GatorEye,

I know you'll love CL. It's so relaxing to sit up by the balcony while you eat breakfast and gaze down at the beautiful Christmas tree in December or watch the activity in the evening while sipping wine.

Oh..that is SO true!!! My exact same sentiments! :goodvibes  I cannot ever imagine going in December again..and not staying anywhere but here!

OK, I promise I will post more pictures.

I have to go and clean out the garage with Marcel. But I will post more today!!

Beckie, Have you gotten my emails?

Jeanne

I sure did but...if your asking....that means you didn't recieve my answer back. :scratchin I have your mail saved so let me PM you as you didn't receive my E-mail.

We bought a DVC membership at the VWL two years ago, and this december is our FIRST trip to our 'home' resort!

I've been selling VWL Christmas vacations on ebay using my dvc points (check out my ebay auction-got one up right now), and we've finally saved up enough to actually STAY there :rotfl: .

We rent out about half of our points every year, that's how we get our friends and family to vacation with us :thumbsup2 .

Can't wait to see the fireplace. Can't wait to SMELL the fireplace.

Thanks for the pics dizneykid!

I'm definitely sold on the inner courtyard (you won't have me fighting to get a view of the castle). I'd love the same view as I had last year although I realize it isn't possible on the CL.

Now for the next question, which would be better, the North or South wing? I'm thinking I'd like to be close to the lobby, but not next to the elevator, so I'm guessing that would be the North wing.

I wonder if they keep track of how many times you call in to change your preferences? :teeth:

Hello WL lovers

In regards to my CL experience last year and this year. Your first contact with the WL CL staff is the "word" document they ask you to fill out and return..this contains your info, requests etc, I don't know who originates that. Every time I've emailed them after that, I have emailed directly with a WL CL CM (got all those abbreviations straight :rotfl: ) They have always gotten back to me within a day, and answered all of my questions. I have to say with this current trip..I probably have 10 emails back and forth regarding my requests..room rehab info..room view info..ADR requests and changes..etc. One time she forgot to answer one of my questions..I emailed her back and she apologized she overlooked it..and answered it. I've emailed with Jeffrey, Brandon, Lynette and Trish..though have only met Jeffrey and Brandon, so the people you do email with, are some who are directly there. They do also give you a phone # if you want to contact them that way..but I like to organize my emails in a special folder..so I prefer email.

My reply from the IPO was from Lynne. Do you think that is the same as Lynnette? She wasn't helpful at all if it was. I guess I need to email back and see if I get someone different.

Hello all,

So I've been following the recent posts regarding views, room requests, etc. I have not stayed a WL before, so it's all new to me. We have booked a courtyard view room for 9/25-10/2, and I wanted to reserve a quieter room (we'll have 2 little ones with us) with a nice view. Anyway, I called the reservation folks today (sorry, don't know the abbrev. for this) and got what I think was 2 weird responses....

First call, I spoke with "Frazier" (ever feel like they are made up names?!?). When asking Frazier (very very politely, and prefacing my request with "I realize that this is just that, a room REQUEST and that there is no guarantee I'll get it) for an inner courtyard room on a higher up floor, he replied..."you booked a courtyard view, so that's what you'll get. A view of the courtyard". It was pretty snippy I should add. I was a bit thrown off by this response so I just said "uh, ok, thanks for your help". Then Frazier's tone took a 180 turn and he said (all peppy) "thanks for calling Disney! Have a nice day! :sunny: "

So I, of course, called right back (I really hope they don't note all of these calls). Got a woman, and gave her the very same preface I gave Frazier(genuinely of course) and her response was...."I don't know that there is an inner courtyard. But I'll try to put this in your reservation." ???

Anyway, it was just weird. Who knows what we'll end up with. I don't feel like I'm being too picky - not asking for a certain room number, refurb (or not), certain wing, etc. (Not that there's anything wrong with that :thumbsup2 ) I'm just asking to be higher up, away from the noise of the pool, and a courtyard view of the lagoon/geyser, etc. Again, never been to WL so I don't know the exact setup but am going off of a map I saw on here (that does indeed show an "inner courtyard". Anyway (sorry, rambling)....
suggestions?? I should probably just leave well enough alone and just see what we get, right?

First of all don't worry...I can tell you're trying to thinking about everything that can, could or may go wrong. I know because I've been there, done that...no need really you'll be fine.

The second cast member noted your reservation you should be good to go. While nether person you spoke with when you called CRO acted like they were aware of the request you made, the ROOM ASSIGNER at Wilderness Lodge will know exactly what you want.

You have to remember quite a few of the Cast Members that take your calls are not in Orlando, some aren't even located in Florida and they have never even visited WDW. So don't be surprised if you get one that has no clue...But most are great and can assist you with almost any question you have.

You did the correct thing and got your request noted so you are good to go, also when you arrive and are checking-in be sure the Cast Member has you request.

Oh no - the Beckster and Laura, together on vaca! That can only mean ONE THING :confused3 : T-R-O-U-B-L-E :teeth: !!

I just wish you and your crew were visiting a little earlier would love to meet-up. Jeanne and Marcel are going to meet us for a few days during Laura's stay before our cruise.

My family is traveling in Dec. The 2nd thru 8th and we have been given a bunk bed in advance (DD has a medical condition that requires that she sleep alone). That being said, we have a courtyard view. Are there any rooms that you can see MK? or should we try to upgrade and get a woods view and hopefully get a MK view? We are arriving about 9:00am on the 2nd so hopefully an upgrade will be available. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

No kidding. When I booked our stay at the WL last year before I had purchased any books or researched anything online, I called and figured I would talk to someone who knew more than I did. Half way through my booking she asked if I wanted a Savannah view. I was like, uh, that's the AKL, not the WL. Then she was confused, thinking it was the same thing. I didn't know much back then, but I knew enough to know the different resorts. I asked if she had personally stayed there or seen it and she said no because she was in Ohio (or could have been Illinois, but it was someplace in the Midwest). I initally figured the call center would be in Orlando, or at least in Florida, but then realized it doesn't matter where the call center is. However, they should be trained enough to know the differences between the resorts.

Basic rule of call centers - if you get someone who doesn't seem to know what they are talking about or is rude, get their name, hangup and call back. The chance of getting them again is slim and if you do, just hang up and try again.

The Woods View wouldn't be an upgrade...it would be a down-grade and while I love the woods view and the Magic Kingdom in the distance, I would never give up an inner Courtyard View Room for one. Other than Concierge the Courtyard Views are the BEST.

Hey all! Thanks so much for your help..I really do appreciate it. Unfotunately the woods views are all booked up during our stay, but I am sure Courtyard (inner :thumbsup2 ) with the Bay Lake will be beautiful! Sorry if I sounded a little snippy It wasn't intentional I just felt that people were having their own personal discussions and not answering legitamite questions, but I was really just being impatient. Thank you for everyone who resonded at all and tried to help

Don't worry about it, you are always welcome here and yes ::yes:: there is a little personal chatter here because everyone loves the Lodge so much they feel the need to share.

But I can say if someone knows the answer to a question it will always be answered. If I don't know the answer I try and point you in the right direction or call and find out specifics. So if you have any more questions please ask.

We also understand about being impatient it's called DISNEY FEVER and everyone will catch it from time to time.

I know your Courtyard View (inner) :thumbsup2 will be Wonderful.
