at night.

Have fun
