Thanks! My kids would be fine with the 2005 menu. I think I will wait a few more days and might decide to cancel our ADR for Friday night. I was thinking with so many people there, we might want to go to a restaurant, but the food looks great.

Edited to add...thanks for the Osborne info. I am sad to miss it, but am so excited to see WDW without all the Christmas stuff for the first time in years.

Kris,

I agree with Beckie. The days we will be at the F&W, I didn't do any ADR. We will just be grabbing some quick service when/if we feel hungry.

MY hubby and I have just decided to stay ay the wilderness lodge for our 30th wedding anniversary. We will be there from dec 18- dec 25. These pages have so much info, and I just wanted to say thanks. :goodvibes

Beckie,

Thank u for the info on OKW :thumbsup2

We are excited about the trip though I still wish the WL had an opening :guilty:

We will definitely be staying there during our trip next summer though. I will plan on booking early to ensure it!

Not sure whether we'll take a trip to the lodge this trip or not. We've done this on previous trips and sometimes it just depressing that we aren't staying there. Do u happen to know if they decorate for Halloween? We will be there 10/12-10/14.

Thanks!

Minnie
I have stayed a few times during October and have never seen any Halloween decorations @ any of the Disney Resorts.

Hi,
We just returned back night after last from a stay at the CR. One morning we decided to take a tour of WL since never been inside and only seen pics. Oh my goodness this is a lovely resort and glad we booked it for next year! We went to the front desk and was talking to the cm and she offered to show us a room (so nice). She took us to a first floor court yard view with a bunk bed in it.
Coming from the CR this room is small in comparison. But what it lacks in space is made up in decor and theme for sure! The carved bed finials are way cool. The bunk was really fun! Everything was really clean and even had a towel animal laying on the bed!
The lobby is amazing we stopped and took a rock in the chairs by the fireplace and it was so relaxing!

P.S.: My Dsis arrived at WDW today (quick trip for MNSSHP) she called from MGM and said they have started putting up the Christmas Lights for the The Osborne Family Spectacle of Lights :cool1:

Beckie is right..the lights don't start until November. It does take months to string them..as a matter of fact, when I was there in August they had already started putting the lights up on NY Street. They are one of my favorite holiday happenings! :goodvibes

Oh, you are just going to  the lodge at Christmas!!!! I'm envious! :goodvibes

So I finally decided that we will be staying at WL on our next trip (Sept 2007 - I like to plan early :) ). It will be me, DH, DS, and the grandparents. I defnitely want a separate room from my parents, but I was wondering if WL has any rooms that are adjoining. It would be nice if while DS was napping, the adults would be able to be next door.
All the info on this thread is a great help!

Welcome to the thread.

While I understand what you would like, it sounds like you want connecting rooms not adjoining. Connecting rooms have a common door that connects two rooms, adjoining rooms are rooms located close to each other. (Across the hall or a few doors down) You need to make sure you make the correct request.

Any more questions just ask away.

Just updating with another DIS-Member

I have looked through much of the thread including the 1st great page, but maybe I missed this....

We have requested a bunkbed room for courtyard view. Could this be anywhere (inner/outer/north/south wing/lobby) and if so, should I still be more specific? I would love to get a view of the lake too - would this still be possible?

Thanks so much!

Does anyone have the phone number for the Lodge?

I want to give my family an "incase of an emergency" number before we leave.

Courtyard views can be either wing and there are a few of them off the lobby, but the majority of them are in the wings. Request an "inner" courtyard so you don't get a view of the Villa's courtyard. Really, from any Courtyard room, you'll be able to see the lake...depending upon which wing you are in, you'd have to look either right or left :)

As soon as you arrived I would call your family and give them your room #, the desk won't give out your room #..they will only forward the call to your room or your voicemail :)
