Love the view of the Lodge, you can actually see the service area that the Standard View rooms overlook in the North Wing. Remember everyone that the photo is taking looking straight down, the rooms are on the 4th floor and higher so your views from the balconies will be outward toward the woods, CR and in the distance the Magic Kingdom.

Since some may have missed it thought I'd post a link to the overview shot of WL again.
The site is pretty amazing as you can "tour" around all of disney world and see some amazing closeup shots from above:

WL from Above

Cool! Thanks!

One question - can you point out for me where the busses stop?

Ooo, ooo, I can answer this one! If you look to where the front of the building is, towards the cars, move up and to the left. That looong thin green roofed corrador, at the end of it is where the busses are. It looks like a long walk, but it really isn't. And is sooo nice in the rain as you are totally dry.

Brought you today by the letter "o".

We are staying at WL next month. Where can I purchase a bottle of wine on property? We are flying and taking the DME. Can't be a carry-on anymore. Too risky to pack in my checked luggage. Too expensive to ship it ahead. Unless I order from Wine.com or something. Will the WL sign for my wine or do I need to be there?

Is the refrigerator in the room large enough for an open bottle of wine? There is a small fridge and a coffee maker without request right? What size filters? Will the fridge keep milk cold enough? All this reading has made me more confused!

Can I also get a 1/2 gallon of milk, peanut butter, creamer and bread at the WL? Is there a little store or something that I can buy this stuff? We were at the GF in concierge last time and I did not need to know any of this info!

Thanks so much!

If you click on the "N" on the compass you will actually see buses in the bottom of the screen. :moped:

It really is a guesstimate:
Because the bus has been temporarily rerouted back to the TTC your visits to The Grand Floridian and Polynesian will be very minimal just catch the bus at the # 1 bus stop to TTC (they run every 10 minutes) From TTC you can either walk to the Poly or take the resort monorail. (travel time less then 20 minutes) To the Grand Floridain add about 5 minutes.

For the fastest route From WL to AKL you will need to take the bus from WL to AK then transfer to the bus to AKL, or take the boat to MK then transfer to a bus going to the AKL I would allow 40 minutes for this for both routes.

For WL to AK it should take about 35 minutes

For WL to MGM it should take 25-30 minutes.

As the bus that goes to AK also stops at BB during operating hours it could take longer.

And the bus that goes to MGM shares with Ft Wilderness Campground.

Actually I have had all the busses share with Ft. Wilderness Campground but sometimes every bus doesn't. :confused3

Not sure of the exact dates that the free dining starts, but with the start of Free Dinning, MNSSHP and Food & Wine the attendance will be very high soon.

Thanks for all of your info - except for the last sentence. ;)
Most helpful.

Wow, I'm sorry you are more confused :confused3 from reading this thread.

I'll try and answer as many of your questions that I can.

If you will be visiting next month, your stay will be during Epcot's International Food & Wine Festival, you will have access to the best wines from all around the World to choose from. The Wilderness Lodge also has many fine wines available for purchase. Wine will be abundant during your visit, you shouldn't have any problems.

I don't know about the Lodge signing for a package from Wine.com, I have never used the company. If you still think you would like to use this service you should check with the Wine Company and the management at the Lodge. (Sorry)

There will be a refrigerator and a coffee pot in your room @ check-in, so you don't have to request either. The coffee pots are the small 4-cup size, the coffee is prepackaged in a circular filter. So you would need some type of small round filter.

As for the refrigerator being large enough for an open bottle of wine, I'm not sure, it would depend on the size of the bottle, the design of the bottle and rather you could angle the bottle in the cooling space. If you have 1/2 half a gallon of milk, & creamer in there probably not.

The refrigerators are all new at the Lodge, I have never had a problem with them keeping items place in them cold.

The Villas of Wilderness Lodge are located on the same property as Wilderness Lodge, the Villas have full kitchens so Disney always provides a selection of groceries for the guest. The items you listed are available at the Mercantile.

Hope this information helps, and that you have a Great Visit.

