Good morning all! Our trip is finally within sight. Can any of you Wl experts tell me if Roaring Forks is fully functional? What items are the menu? I'm sure we will have a great stay no matter what.

Oh I am SO jealous!!! Not sure if the dining/seating area is done..but I do believe the food area is done. Someone said that chili dogs and nacho's are no longer on the menu :( I do expect a full report on that..and the entire menu when you return, first thing! :rotfl: :wizard: for a wonderful vacation!

Do a search on the restaurant board. A couple of weeks ago someone post pictures of the newly remodled RF and a picture of the menu.

If my memory serves me correctly someone suggested doing later at night. Early morning was the busiest. I took note of it because, I too will be doing laundry :guilty:

Have a magical day,
Anna

Anyone have any info about the laundry room(s) here. Tips on best times?

I did laundry back in 2003 at WL. I think there was 6 dryer and 6 washers. I woke up early one morning around 6 and went down and there were some machines already in use. Plan to go very early or very late. I brought my own soap and fabric softner but I think they had a machine where you could buy some. Hope this helps

Just changed Ressie from Standard to Woods view Any suggestions on where I should request? Last time we went we had a woodsview room that opened up to the lobby above checkin and on our balcony we looked at the roof of the bus stop walkway. I'm hoping for a better view this time. Help! :confused3

We just got back Tuesday night. They had the seating area open at RF. I know this because the cashier told me it was ready. I did not eat there at night, so I did not pay attention to the menu. We did get the breakfast croisants; they had bacon , egg, and cheese. They were large and tasty for under $6.

What was the seating area like? Any bigger??

We had a great Woods view both times overlooking the Otter Pond - we could see Wishes from our balcony each night. We were in Room 6020.

This was my first time at WL, so I can't make a comparison. What I saw looked adequate; the cashier seemed to be proud that they now had it open.

LisaRN- what days will you be there in June? We will be there there the 6th thru the 14th. Most importanly though, prayers to you and your brother and his family during this time. Keep us posted.

My planning obsession today is thoughts about using valet parking (can you tell I'm running out of things to think about?...I'm dying for our 180 days to get here so that park hours/dining plans/etc can begin! :rotfl: ).

Our upcoming trip in December will be our first trip having a rental car, and I'm curious how valet parking at WL works:

- Is the cost still $7/day?

- I looked up tipping and it seems the general concensus is $2 at both pickup and drop off

- Can I call from our room so that the car will be waiting for us when we get downstairs? Any WL vets out there with reviews on the speed and efficiency of WL's car retrieval?

- Any disadvantages to parking valet?

Thanks in advance!

Im not sure of the cost of valet. For some reason Im thinking it is now $9 a day but I could be wrong. We own DVC so valet is free.

$2 per each way is general I think, at least that is what we always try to pay.

And yes, you can call from your room and unless they are very busy, your car will be waiting for you. I have found that sometimes, you can just walk up to the valet desk outside, and they will have you ready to go within a couple of mins. I like to do this so I can personally hand the valet person their tip as they get out of the vehicle.

I have to say, of all the places we have valet parked at WDW, WL is the most efficient and friendly. I told one of the fellows working their one night this same comment and he told me that WL had won the best valets on property award for like six straight yrs. And it shows!

I will say that the parking lot isnt that far from the main Lodge area so if you get tired of forking over the bucks for it, that walk isnt that bad. I probably wouldnt use valet as frequently if it werent for us getting it free.

At any rate , enjoy! We too will be there in Dec staying at the villas.

I agree..we always park ourselves..it's not a bad walk..and my girls like going out there to our vehicle to take a look at the "animal footprints" in the cement out front and follow them :)

Thanks for the GREAT info! :thanks:

It's also good to know that self-parking is close too if we decide not to fork over the extra money for valet each day :)

The parking lot is not too far. We valet parked when we first got there in December and then just self parked the rest of the trip since it wasn't too far. Valet is nice, but for the price, it was just as easy to park ourselves.

By the way, I forgot to tell you guys, when we were there we were talking about all the furniture and fixtures at the lodge. The CM gave me a list of the places Disney got that furniture from. It is very interesting. I can send a copy to anyone who would like one!!

Could you possible pm the list to me. I would love to have it.

Thank you sooooo much!
