DVC Field Guide?

I like it a lot and also bought the updates. It's a great introduction for newbies, who don't want to spend months here and in other places to understand the basics of DVC, but it's also great as a reference for all the different rooms and resorts and their availability. Most of the information can be found in other places online as well but it's a really convenient compendium.

I’ve bought it every year. It’s less useful for me now but it’s a nice resource in case you need it. I like the availability tables.

I bought it, primarily to support what they're doing. Not sure I learned anything new from it, but I think what they do is so valuable for us, I was happy to purchase it.
I do it for the same reason. I want it to keep going.
Thats kinda what I’m thinking too. I’m pretty sure I won’t learn anything from it, but just to support is good enough, and to have some charts or whatever in hand… that I probably have open in my phones browser all the time anyway. lol

We just bought our first contract in January. I bought the field guide a few months before buying points and read it cover to cover. It was a bit of a re-hash of "free" info I had picked up lurking here or watching YouTube videos. But, I thought it was very very helpful. It's all the information you need all in one place. I think it should required reading for people thinking about buying.

Also, I love the room layouts and resort maps. It's so useful to see where the tiers of room views are located at the resort, and how the room is laid out. Helps to determine if the upgrade is worth the extra points.

So I have the 2025 version, I'll skip 2026, then buy 2027 when it comes out. I don't think it's necessary to get every year... not that I much should change. But good to stay current and support the authors.

I bought it and I reference it a lot for last minute reservations just to see which rooms I should wl and have the best shot at getting.

With that being said, I really appreciate it, but I think the info on vdh is pretty negative and inaccurate. Just constructive criticism. I do not think the tot should be rolled into the dues as they are seperate charges. Maybe a seperate chart showing tot and a disclaimer that when you stay at vdh you will be paying both and the showing cost of that separetly would be more appropriate. If I read the vdh section as a noob I would think I absolutely should stay away.

But other than that I think its great!
