It's less girly than Twilight. The main character is a girl, but she's not always like "and then jared was like sooo sexy and then he flipped his hair and I was like omg stud your like so sexy"

I have a few questions.
Bear with me, I'm a speed reader, and not much of a dig-deep-into-the book kind of person. But with these books, I've read them each at least 5 times xD (no summer reading getting done here). I'm still trying to convince my mom that they're entirely addicting.

Anyway. If the question seems stupid and the answer's right there in the book (or you have to infer) please like give me page numbers because I like to go look them up and such.
Questions:

Why is Jake hot?
Why is Edward Cold?
Do vampires bleed?
Why does Edward like Bella, I mean, in my view she's whiney and stubborn and if she doesn't get her way, she complains like crazy. She's good at guilt tripping and just doesn't seem to really be attractive. Is it because her blood smells good? I seriously think on one side of my brian maybe this is all a trick because he really does want her blood. (The other side of my brian yells at me for thinking such harsh things of Edward =0 hehe)
Why is Edward's breath sweet?
Why are the Volturi's eyes red?
Why are the vampire wars mainly in the south and not really in the north?

And to clear some things up:
Laurent went to the other vampire family up north as a trick to get info on the special talents of the Cullens, right?

Victoria only wanted to kill Bella, not Edward, because she wanted to ruin his mate like he ruined hers, right?

And, last but not least, Edward does promise to bite her after they marry, right? The last few chapters [of Eclipse] I have practically memorized because I read them nightly xD.

It's part of him being a werewolf; their body temperatures are supposedly higher than the average human's.

Why is Edward Cold?
As a vampire's trait, they're cold and their body temperatures are not as high as a human. He's like marble.

Do vampires bleed?
Nope.

Edward mainly became attracted to Bella by her blood's scent.

Why is Edward's breath sweet?
As a vampire, Edward is supposed to feed on blood (but he in particular is "vegetarian"). His breath is supposed to attract people. It's all part of vampires being attractive to get people to stay near them.

Why are the Volturi's eyes red?
I'm just assuming that their eyes are red just like the Cullens' eyes are topaz-- I think they just are..

Why are the vampire wars mainly in the south and not really in the north?
Maybe there were more vampires in the South?
