DH is in the hospital.
Okay, now that I've gotten your attention, I'll make a long story short (yeah right).
We went skiing yesterday morning. Beautiful day! Sunny, low 40's. It was around 4:00 p.m. and I just finished my last run with Eric when I saw Hunter. Hunter says "Dad fell on the terrain park. They bringing him down on a sled." I asked Hunter if daddy was talking. "No". (not good)
Well, then witnesses started coming over to me and telling me what happened. He was attempting a 360 -- which ended up being a one 180, and instead of landing on his skis, he landed on his back. A 360 is when you go off a jump and turn (twist) 360 degrees. He was unconscious for about 1.5 minutes. When they got him down, he was talking and complaining of back pain. So they took him to the hospital in an ambulance.
I took the kids to the neighbors and went to the hospital. They took x-rays, but no fractures. Although he had no headache, etc., they did a CT scan. We were all surprised to find out that he has a 2 mm subdural(?) hematoma. If it were an older person it would be no big deal, but because there isn't much space between the brain and the skull on younger people, it can be a problem. So they kept him overnight in the ICU in case they need to drill a hole and relieve pressure. (Ewwww.)
So I went back this morning with his clothes thinking he'd be going home today, but they want to keep him one more night just to be sure. The good news is I can watch the awards tonight without him pouting and complaining. (he-he)
BTW, did I mention that the neurosurgeon looks just like Frodo? He's about the same size too.
I call him Doogie Howser.
Can I come over, give him lots of hugs, maybe a sponge bath? I can really help with the
banana and maybe the
uranus, as well. I know some physical therapy to get everything working. <a href='http://www.smileycentral.com/?partner=ZSzeb008' target='_blank'><img src='http://smileys.smileycentral.com/cat/3/3_2_2.gif' border=0></a> Ohhhhhhhh NURSE! Seriously, hope he is ok.
By the way
Bichon Barb, I know your mind is on a lot right now, but could you please explain the 360 again. I don't think we got it. <a href='http://www.smileycentral.com/?partner=ZSzeb008' target='_blank'><img src='http://smileys.smileycentral.com/cat/4/4_1_102.gif' border=0></a>
Kismetdreams congrats on the hot tub! I also am very excited about your wedding, a taglikin gets married. How cool is that? When is it?
RRBB the web page is very easy to use, many thanks and excellent work on the linking
ohanafamily. As for the Passion, it's worth a see, IMO, but just as every religion out there, we all understand and are taught the bible differently. As long as you are true to yourself (and
RRBB of course) just view it as a movie, not real unless you want to believe it is.
Deadheadbelle pick the right place or you will never live it down, expecially with that comment about
llebrekniT choosing your brother and the inability of his laundry.
cadburysmom nice work on the banana comment. <a href='http://www.smileycentral.com/?partner=ZSzeb008' target='_blank'><img src='http://smileys.smileycentral.com/cat/12/12_4_26.gif' border=0></a>
RickinNYC maybe
ohanafamily will offer one from his bunch.
Haven't posted a lot as I am already too chatty being high on the list, maybe there is hope for
Cheeringmom to take the lead, or someone else. If
Cheeringmom leaves McDonald's again for breakfast, she is gonna sit in the corner. I much prefer her homemade stuff.
