Have a great trip, Mike. All your planning will pay off.

Welcome to the dis, P.
And no, Disney rewards, points can not be used for food or drinks.
Thanks!
Ahh...that does not make me happy!!I'm assuming if we walk over to the boardwalk hotel or those restaurants, we could use them there??

Disney Visa Rewards Dollars can be used at any of the parks or their resorts. The Swan and Dolphin are not owned by Disney.
Not to be dense...but does that include the restaurants around the boardwalk?
TIA![]()
Not sure about Big River Grille, but I think it applies to most others. Won't you be eating inside any of the theme parks?
Oh, Ok. Yes, I'm sure we will...I'm just a worrier! I knew that the swan/dolphin weren't disney owned, but for some reason my mind was thinking we could still use our rewards. Oh, well...I'm sure we will not have any troubles using them up in the parksSome cold beverages by the pool paid for with rewards would have been nice!!
Thanks so much for help![]()
You can charge food & beverages at the Swan/Dolphin to your room. If you are a Starwood Preferred Guest member, you will earn SPG points for those purchases, as well as for your hotel room.

Yay for September birthdays!Hello S/D fans! I just booked at the Swan for my birthday trip at the end of SeptemberSo, I have a strange question that I hope someone can answer. Do all of the rooms at the Swan have floor to ceiling windows? I absolutely LOVE floor to ceiling windows, so I actually don't want a balcony (it obstructs half the view!).
I booked with the Sunsational Savings code, which includes a complimentary room upgrade based on availability at checkin. The room I currently have is the tradional, 2 queen, limited view. I'm assuming this doesn't have a balcony, but will it have floor to ceiling windows? And if I am lucky enough to get an upgrade, I would like a king room, but would that mean I would have to have a balcony? Are there any king rooms without balconies, with floor to ceiling windows, and would they think I'm absolutely insane for requesting the upgrade be to a king room, without a balcony, with floor to ceiling windows? Can they even tell which rooms are like that from the computer?
Thanks for your help!
Yay for September birthdays!
From the pics on the S/D site, it looks like the rooms without a balcony have windows that are quite large, but not floor-to-ceiling. I'd guess that they're maybe 2 ft off the floor, but still let in quite a bit of light.
Also, as far as I know, the S&D do not charge extra for king-bedded rooms. When I was pricing my trip, the price points were based on views and balconies...a double queen room was the same price as a king room, as long as they were in the same category, i.e. traditional view, resort view, etc.
I would guess that there are at least a few non-balcony rooms with king beds. And no, I wouldn't imagine that they'd think you were crazy for requesting one!
PS - be sure to add that you're celebrating a birthday to your reservation. Last year when I was there for my 50th, I came back to the room the first night to find balloons, chocolate-dipped fruit...and cheesecake!![]()
Yes there is.Sorry to ask, as I should remember--is there a fridge in the room?
Thanks!![]()
