It has rained quite a bit recently but has now started to dry up and warm up a bit (it is 50 degrees F or 10 degrees c at the moment out at the back of my house.) plus there is no wind today so it is quite nice but still overcast. I actually took my coat off to do the gardening as I was too hot, so just had a t-shirt on. The garden looks better now. I can see the daffodils, crocuses (sp?!) and tulips starting to come through so it should look nice in a few weeks time.
I hope you think of something nice to do with your son.

Morning everyone. Kids had a make up at school today-all except Lauren and of course we have to pay for her school!!
But dh is home. Ogg ff to the TRainforest Cafe and Dis store today. Anyone want to come? I'm sure there are some good sales to be had. Hadn't a chance to read all of the last few days posts but looks like Tinkbackwards has been shopping.

My kids are off from school today so i am working from home today..DH escaped and went to the office.. so it's me and then and the game cube..

We went to BlockBuster's so the boys will be occupied while i work today..

We got Radio, and Second Hand Lions.. cute.. and the boys got an NFL game cube game..


It is cold here too.. this am when i was working out it was 0..but it is supposed to warm up during the week to 30 or so.

Cheeringmom can the kids and I join you at the Rainforest?? We love the China Island Chicken salad.


Off to finish making breakfast for the kids... and leaving lots of boxes of Fanny May candies.. and Sees chocolates too..

3 degrees here this morning. But as Geffric says, it's going to warm up. High 30's low 40's by the time we go skiing! Kids are off from school this week.

Okay, I looked at the sweater. It has pineapple drinks, tiki drinks, blue drinks, umbrella drinks, etc. It is made by Mercer & Madison. The purse is XXOO. Sigh. I wish our camera wasn't broken.

I don't think so. They had martini's, flip flops and boats.

I think they call this mid winter break or Presidents' week. Someone once told me the history behind why many of us in the NE get this week off. It has to do with the energy crisis in the 70's. The closed the school for the week so that they could reduce energy consumption.

I don't know if this is a load of bull or not. LOL. All I know is that it is nearly impossible to get a flight out of Syracuse right now. Last year we went to WDW this week, but we had to fly out on a Weds and return on a Weds, so the kids missed three days of school. (The good news is that the first two days in the parks were dead!)

My DS9 has Mon-Wed of this week off...they call it Winter Break. Up until this year, it was always the week after and we were always able to great deals on Disney Cruises because it didn't coincide with the President's Day holiday.....but this year we had to cruise in eary January just to get a good cruise rate.......whoaaaa, what am I complaining about?.....I just took a Disney Cruise and that's pretty darn good!

I've got strep throat and they say I'm contagious so I can't visit Marshall's until tomorrow to get a cute martini sweater to match my cute martini handbag so I can go out and partay with Bichon Barb and[color=FF66CC]llebrekniT[/color]! Last Fall, Steinmart had the most wonderfully obnoxious bright pink and green pants with huge martini glasses on it. I bought them and had a "pink" party where whoever had on the best "pink" outfit won a prize (a pink boa, of course)! We play Bunco here in NC and it was my Bunco group(12 drunk women acting silly) so we had a blast! Next time you're in NC on the second Wednesday of the month, stop by, wear your drink glass attire and partay with us. It'll be great fun and my friends are hilarious!!!!

What is Bunco? I have heard several people talk about this...I think it is a card game, but how do you play?

Ok, I play Bunco too. It's a dice game. You roll with 3 die. You roll them and try to get the number you are on. It goes 1's - 6's then back down to 1's, twice then it's over. You play 4 to a table and the person sitting across from you is your partner. I'll roll for one's (so does everyone else at the table) and if I don't get any, it's the next person's roll. We try to get to 23, if you are at the winners table. If not, you just keep rolling until the winner's table rings the bell. If you get 3 one's, you Bunco (23 pts). You get prizes for the number of wins, boobie (least amount of wins), floater (who ever has the pin last....you get the pin on a Bunco), Bunco (most amount of Bunco's), 1st, 2nd and 3rd. Whoever wins on one's gets to move (or stay there if you are already at the winners table and the losers move) then the other tables move too and you trade partner's. It's fun. I won a wooden bench for my porch last Tuesday........I actually got Bunco and rolled off for third (there was a tie) and won. Didn't like third so I gave it to the gal I was rolling off with anyhow.

Cost $10/person a month and that money goes to the prizes ($25 Bunco, $20 1st, $15 second, $10 third, $7 floater and $3 boobie) there are 8 of us so that totals $80.00. Every month we rotate the hosting and the host provides the food/snacks/drinks and pays taxes on the items purchased as prizes.

Do you get it?????

Lewski709 That was perhaps the best job of explaining Bunco I've ever read! We play basically the same way but only until 21 and with 12 or 16 people. We have a great time and it's fun to sit and talk(and drink, of course)!

One other thing about Bunco, you can have a BUTLER (man slave) to serve food, drinks and entertainment. We've had a butler on several occasions, but I like it better with just the gals. The butler takes the attention away from Bunco. Him being a magician doesn't help either.

Welcome Marge. So glad you stopped by. This is a fun group of people to hang out with. We, too, love almost all things disney. Stay awhile. We'd love to get to know you. Our adopted "mom and dad" are not on yet. ohanafamily and RRBBkind of run things around here-keep us organized etc. They'll be glad you stopped by too. Uh, no, not really. I do better to just dive right in and play. BichonBarb OK, fess up - how many of these type purses are in your closet? Are you one of those "crazy purse ladies" as DHB likes to call them? I kinda like the first one, but the last one? No thank you, not into the western thing.

llebrekniT I think it's the group I am in. I have fun when we play Bunco, but they get derailed quite often with "other" things. I enjoy the drinking, but not much into men's magazines and "other" things. They are WILD, a bit too WILD....if you can imagine ME saying that.
