Did you like This Is It?

Yeah, actually.

I'm not a huge MJ fan (but its not like I hate him or strongly dislike, and I do like his music!), but the technical theatre stuff was awesome!

My dad and I kept commenting on how MJ didn't seem 50 at all! He was still as quick and sharp as ever.

I watched it mostly because my dad got it as a gift from my mom and wanted to watch it, but I was surprised at how much I enjoyed it. :upsidedow

(It helped that there were a TON of Haunted Mansion references in the Thriller section ;))

Haha yeah there was a lot of those references :) I am glad you ended up liking it. :)

Freakiest part of Next to Normal.
Background: Diana is a woman suffering from bipolar depression and hallucinations of her son who died when he was only a few weeks old, Gabe (she sees him in his current age).

She sings a song about how she'll die to dance with him (be with him).
Gabe then sings a song called "There's a World" where he tells her there's a place she'll never feel pain, the sun shines each day, and he'll take her there.

At the end of the song, he's holding her arm.

Next thing you know:
Dr. Madden: Goodman, Diana. Discovered unconcious in home. Multiple razor wounds to the wrists and forearm. Self-inflicted. Sutures, gauze, antibiotics, sedated and restrained. Damnit.

Gabe represents fear, anger, grief, depression.. it's such a powerful play.

I just realized like none of the songs on my iPod are depressing enough for meh moods.

Ah well, I guess they'll cheer me up then.

I want adventure in the great wide somewhere
I want it more then I can tell
and for once it might be grand
to have someone understand
I want so much more then they've got planned
