I think one of the reasons some of us like the DB is that you can state your honest thoughts and opinions on topics. You can discuss topics that you might not feel comfortable discussing with family and friends (like religion and politics) for fear of hurt feelings, losing friends or serious family fights. LOL.

Unfortunately, some people take it too far and show no respect for others. They get a bit self-righteous and nasty--probably because it is the internet and not an "actual human being". Does this make sense? The funny thing is that I actually have a mental picture for some of these people. Like one person that was involved in the "lapping" debate. In my mind she looks, speaks and acts like Mrs. Kravitz(?) the nosey next door neighbor on "Bewitched".

Hey Bichon Barb! I just got home from DS-Josh's swim class & the grocery. The kids have eaten lunch & so I just popped in to say "hey". You may have already mentioned this, but did your husband hook up the computer at home? Is everything working OK from home?

[color=CC00CC]Kismetdreams[/color], yep you got it. My name comes from my being a huge Grateful Dead fan. I saw them a bunch (over 75 times) while I was in college in the early 90's. Just in case some of you folks think I was using my parents money to finance these excursions, I wasn't. I had student loans (which I am paying off now), so my folks didn't pay for my school. I worked full time starting my Sophomore year in college while attending college full time. While I didn't graduate in 4 years, I did eventually & I got all my wild & craziness out (well, most of it anyway). Wild & crazy to me now is drinking those 1/2 yard beers at that little cart outside Rose & Crown & knocking back a few margartitas at San Angel. Woo Hoo!

Gail - GREAT color choice! Let me give you a little Tagliarchy history on your color. A while ago we ran a poll to decide what color was the Tag Fairy's favorite. I was the sponsor for <font face=ransom size=4 color=purple>purple!</font> (it was my original color). I even learned to add music to posts *insert "Purple People Eater" song here* ...but I have now promised ohanafamily that I'll use this knowledge wisely! Anyway, the Tag Fairy did not visit our poll and we had a tie so that's why the Tag Fairy's name appears in 2 colors!

<font face=technical size=4 color=teal>Until Mad4Mickey selects her own color, I propose that we give her the a color close to the one chosen by the Tag Fairy for her "Well loved by the Tagliarchy" tag.

Ok, folks I need some advice fast!! [color=FF66CC]llebrekniT[/color] tried to delete her trip reports, but cannot. So, she is going to go through & replace each report with a smilie. Here's her dilemna: Someone on the DB posted a link to one day of her trip reports. She wants to put a special smilie for anyone who clicks on that link. I don't want her to get in trouble, so I want to know if it would be OK for her to post this:

From our family to the all-knowing DBer's:

Will she get in trouble?

Call me conservative, but I don't think that would be too cool. How about her editing it just to have a different type of day. She can edit it and change it. She could even just say something like she did not like what was being said about her on the DB, so her trip report for the day is bye-bye. Even though she cannot delete it, she can edit it.

Everyone, I am making homemade chocolate chip cookies right now. My picture won't transfer. Dang it! Imagine fresh hot chocolate chip cookies and everyone dig in!

Tigger Fans!, If I recall, you figured out the sound all by yourself, but I had alredy asked the moderators if music was OK; they were the ones that said that they would put a stop to it if it got too terribly obnoxious (which it really hasn't) So we limit ourselves to an occasional song...

Crap! Just when things start getting good around here I have to leave! I usually don't leave the office until 2:15 p.m., but I have to stop at the grocery store and drop off some movies at the library before the kiddies get home.

Deadheadbelle. Rob got the computer back and hooked it up, but I guess there is now some problem with "Verizon and the new software, blah, blah, blah" That's all I heard 'cause I blocked him out. I didn't want to hear any problems, because I was busy having a hissy fit at the kids. I had just cleaned their room and they totalled it again. That was on top of the bickering and rough housing all evening. Then there was the whining because a book report needed to be finished. And I can't remember the last time the boy practiced his saxaphone Those little hedonists! I don't know where they get it! Anyway, PS2 is officially unplugged until they get their act together.

Phew, I feel better!

Anyway, I can't believe someone posted a link to llebrekniT's trip report. I didn't read any of the "sick" debate. Now I have to wait until the morning.

P.S. I like the unrestrained moonies!

I did PM the moderator AND I also did the "report this post to the moderator" option. I didn't get a reply from either. Although no one ever came right out and used my name, the references to my trip report were very easy to pick up on and very specific to the things that happened to us AND the link posted leaves no doubt who they are talking about. So I tried to delete my trip report and was not able to, so I went a different route.

I refuse to be the subject of one their debates. I didn't ask for it, I didn't start it as one poster said "when someone puts them self out there, they leave themselves open for, blah, blah, blah..." I posted a trip report, not a topic on the debate board. AND I have not responded on that thread and will not. I refuse to stoop to their level, they will not draw me in. Vile, nasty humans over there.
