I suppose that's a good sign nobody was in line, whereas on that same thread the OP reported that the regular kiosks were swarmed!! I did note he mentioned it was on a Friday or Saturday - I wonder if it was just a weekend thing, or only on busy days, etc.?? Has anyone seen anyone at Swan or Dolphin in the lobby with iPads? I know I saw an earlier report of it, which is why I was wondering if that was still available. Has anyone actually called S/D to see what they say about it? (I don't have any upcoming stays there or I would! We stayed there in October but was a split stay and no park time not covered by our GF FP+.) I did not see anyone there with iPads, but later reports had them in the lobby.
We just got back from the Swan today. We were at Epcot on Monday, March 2 at rope drop. We asked the first CM upon entry where the kiosk fp+ was and he said the nearest one open right now was up by the tip board. We went up the hill and asked again to the CM at the France bridge and she said 'oh, there he is in the turquoise shirt. He just got here.' So we went back there just past the Int. Gateway Epcot entrance. We were 2nd couple in line for this Dolphin and Swan fp+ kiosk. He was setup by 9:05am.
I saw there were CMs at that table later at noon when we left for lunch as well. Just fyi

Our family is headed down 9/12-9/21. After pondering for too long before booking (2 measley days), the Dolphin sold out of standard rooms! The next best cost-effective option was the Swan deluxe alcove room. It probably works out better anyway- we have 3 kids (10,8 & 6) and the extra space and windows will be nice for our 10 day stay.

How is the pull out sofa? Is it really a King sized pullout? Is it as "heavenly" as the beds? hee-hee
Anyone know what kind of view I can expect? Or, what the odds of a balcony are?

Lastly, what is a Hollywood bath? Is this an upgrade from a heavenly bath?

Any other pictures or details of the alcove rooms would be much appreciated!

I am SO EXCITED to stay in the Epcot resort area.

We stayed in a deluxe alcove room at the Swan in January. Our room had a king size bed and a sofa bed. The sofa bed was definitely not king sized; it was just a regular sofa bed. The sofa bed mattress was pretty ordinary - I wouldn't have wanted to sleep on it, but it was fine for our 6 year old.
Anyone know what kind of view I can expect?
Before we arrived, I requested a room on a high floor on the end of the building near the Boardwalk. We were assigned room 943, and from the two windows facing northeast, we had perfect views of the Boardwalk, Epcot, Illuminations, etc. From the two windows facing northwest, we had a nice view of the Dolphin, and we could even see Cinderella Castle and Wishes off in the distance.
Or, what the odds of a balcony are?
I'm pretty sure deluxe alcove room with a balcony is a separate room type, so you won't get a balcony unless you book that room type, or if you happen to get upgraded.

One nice thing about the deluxe alcove rooms is the abundance of storage space. Our room had a large dresser/desk in the alcove part of the room, the fridge and more storage space under the TV, and an enormous dresser next to the bed. We had more than enough space for all of our clothes, breakfast foods, snacks, cases of bottled water, etc. for our 8 night stay.

I see Toadie answered most of your questions, but I'll jump in on the Hollywood bath question. A Hollywood bath means that there are two vanities w/sink: one inside the bathroom, and one outside the bathroom, across from the closet area. The extra vanity really comes in handy when everyone is trying to get ready in the morning.

You can find photos of our stay in a Swan alcove room here. And as you said, having the extra room and windows were great!

Hope you have a wonderful trip.

Good News Tonight.... sorry it's not about FP+ but....

everyday I obsessively check the S/D website to see if my room rate has dropped and today I was rewarded! :cool1:

My rate at the Dolphin for May 5-10 dropped by $30 per night! And I have two rooms booked so saving $60 per night! :thumbsup2

I have booked AAA resort credit rates since I'm not a teacher, nurse or military.

So check your rates again, good luck!

Now if I can just get the FP+ in advance....

Sorry about the FP+, but hopefully you will be able to book what you want in the parks. Enjoy the pool and Cabana pool bar...:cloud9:

We are a family of two adults and two teenage girls from the UK and we are staying at the Swan for 11 nights from 31 July 2014.

We booked our room as part of a UK package holiday and have paid for a standard courtyard view room.

We are SPG members, only the basic membership level, and have stayed at the Swan previously in 2010. We are also celebrating my daughter's 16th birthday and our 19th wedding anniversary!

We would really like a room on a high floor with a nice view, and would also love to be upgraded to a balcony room as we could do with a bit of extra space!

I have asked my travel agent to add these requests to my reservation, but should I email or telephone Starwood or the Swan directly to make sure my room requests have been added? Is there a specific telephone number or email address for this purpose?

Also, what are my chances of being upgraded for free to a room with a balcony?!

And also are there any specific nice views I could ask for?!

Many thanks for any advice. :)

When I changed my room rate last night I called this number which is the S/D number and asked for "on site reservations" then you are talking to someone in the hotel. I also wanted to be sure my requests were noted. Good luck!

Does anyone know if are there S/D FP+ tables in all the parks?

I think so. I'm at the Swan right now and I definitely saw the one at international gateway. I wasn't looking for them but the IG one is really obvious.

We got a map at check in last night. Every park has a S&D station. The AK station is at the far end of the park? MK and DHS are at the front of the park and Epcot is at the rear entry.
