Oh no, we always do 2 rooms. A king for us, & doubles/queens for them. It doesn't matter if it is a hotel or even a cruise cabin, always 2.

Whew! Your kids are lucky. For my family of 5, my son was often "floor boy"! :lmao:

Trust me, we do the 2 rooms for our (dh & I) benefit, not our kids.;)

this exchange gave me the giggles... :goodvibes reminded me of my childhood & our family of six squashed in one room down the Jersey shore... LOl "floor boy" - we had "floor BOYS" - at least my sister and I had the other full size bed. lol

DH & I love a King and sometimes will put DD on a sofabed or rollaway for a short trip - but we just can't do that to her for eight nights! She loves the Dolphin's "heavenly beds" as much as we do! :cloud9:

Thanks for all the replies! We are now trying to book, (Dolphin) and no king rooms are available.:sad2:
There are doubles for almost every room type, but no kings. Are there only a small amount of king rooms?
BTW, it is the same at Swan too. Also, we are spoiled by our king bed,, and wouldn't want 2 queens.

Thanks!

Just a thought, but since you were going to book 2 rooms anyway, have you checked on a 1 bedroom executive suite?
That gives you a king size sico bed in one room with 2 doubles in the other. This room type isn't counted in the King bed room inventory, so may well be available.

I'm sure this has already come up so I'm sorry for the repeat...My family is going to WDW on Free Dining staying at CBR, and now my Brother and his family wants to come too!! YEAH!! They have stayed at the Dolphin before and really liked it, but I was wondering if Free Dining Promo can be used when staying at the Swan or Dolphin??

No, Swan & Dolphin are not involved with Disney dining plan. Sorry.

Hmmm...I didn't think about that option! I will have to see if it is available.

Thanks!

I like the east wing, high up, looking at Epcot, Boardwalk.

We will be staying at the Swan soon, and I was wondering if you know if there are any views that face Epcot from any of the Executive Suites? I have Starwood points that I may be able to use to upgrade my view, if needed.
TIA

Anyone know hat the convention is that is booked June 7-9 at the S/D? We are trying to add a night at the beginning of our WDW portion of our trip (Have to depart a day earlier than planned :sad1:) but so far still sold out. I know to keep trying , but was wondering if anyone knew whose hogging up all the rooms!;) Also wondering too, if we can get the day, will the room be the left over bottom of the barrel one since they are sold out. We have stayed 3 times at the Dolphin and once we too got the "amazing" roof top dunpster view...it was a short 3 day stay so just dealt with it, but would prefer not getting it again. Anyone who has paid their dues with this view should be exempt of a repeat!

eta: Possibly IBM conference?

This is the only one I know about-of course, there may be others. I would say "no" about the "bottom of the barrel". We've stayed plenty of times during conventions and it didn't seem to effect the room we got.
We, too, got the "coveted dumpster view" once-at first I was bummed, but it never really bothered us. We sat out on the balcony and watched the trucks and enjoyed the "beautiful" roof below us. :rotfl: What else can you do?

Seven weeks from right this minute and we will have checked in to the Dolphin for the first leg of our split stay! I am soooooo excited, but it seems so far away still! ARGH! Come on July!!!

We have booked an Alcove suite in the Dolphin, is there a small freezer in the fridge? Thanks, Tracey
I'm not sure if the fridges in the suites are different, but the standard rooms refrigerators did not have freezers...which meant hiking down to the the ice machine every night.

I finally wised up and tucked the plastic liner bag from the ice bucket into my park bag, so that we could fill it up with ice on our way back to the room at the end of the evening.

Hi Everyone! We are going back and forth on where to stay for our upcoming trip 12/12 - 12/19. We aren't staying onsite due to the prices for the last 2 nights. In the running are Bonnet Creek, Caribe Royale and Dolphin. I really would prefer the Dolphin because of location and not having to rent a car to get around. There are times when me and DS ( not sure he is joining us this trip) like to wander around WS while DH relaxes back in the room.

S/D site has this special. Stay at least 6 nights and get the 6th night free. There is also a $100 food & beverage credit for our stay. I was quoted a total of $1003.88 for the 6 nights plus a room upgrade which is part of the package and I understand based on availability. The rate quoted includes the rm/tax/resort fee and tax. Our first night--we are going to stay at Poly or CR so I can have my seeing the castle and monorail fix lol Anyway---the one hitch to the reservation is it is fully payable at time of booking. 1 nite r/t forfeit to cancel at any time up to 72 hours.

To me this sounds like a good deal. My only concern is that the S/D will come out with an even better deal for my dates and now I won't be able to cancel because I would lose almost $200 and therefore I am sure take away any discount on the better deal. So keeping all this in mind, do you guys have any idea of what the lowest rates were for in December's past? The rate would have to go pretty low to make this not the best deal. I figure 1003 plus the 100 credit--I rationalize the room is actually costing us $903.88 which comes to $150.64 per night with all taxes and resort fees. The rate would have to go to about $120 a night for it to be a better deal. Has it happened in Dec before and I'll mention I have no points to use or any other affiliations for a better rate!

Hope I didnt confuse anyone as I am confusing myself writing this lol

Thanks, chances are that if it's not in the standard rooms, I doubt it would be in the alcove suite. The main feature to the alcove suite is the extra space not kitchenette etc.

What a good idea, wish I had thought of that. Last trip we filled our cooler BAG with water bottles and ice to take to the parks, by the afternoon the cooler bag (resting on the top or inside the stroller) managed to get the kids wet LOL!:rotfl: It annoyed them, made me laugh, but no worries, they got me back with the water misters!!!!:rotfl2:

I've stayed at The Dolphin twice in December - 2006 & 2008 & paid $225 & $210 per night for those stays. I haven't seen The Dolphin as low as $120 at all in recent years - I think you've got a good deal there for $150/nt including your fees & taxes.

Oh, for that heavenly bed in just one week!!!
The price you got for the Dolphin stay in Dec is very good. Really think on that one!

Counting down the nights until I get to snuggle into one of those heavenly beds - only 9 more sleeps, then :cloud9:
Does anyone know how many Executive Suites at the Swan have balconies? And should we request a balcony at check-in, or just take what they give us?
I am crazy excited to see the Swan again!!!!
