My home Virus update...I just gotta get some techie talk in, all of these guys being posted for ratings...but I have my Techie Talk...

at 9:38am Tuesday morning a file Explorer.DLL which was infected with the W32/Sdbot.worm.gen.b virus appeared on my e-mail server. It also made my files and e-mail unavailable.

I spent from 7:30 PM until 1:15 AM on hold waiting for a technician. I finished the call at 2:38 AM and everything was working. Just after I hung up, my e-mail server went down. (I couldn't get the tech back on the phone because he sent his info to my downed e-mail server...

Next call to Mcafee. only a 2 hour wait..was at work...they sent me an e-mail to contact Avert Labs. I got back a letter saying..No Virus Sample, No Info...

I E-mailed the Microsoft tech (from my account I set up for use on the Dis) and asked for his contact info, and told him what Mcafee said. I told him I might need to reformat my whole network. (2 computers) and while I am at it replace one of the 2 servers. He said fine...Let him know, we can set up a time...

My next call will be back to Mcafee while in front of the machine, If that is a no-go, DW (notice I didn't use her color, I am hoping my Eagle Eyed Wife might miss this part) might get upset at my...let's see...Valentines day present to myself of a computer upgrade. I will probably be on the phone gain all day Sunday...not Saturday...

How did my computer get infected? who knows. I am running all sorts of anti-virus programs and it still got in...

ohanafamily sorry about your computer. How would such a computer guru like yourself find yourself infected? I thought is was just me who says "Update later" when it pops up. Are you banned from talking about DVC? I could not read the last zillion pages I missed to see if you are permently banned from DVC talk. Dawgfan, my thoughts and prayers are with you. One of my DS's forgot something this morning, so I opened the door a crack and yelled out to him to come back in. In that split second, both Beanie and Otto squeezed out and ran across the street to where all the kids wait for the bus. Thank God a car wasn't coming. I worry that one of these days I won't be so lucky. In any event, I hope the pup does well and that you don't have to make any gut-wrenching decisions. Keep us updated.

Ohanafamily, remember the picture you posted of the truck running over the harddrive? Have you tried that approach?

Oh, as I mentioned on another thread, Rob called me last night from DD. (Jerk. He had a beer at the House of Blues and dinner at Bongo's without me. ) Anyway, he's got Disney fever and wants to drive down with the camper in mid August. I told him I'm game. I've already check out rates. Seven nights at FW is $320 plus tax! Gosh I love camping! I've already been the camping board with my questions.

OK, I've missed the last 12 hours or so (which is, what, like 20 pages?!?!). The last thing I remember reading was the story about dawgfan's poor Buster. I hope he's doing well.

I'm trying to finish packing and then I'll take Louie to "Disney's Grand Canine Resort & Spa" (shhhh....it's really the vet, but don't tell him). We're leaving for Orlando around 2:00ish today, staying in Valdosta, GA tonight (yay ) and then finish the journey tomorrow morning. I don't think we'll be spending much time in the Disney area though , as we need to focus on finding an apartment. My partner says it has to do with...uhhh, what did he call it?....oh yeah, "priorities." I tried explaining that I do have my priorities in order, but apparently he had Mickey much further down the to-do list than I did. Oh well... We'll be heading home on Monday, but I may check in with youse guys in the meantime.

Ya'll be good (yeah, right!). And can you please try to keep the chatter down to a minimum so I don't have to wade through so many pages searching for my name Bichon Barb style?
