For anyone who has stayed on the AAA rate with breakfast included at the Dolphin...what is the breakfast?

We did that several months ago. Breakfast was in Fresh.

Would love to have an updated menu and prices from Picabu at the Dolphin and also Garden Grove at the Swan..

Also does anyone know if Boardwalk bakery still exists....

Thanks for any info

Boardwalk Bakery is still there, and expanded recently.

Wow. That's good. I kind of expected a coffee and danish from the lobby. Is the buffet included, or do you order off the menu, or is it something else?

As Dan said, yes it does still exist. We were there in May and had great sandwiches and cupcakes. I still think about the strawberry cupcake...

That sounds really good. What time of year is that? I am arriving next week and can't wait! Oh I'm not thrilled about that resort fee, but even when I added the fee to the rate we got it was still less than the nearby Epcot resorts standard room with my 30% pin discount...and I booked a boardwalk view with balcony.

I have a transportation question as well. Since our first night is at the YC, we are using Magical Express on arrival. For our return to the airport, I just figured I would get a taxi or use Tiffany (used them in the past), but I'm wondering since this trip is just the two of us, maybe there's a better/cheaper option? What is the cost for Mears?

Thanks!
Kerry

Priced Mears at $28 one-way per person - however, they've a website you can price out your options

9/26-10/2 - over the 1st wkend of F&W at epcot :flower3:

I had never been in the Swan or Dolphin before 2012...silly me. I know there was a big renovation of the lobbies in 2006 (I think). Do any of you long-time Swan/Dolphin goers have any pictures of the lobbies before the renovations? Just wondering what they looked like before.

I may have posted the above too quickly. I was able to find an old pictures thread from 2008. Dan has some pictures of the pre-renovated resorts.

Okay, this is getting a little foolish. I'm thinking Dan Murphy's lobby pictures that I found may have been post renovation, so I guess I'm still hoping to find some pre-renovation pictures of the S/D lobbies.

I have taken Tiffany Town Car before and also
Florida Tours transportation which sponsors our Transportation board..

Both of these are very professional drivers and nice
to get to where we want to be FAST..

We arrived home yesterday afternoon after a wonderful 8 night, 9 day stay at Dolphin. Our room was exceptionally clean and the hallways were pristine with new carpet and paint. Gartner was about to descend upon the resort and the Dolphin staff was hopping to get all in order before the symposium. The lunch pavilion set up for the Gartner crew takes up the poolside walkway on the Swan side--huge!

When we arrived, the Dolphin fountain was being repainted and by Friday it was up and running again. The lap pool, however, was another story. On Thursday my husband and I were sitting poolside and noticed what appeared to be a leaf on the bottom of the pool. I went into the water to cool off and discovered it was not a leaf, but rather a fissure in the pool bottom that turned into a rather large hole. Rec staff roped off that corner of the pool for one day and did close the lap pool on Saturday. They said the repair person was coming, but we were there when he came on Friday and know he told them he couldn't get to it until Monday (today). Here's hoping they get it fixed quickly.

We had a fabulous time and look forward to our next visit--probably May. :thumbsup2

Thank you!! I will check it out.

Hey guys! Just adding in my two cents ;)

I have used Mears for transportation ONCE and only ONCE for travel to airport from Dolphin. I only did this cause I figured save money for only 2 travelers at $28 each. Not my usual family of 4. So I didnt realize they pick you up same as DME like 3 hours before your flight and then they proceed to stop at 5 other resorts. The service was good, nothing bad about that just hated that I left so soon, haha, and that I sat on a bus for about 1.5 hours.

Other than that I use a private car company and r/t from airport to dolphin/swan runs avg 125 plus tip. So Just know if you book mears just understand what it entails. Most people dont mind and it is a savings!
:)

Hello everyone! Quick question: Can I request to have a microwave??
And do all rooms comes with fridges? Or do you need to request those?

Good point regarding the time and all the stops. Maybe a taxi or town car!

FYI - it probably changes each time depending on demand. We watched the coordinator and they all talk to each via walkie/talkie and then various vehicles pull up once they do a quick assessment of people/luggage.

First time we used Mears we were directed to a bus with a large group and thought we'd be forever but the whole group got off at the Marriott and then they tooks us.

Second time we were in a van with everyone going to our stop.

Not any different than ME except the multi-stops aren't all on property.
