The new WDW info channel is....ugh..bad :(

Hey,

While I did read a while back about the changes to the channel, I didn't think it would be as bad as it actually was. I mean the girl does a good job, but overall the whole thing is just boring. It doesn't hype the parks up at all like the old channel did. If that was a small segment added to the original channel it would have been fine, but having only that was a big dissapointment. It didn't ruin my trip or anything, lol, but when I use to watch the old stuff on that channel it got me psyched to be in WDW.

I have to agree - I didn't like it when we saw it on our last jaunt at all. I used to like it as sort of a "soundtrack" to our stay. Now it's just not that exciting.....

I agree! I felt like they focused more on the actress than on the parks and attractions.

That is what I thought. The entire tv loop focuses too much on Kristen and not enough on the actual attractions. Too many camera shots of her doing cutesy poses. Not enough theme park information. Bring Back the Zip A Dee Doo Dah channel!

Do you mean to say that I will no longer receive my "Zip-a-dee-doo-dah, Tip for Today"? Quite honestly, it didn't matter one iota to me that those tips were (at this point) old news and for the most part useless. I liked the concept and I loved the little song. What a shame.

I remember when it was just the guy in the yellow shirt. That was okay, but then the other two came along, and the guy in the purple shirt really annoyed me. I hope at least that they got rid of him.

Last time I was there, in May, I hated it so much that I watched the Spanish version-for some reason, on that channel they still do (or at least did in May) the "Zip a dee do dah Tip for the Day". What's funny is that they sing the whole thing "Zip a dee do dah Tip for the day" in English, which is good since I wouldn't have known the Spanish for "Tip for the day".

My daughter (age 7) asked me how come the lady was trying to be like Samantha Brown...she wanted to know why Disney couldn't get their own person.

I agree, they could of just added the "new" loop to the zip-a-dee-doo-da- tip for the day. They only go over what the top 10 rides?

YES, you can still get a zip -a -dee- do- da on the spanish channel (or at least @ the polynesian we did) (but not at CR)? They both seem to have different tv channels. Of course it probably would of helped if I spoke spanish, but my memory was pretty good, started picking up some "new" words.

Zip-A-Dee-Doo-Dah Day.....one more good thing gone from WDW that will have fond memories attached to it. We may not get to experience it again...but the fun memories will remain with us.

We were thinking they should GET Samantha Brown to do the show. She would be great at it, and we just love her!

aside: We ran into her on the streets of Gatlinburg, TN a few months ago. She was so nice to talk to us, let us get a few pics, and get an autograph. Just as cute AND funny in person!!!

Just got back on Sat night and we felt the same way guys! Boring, boring, boring. Dh, who usually doesn't notice these things, did say that girl seems to be trying to be the Great Hotels girl and not doing such a great job. Wouldn't you think the parks would stand on their own merit and not need that fake perkiness? Bring back the old channel!!!

While it is a cute top 7, I think it would have been a nice addition, not replacement, to the WDW channel.


LOL- the Samantha Brown look alike is just too funny. My boys even asked if it was the same person. I was telling DH that the Travel Channel take off was not good.

I miss the old zip-a-dee-doo-da channel too . The good thing about Krista though is she puts me to sleep. I wish I could tape her and play it at home before bed. Five minutes of Krista and I'm out like a light
