Ahh...that does not make me happy!!:scared1: I'm assuming if we walk over to the boardwalk hotel or those restaurants, we could use them there??:confused3

Disney Visa Rewards Dollars can be used at any of the parks or their resorts. The Swan and Dolphin are not owned by Disney.

Not to be dense...but does that include the restaurants around the boardwalk?
TIA :)

Not sure about Big River Grille, but I think it applies to most others. Won't you be eating inside any of the theme parks?

Oh, Ok. Yes, I'm sure we will...I'm just a worrier! I knew that the swan/dolphin weren't disney owned, but for some reason my mind was thinking we could still use our rewards. Oh, well...I'm sure we will not have any troubles using them up in the parks :rotfl: Some cold beverages by the pool paid for with rewards would have been nice!! :rolleyes1
Thanks so much for help :)

You can charge food & beverages at the Swan/Dolphin to your room. If you are a Starwood Preferred Guest member, you will earn SPG points for those purchases, as well as for your hotel room.

I did not know that. We charged stuff to our room (I believe) 2 years ago. We stayed at the Swan before our cruise. Maybe I should ck to see how many points we have!! Thanks!! :)

Have a great trip, Mike. All your planning will pay off. :woohoo:

Thanks Dan,

In my room right now! We are extremely impressed with our executive suite. As of now we have we have 3 fridges, but still haven't checked every drawer. :rotfl: the room has been renovated very recently and are very spacious. Both rooms also have wet bars and the bedroom has a large walk in closet that would easily hold the pack in play.

The only negative is that we are on the ground floor, not very far from the boat launch. The rooms are in a corner area, with my rooms has a view of tree trunks and building. If you sit on the floor of the bedroom, the room window is the start of the half circle, we have a nice view of the boat dock and swan.

Will try to get a shot of our view up in the next day or two, and maybe a few quick shots of the room.

Well, have been up since 3am, so gonna try to get a half hour nap before we head out to our 6pm ADR in Epcot.

Mike, thank you for posting. DH & I will be so happy to see pictures of those rooms!!!
The Executive Suites are our favorite and we haven't seen the recently renovated ones yet. Funny how exciting a picture can be to you months ahead of an upcoming trip, but it just makes you feel great to see them. Thank you again for checking in with those wonderful details.

YAY, Mike!! Sounds like your trip is off to a great start! :thumbsup2

Have a wonderful time and we will be happy to see your pictures and hear all about your adventures!! :goodvibes

Hi everyone!..just a quick question...i'm thinking of switch resorts to the dolphin for this august....if i booked through disney can i change my ressie to the dolphin with disney as well...or do i have to go through starwood website?
The rates are really good for my family?......How are the busses to the parks?
i stayed there years ago and don't remember them being a problem?
thnks for your help
sharon

Hello Sharon!

Swan/Dolphin cannot be booked through Disney that I'm aware of, since they're not Disney-owned. I did see some people got rates of $119/nt for August throught the Starwood website - that's a great rate!

They share the buses with YC, BC & BW- so they are the exact same ones used for the Disney properties, shared. We've never had an issue with waiting for buses when staying at S/D.

Hello S/D fans! I just booked at the Swan for my birthday trip at the end of September :yay: So, I have a strange question that I hope someone can answer. Do all of the rooms at the Swan have floor to ceiling windows? I absolutely LOVE floor to ceiling windows, so I actually don't want a balcony (it obstructs half the view!).

I booked with the Sunsational Savings code, which includes a complimentary room upgrade based on availability at checkin. The room I currently have is the tradional, 2 queen, limited view. I'm assuming this doesn't have a balcony, but will it have floor to ceiling windows? And if I am lucky enough to get an upgrade, I would like a king room, but would that mean I would have to have a balcony? Are there any king rooms without balconies, with floor to ceiling windows, and would they think I'm absolutely insane for requesting the upgrade be to a king room, without a balcony, with floor to ceiling windows? :rotfl:Can they even tell which rooms are like that from the computer?

Thanks for your help!

Yay for September birthdays! :thumbsup2

From the pics on the S/D site, it looks like the rooms without a balcony have windows that are quite large, but not floor-to-ceiling. I'd guess that they're maybe 2 ft off the floor, but still let in quite a bit of light.

Also, as far as I know, the S&D do not charge extra for king-bedded rooms. When I was pricing my trip, the price points were based on views and balconies...a double queen room was the same price as a king room, as long as they were in the same category, i.e. traditional view, resort view, etc.

I would guess that there are at least a few non-balcony rooms with king beds. And no, I wouldn't imagine that they'd think you were crazy for requesting one!

PS - be sure to add that you're celebrating a birthday to your reservation. Last year when I was there for my 50th, I came back to the room the first night to find balloons, chocolate-dipped fruit...and cheesecake! :cloud9:

Thank you for your quick response Lexi! I did some searches for pictures and I found this one:

It's kind of hard to tell, but the windows are definitely big enough for me :goodvibes

Thank you for the tip about telling them it's your birthday on your reservation! That's really cool. So you went in September last year? How was it? I picked to go then because the crowds are supposed to be incredibly low, and the hotel prices also seemed to be at their lowest. I was a bit hesitant about the weather, but I'm from Texas so I figured it can't be that bad!