MagicInMyHeart-THANK YOU! And yes I meant to scream it ;) I appreciate your help. I think I will hold off on the wine until I get there and then I wont have to worry about the fridge capacity. I am planning on bringing coffee with me.

I am probably more confused because of the millions of Disney tidbits floating around in my brain :) But I am more than grateful that all this information is here! I am an info junky and this place is good about giving me exactly what I need (and a little more)!

So excited to finally be staying at the WL!

I did not think I was allowed to take bottles of wine from the F&W show at EPCOT. Please let me know if this is wrong before I buy the stuff at the hotel.

Thanks again!

Hello! We are leaving in 4 days for our first stay at the lodge! We are so excited!!!

I just called the WL directly to be sure my room requests were all in order. The CM I spoke to indiated that there are no bunks available for those rooms with a courtyard view.

???

I'm confused. She tells me that I needed to select that room type (bunk bed) when I booked the reservation. Well...that was not an option when I booked the reservation.

What do you think? Are there bunks in the courtyard rooms? I almost would rather have the bunks than the view!

Please help....

The Cast Member was wrong the new booking for Bunk-Beds starts in January.

Call again later and speak with another Cast Member, just to make sure your request are noted on your reservation. And to make sure the first Cast Member didn't remove your request.

Have a Great Trip

Festival Welcome Center

Where: Innoventions West
When: Daily 9:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m.

Welcome to the hub for all Festival information, featuring wine seminars, the wine shop, marvelous merchandise and more - including Disney Gift Cards, which you can purchase for a handy way to pay for so much fun at the Festival!

You have every wine located in the one area, and you may purchase wines from some of the booths through out the WorldShow Case. (Australian has some great wines)

Have Fun.

Kris,

You are more than allowed to purchase wine from the F&W show in EPCOT!! My DH and I can't wait to replenish our stock from last year.

It is nice to go around and sample the wine at the booths and if you really like them there are several places you can purchase the wine. One being the Festival Marketplace in Futureworld.

Just an FYI, when we stayed at the WL last year, I ordered a bottle of champagne for the room to be delivered as a surprise for my DH. When we got back from dinner the champage was not there but a note was. Found out that private dining cannot just leave any alcoholic beverages without an adult over 21's signature.

Good luck and enjoy the F&W!!!!

Yea, it's Dizneykid's fault that I know a little about wine. It started out every innocently with Jeanne sending me some extra coupons to taste a few of those Australian wines three years ago.

Oh and because I lucked up and got reservations at BoardWalk Villas that first year. I also spent $$$$$ to purchase an add-on to our DVC @ the BWV for when we visit during Food & Wine.

Unfortunately the Standard View rooms are only available with two queen size beds and are not located in the smoking optional North Wing. (Woods View/Inner Courtyard View) However if they let you add your request to your reservations, please have both your request listed as you will be visiting during a slower time at the Lodge and they may updgrade you at check-in. Never hurts to ask... :confused3

Beckie

Hi Beckie:

Thank you for this info :) I just called CRO and asked if I could add on those requests to my reservation. I even told the CM that I'm only booked in a standard room and not sure if I can make these requests or not. He verified that it was me on the phone (you know, the usual "please verify your name, address, and phone number") and then told me "Ok I've added 'king size bed' and 'smoking room' to your reservation. Is there anything else I can help you with??"

So I guess we'll see what happens, but it was nice to at least make the request :) We'll be there in early February so that may be a slow time and we may get our requests, but if not, then at least I know I tried.

Thanks again for all of the help you give to all of us about the Wildnerness Lodge! :sunny:

I am now in the process of changing all our touring days to accommodate a 'wine run' to EPCOT earlier in the trip :cheer2:

Thank you for the info.

Has anyone here ever also stayed at OKW :confused3

Here's the deal we have a quick trip planed for Oct and the WL is totally booked solid.

We got an awesome deal on a 2BDR at OKW from a DVC member.

We've never stayed at OKW but  the WL.

Any tips for those that have stayed at both :confused3

Thanks :goodvibes
