Hope it Helps.
Best Regards.

Thank you for posting this! I checked the rates for the weekend we are going to be there and they were $20 cheaper than the teacher rate (which was at least $20 cheaper than the standard rate). I called and was able to get it adjusted. The only catch is you pay upfront and it's nonrefundable.

I'm going to call about the ALLEARS rate tomorrow. But I think we're going to end up booking this. We're still holding out for the GP RO discount on YC but I don't think that's going to come until Monday. And the Dolphin price has gone down so much -- the price difference would now be about $400. That's a much bigger difference than it was two weeks ago. I can think of a lot of things we can do with $400, like pay for the MNSSHP and costumes we just bought. ;)

Hi everyone
We are just back from our trip, staying at the Dolphin
We were on the 14th floor,, on the far end. I could see a little bit of fireworks from epcot. Could see the TOT from the room. No balcony. I do wish they had the sofa bed/couch somewhere other than directly in front of the windows,,, had to kneel on the couch to look out.
It was my first trip to Dolphin- first time not staying in a "Disney" resort.
I was a little worried about the lack of theming, but it really wasnt too much of an impact.
Could sometimes hear the people in the room next to us. Luckily, just heard laughing talking.....
We joined SPG/AAA before making the reservations. Room wasnt ready when we were checking in (got there before 1:00) She told us she could get us into a room right away,,, I said sure, if that would be a better view. It was not,, it would have been a lesser room,,, so we decided to wait.
Was great having the 2 bottles of water each day in the room, and I did make use of the internet. I also made good use of the gym- almost every morning I would go down and sit in the heat sauna. I love the heat saunas! The sauna is what made the mandatory resort fee worthwhile for me.
We rented a car- if we went again, I would just get a service like Happy Limo to get from the airport. Only used the car to go to AK once,, and stopped at the outlet on the way to and from the airport. I dont think the parking fee was worth the few times we needed the car. (we are 2 adults, no kids- kids may make the car more worthwhile)
We choose to have maid service each day- for clean towels, and refreshed toiletries. The room was always cleaned nicely, however, about half the time we did not get new soaps. Not a bg enough deal to complain about though.
The one thing I was a little disappointed in was the Heavenly beds. We had 1 king bed. Maybe we had an older one- seemed like a regular bed with a regular top on it. I did like that the sheets/covers were white. The Disney resort ones are all very Busy- to hide a multitude of sins, I am sure.
Dont forget the AAA discount when eating. We had 2 breaksfasts at Fresh. Forgot the first time- saved us $8 the second time when we remembered. Loved the fresh juices.
There were conventiosn there, but they made no difference in the stay- woudl see them crowded around the bar sometimes, but if you didnt want to sit at the bar, no worries!
Guest Services and the Disney type store are both sort of hidden from the main lobby. The couple times we went to guest services, there was never a line.
Biggest plus about the Dolphin is location. When the room wasnt ready, we walked to Epcot, sat and had a drink in the UK, and they called us when the room was ready. We started walking a couple times right as the boat was leaving, and each time we beat the boat to international gateway.
But the walk was getting long by the end of the week, and we started to use the boat more.
The walk to Studios was nice, a little longer. Did take the boat back.
All in all,, the Dolphin was very nice. Would stay again, if we got a really good rate like we did this time (AP rate). Just wouldnt rent a car again.

Thanks for that tip! I found out our last trip that some of the stores in DTD give a AAA discount off of your purchases but it didn't occur to me to ask at restaurants.

Also, we are staying at the Dolphin in a few weeks and were booked with the Allears rate (which is fully refundable) for $165/night but just switched yesterday to the promo on the Starwood website and it ended up being $139/night. That Starwood promo is a prepaid, non refundable and non changeable.

Hi everyone.. my daughter's dance company is planning a trip to Disney at the end of June. I believe they will be staying at the dolphin. Do the rooms have queen or double beds? Thank you

Dolphin has doubles; Swan has queens. :)

I google "disney dolphin conferences 2011"...sometimes throwing in "orlando" and the specific month I'm looking for. I can't say that the info is comprehensive, but it usually gives me a good overview of what's going on at a given time of the year.

Thanks!

Well, after waiting for the RO discount for what seems like forever -- we decided to take the Dolphin Starpicks rate. Base rate was $139 but we have 3 adults so it was $164 with the extra adult fee. Still cheaper than all the other rates. (I called for the ALLEARS rate today and they told me $165 before the $25 extra adult charge.)

So I booked. Now I need to go cancel my rack reservation and finalize my plans. :yay: And read up on the Dolphin! We're very excited about this.

For anyone who had a room and got $100 credit - what did you use the credit on?

We used the "Sunsational Savings Rate" over Thanksgiving week last year. Gave us a $100 credit to use for food and beverage at the Dolphin. We went to Shula's and took advantage of Camp Dolphin.
While they told me prior to the trip that the credit could only be used for food and beverage, the front desk told me that they credit the $100 to the final bill whether we ate there or not.
**It's not in the rate terms that way, so probably safer to just plan on utilizing the many food and beverage options there.

Can you do online check in at the Swan?

Alos, what is the price per day for a cot in the room?

No online check-in, and a rollaway is usually $25/day.

** A rollaway is no charge if it's for a child. However, according to the SPG web site - rollaways are unavailable in rooms with 2 queen beds.

We stayed at the Dolphin in August and only used $18 towards food purchases. The rest was applied to the resort charges. Make sure you ask at the beginning of your stay to make sure they will do that.

Hi everyone! I think you people might be the most knowledgeable bunch of people for my question: Are reservations required for breakfast at Fresh? We are staying at the BWV and are planning on having breakfast there one morning, it looks like a wonderful option! :goodvibes So any help would be very much appreciated! :thumbsup2

Next week we'll wake up to an awesome breakfast at Fresh!!! Certainly beats the breakfast cuisine I serve!!!:thumbsup2
