Is there or isn't there now a direct bus from the Lodge to MK. I thought they started one in November but the last post I read was confusing. We are going in two weeks and would like to know the right story. it may make a difference whether I rent scooters in the parks or from a private company. Sometimes the boat dock is higher than others due to water levels. thanks guys....... I am soooooooo excited to finally get there.

According to our friendly "purple pants wearing" guy, (Chip & Dale Express), a direct bus from WL to MK started in mid November. There was a long post about it on the transportation brd. You might want to send him a PM to confirm.

Aisleleven, what would you say are the best rooms and the best type of views at the WL?

Well...for me, the "view" isn't my top priority. For me, my priorities are a Non-smoking, non-handicapped, King room...they are few and far between because most of the King rooms are also handicapped rooms. I have had to give up some upgrades (complementary, I always ask if there are any available when I check in) because I do not like staying in the handicapped rooms and feel they should be used by people who need them more than I do.

On my last stay, in November, I had my favorite room to date, because it was a non-smoking, non-handicapped, king room with a courtyard view...just lovely, even though I wasn't in the room a lot to really enjoy it.

Overall, I have to say I don't think that WL has any "bad" rooms, they are all pretty convenient to something...be it the elevators, boats, Roaring Forks, etc.

A note about upgrades...I always ask if they are available when I check in... and usually they tell me that my room has already been upgraded. I think it helps that I am a frequent guest...and as I said, I have given up some upgrades because I don't like staying in handicapped rooms and I don't let it bother me that I gave up the upgrade...I am still in my favorite resort!

yay for going from the 80s to 70s (and since you're from Jersey I'm assuming days left - and not the outside temperature)

Are you driving or flying for your next trip?

we're driving from Jersey - leaving the day after Christmas - driving to Tampa for a bit and then to WDW on 1/2/05!

I think as of today I went from the 30s to 20s!

I have looked and looked for the post about the bus not starting and the one for the bus starting as well..........Has anyone got any info as to what the real deal is as of now?? I need that bus........I have difficulty with stairs and cannot do a two bus transfer and sometimes when the water is low, the boat has a huge step up to get out of it........I wanted to PM the writer but can't find any of his posts to het his pm addr.......Thanks guys. Two weeks from today we check in..........YEAH..........

Also........for those who have been in the recent past...Do they greet you with Welcome home at the gate like they used to???

A new WL thread #5!. Let me remember 999ghosts who was so helpful to so many of us a couple of years ago. If you read this 999, you're still remembered as a great and helpful CM.

Wow, I just saw that we are on Part 5 now. I can still remember day one of part 1. I also remember 999ghsts and their knowledge. And I will say, that they are still here, just under a different username, which I will not reveal due to what happened in the past. But rest assured, they are still here.

Oh, yes, they still do so !!!
DH and I were greeted in very sweet ways , when we visited this August,
NOT ONLY when we first arrived / check in .
We found there is almost always someone ( like ranger Stan or other cast members) greeting you when you come back "home" after a day at the parks ! :jumping4: :jumping4:

AND .... don't forget to greet Humphrey too !!!!

I think I read a post on the transportation board by Tyler that said the bus route directly to MK has been stopped. I looked for the thread, but can't find it. It also talked about the new busses that WDW is getting on line.

I miss 999ghost too (in response to someones post at the beginning of the threads about him/her) I honestly believe he/she sent pixie dust to us in 2002!...page 11

I still PM her from time to time!! She is posting under a different name...but I can't say! FloridaCat had a suspicion about a poster and asked me to PM her last year! ...and it turned out to be her! She WAS a room assigner for WL!page 12

FloridaCat was one smart CAT. While I never knew 999ghost, I know she is widely spoken of as extraordinary, and is named again and again with honor on all of the Wilderness Lodge FAQ Threads I have even gone back to try and read some of her post but they have all been removed. Is it permissible to tell what happened or why her post were removed?page 12

999 Ghost was a room assigner at WL and helped some disers get nice upgrades...including myself. We never knew who she was, but apparently someone checked into WL making comments about 999ghost to the CMs...asking questions and voicing negative opinions! I think she was found out by management and was asked to remove all remnants of 999ghosts! Some of her posts from Thread #1 were amazing!!! Very detailed info about certain things! She now posts under 2 different user names
but she stays clear of our WL threads nowadays!page 13

You guys are going to make me cry... So the story is almost right . What happened was this. Another CM at WL started posting on the Dis, that CM then came back to WL and started asking questions and voicing opinions about 999gshts. Management was trying to find out who 999ghsts was and the situation got a little crazy. Per 999ghsts request to the DisBoard Moderators the sign on was deleted and all posts were removed. However she does still lurk and post, and yes Aspiring Cindy and Florida Cat where quick to pick up on the new sign on... So for all of you that have had questions answered on another thread by Libertybelle...you have been talking to 999ghsts all along Aspiring Cindy has been great about everything, coming to me with questions and then posting the answers herself. I was just sent an email from another Dis member, that knows me, about all the nice things that were being said here about 999ghsts and I thought it was time to let the cat out of the bag and start hanging out again. I am however no longer at WL, I am now at Old Key West so I can try and answer questions that I remember and if you have any vacation club questions or are coming to OKW I would be more than happy to help out there Thanks again guys, you really know how to make someone feel special....page 14

Did you take the direct bus from WL to MK? I was wondering how that worked. Was it very crowded? Did you find it better than taking the boat?

I'm trying to find out if Artist's Point has a corkage fee if I bring my own Champagne (my friends and I are doing the Disney Marathon and I thought it would be nice to bring a bottle from my own collection to toast with)...

I called WDW-Dine and the woman suggested I call the restaurant directly but she did not have a number...

Does anyone here have the number for Artist's Point or the Lounge at Wilderness Lodge?
